Xi locked his eyes and watched revy swing her sword around until it became a blur of motion, but still slow enough for Xi's eye's to follow if only barely he traced each and every motion before taking a deep and slow breath, he wouldn't be caught out. He would watch for a moment a single break in her pattern and even if she brought her shield into the mix he was ready for her. She lifted her shield and readied herself of him. Xi took a slow breath drawing it deeply before slowly speaking.
"Revy, i said i would go full strength. You'd best too." The aura of intimidation now flowed off of him around him filling up the air like a thick flood of sweltering heat and flame. His eye's now seemingly glowing as he gazed at revy. His hands crumpling into balled and his his knuckles whitening beneath his gauntlets. Xi simply threw a punch inot the air, a strike so fast that from his standing point his arm became a blur and the sound that followed was more like the slice of a blade. His neck cracked and he controlled his movements a he hunkered down and closed the gap between him and revy his true fighting pose taken as he raced across and took stock of what was going to happen.

On point of contact instead of aiming for her he chose a different target, positioning himself so it would look like he was aiming a strike for her body instead he aimed for that weak spot on her shield he'd made. Xi drew his left side in looking like he was going to try and end it immediately with a single powerful left straight, but no. Instead he was using it as a fulcrum and a rotational vertex to bring the rest of his body through on the right hand side and drive an amazing amount of power into the weakest point of her shield. Then with his body twisted he'd bring his arm up from below in a single upwards soaring attack. A vicious upper cut aimed at not her chin but this time at her stomach. Not only was his punches near-superhuman in strength but bordering on it in strength as well. then knowing that her best chance to hit him would be them he rolled his right arm across as a shield as he used his leg strength to jump him back across. He knew that his right punch had probably connected, but he couldn't be too sure about his left, what ever had happened he'd driven in two punches and leapt back to create distance in under four seconds. Preparing himself for a return assault he watched her, her shoulders her wrists her hips and he knees, glancing between all of them. Thinking how he might respond to the assault.

The duel (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on April 19th, 2013, 1:44 pm

The moment Xi started his assault, all of Revy's senses just screamed out from the danger perceived. She had to dodge this attack, as taking it head on was going to be very dangerous. In reaction to that, she immediately prepared herself to let the blows pass by her by shifting her rear foot directly behind her front. She kept her shield right in front of her body, covering what she had done with her own stance.

Just before Xi reached her, Revy decided to go all out too and entered her zone. Seeing him draw in his left, she immediately started to twist her body anticlockwise. But only then did she see that it was merely a feint and the actual blow was aimed at her shield. Even in her zone she felt a tinge of surprise, yet her instincts made her keep her own momentum by turning into his area and towards his side.

She saw the blow pass by her and from there she brought up her sword. She aimed at his left shoulder, trying to cut the tendons. The cut came from behind him, as the mercenary used her own rotational momentum to give power to the blade. Just after the slice, she brought up her foot and tried to kick his back. After that she quickly took two paces back to get outside of his immediate striking range and semi-crouched to reduce her profile, hiding her body behind the shield, her eyes juts barely peeking over the rim.

Xi watched revy move in time with him bringing herself around to his side trying to get behind him. Xi followed through with his punch rolling away and letting her blade come up and clean slicing nothing but air. Dammit his whole plan had just gone out the window in that brief moment. Finally somebody who can challenge me again. Xi took a slow breath and stilled his mind rising from the ground in a simple motion his body holding steady. She lowered herself and used her shield as a wall. Xi could already see that that thing was going to become a problem and instead was going to have to become redundant very fast. Xi sank back into his real fighting stance leaving a huge gaping hole in his defences or so it would seem. Xi closed the gap again this time much slower, he'd already used a surprising rush and that wouldn't work again. The world still retained it;s colour, and the sounds around him still got through. Taking a deep breath again Xi closed the gap. Xi smirked at revy knowing that this would be interesting and the odds weren't in his favour that he'd walk out unscathed.

