Spring 21 513 Sanikas Pass The sky overhead was littered with clouds and a gentle breeze blew through the pass and danced through the trees, ruffling their leaves and sending some to the ground. The sun sometimes peeked out from behind the clouds, its light bringing small bursts of warmth to the ground. Kane was in a bit of a surprisingly good mood that day. Nothing special had really happened, but for him, special occurrences usually equaled bad things happening. Mostly to him. As such, the normalcy of the day was greatly welcomed. So much so, that he chose to extend this state of normal by leaving the city and its inhabitants to visit the Sanikas Pass. Of course, the pass could possibly be dangerous, so he’d brought his dog Saul along with him. He smiled to himself as the examined the surrounding area from the rock that he’d settled himself on. He’d spent enough time staring at the sky. The last time he'd been here it had been winter and the flora had changed significantly since then. Of course, at the time of his previous visit, there had been no flora. So that was different. He idly scratched Saul behind his ear, earning a happy tail wag from the dog. Any animals that may have been in the area had yet to show themselves, which was a bit disappointing. Kane had been hoping to see what kinds of creatures took residence around Wind Reach. But he was sure that if he hung around long enough he’d spot something. And perhaps if nothing showed within the bell, he’d search around for any interesting plants to study. Flowers were a bit of a guilty pleasure of his, and surely there were some lovely ones blooming in the area. It was spring after all. Only time would tell. |