Xi closed his hand into a tight fist and instead of delivering one amazingly powerful blow, he thought he'd thrum out a lot of smaller blows. Xi closed the gap to within rage keeping his left arm up. That was his shield for the time being, instead he rant through his thoughts slowly and lowered the impact power of his right arm. Speaking out the words in his head. The one to fill out the devilish darkness...Holy black...Rapid fire Xi snapped out his right fist from his side with lighting speed every punch aimed at the shield he was going to ware her down that way. Using one third less power he'd shoot out seven lightning fast strikes keeping his left hand ready to guard what ever blow she might bring against him before he himself. Reclaiming the distance between them this was the default position for the bout between them the space to assess each others remaining strength and speed. Xi drank down another slow breath. He'd had another attack that he might be able to pull out but the time would have to be right and he'd have to...he could do that...Yes that could work.

The duel (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on April 24th, 2013, 7:33 am

The mercenary was slightly disappointed that her attack didn't even scratch him. Yet at the same time she was slightly relieved, because that did mean that the other wasn't taking this lightly. This was going to be interesting at least. But she didn't have the time to enjoy a fight like this as she wouldn't hold out too long. Being in 'the zone' consumed her stamina fast. She knew that she only had a few chimes before she'd lose, if the fight hadn't been decided by then.

Revy noticed the obvious gap in the other's defense quite easily, but decided not to act upon it. She knew that he was a skilled fighter and no skilled fighter would leave a gap that obvious in one's defense, so it just had to be a trap. Because she didn't act upon it, she could react fast enough to the other closing the gap by putting the shield against the ground, resting it against her leg while tilting it backwards. This helped with mitigating the power of the rapid blows, reducing the strain on her shoulder. She was concerned about her shield as she could hear the groans coming from it. It sounded as if the woodwork on it was worn and weakened. "Don't think it'll live long anymore if I don't get it fixed.", she thought to herself.

The moment Xi backed off again, the woman rose up back on her feet. She quickly guessed the distance between them and concluded that he was just barely out of range for a simple attack from her. She'd have to close the distance if she wanted to do some damage to him.
She tapped the ground slightly with her foot to see how hard it was and concluded that she could use it if she used her sword to loosen it. "Let's see how he'll react to this.", she thought to herself.

The mercenary then stuck her sword into the ground, using her shield as a screen to hide her intent, and then with quite a bit of force, she sliced the ground, sending the loosened rocks and dirt flying towards Xi's face. She chased after it right away, jumping towards the wall, planting her foot on it and pushing herself off again to gain enough height, to stab the giant's neck. It was reckless and dangerous to herself, but even more so to the other. If Xi were to react to it by trying to punch her body, she'd curl herself up and bring the shield in front of her to block the attack, but she couldn't avoid anything, she knew that.

Xi had felt every blow thud into the wooden shield the steel of his gauntlets biting deep into the simple wooden wall. But incidentally the wood was creaking he could feel it giving way he'd used those seven lighter punches to emphasized the weak spot on the wood. The space Xi'd gathered between the two of them was something simple but necessary he could see next to nothing thanks to that colossal wall of wood, he wanted it gone. Xi flexed his fingers watching the woman before him Xi himself though was perfectly aware of his surroundings, what he wasn't fully sure of is what she might do. Xi watched her movements, slow and methodical, even when fighting. Xi flexed his hands and then out of nowhere a plume of dust and grit shot up into the air. Xi reeled back out of the way, a half step back and a head jerk to get his face out of the cloud of grit and dirt. Not gonna work. Xi took a deep slow breath and then saw her follow up.

Xi rolled his body around and to the right however he was a touch too slow as she'd already placed him and he was still trying to half see through a loud of grit and dirt, and as he turned Xi felt the sharp edge of the sword narrowly miss his shoulder but felt a good length of it slice down across the front of his chest, not deep just irritating. Xi felt the warm liquid roll down his chest slowly the bright red catching light in the sun. Petch...Almost got me there, but with a very cheap trick intermixed...Would she have gotten me otherwise? That was the point when things hit extreme. Xi's eye's began to burn, the black blue eye''s becoming like liquid fire within them. And then....Xi felt something click, a point within him release. Xi rolled his left knuckles and allowed her to land before closing the gap within an instant. the split second between her landing and turning to face him was the point he took for that second her back was towards him. and that was all he'd needed. The origin of all things...Mother Black Xi brought his weight in drawing his fit up to shoulder height his left hand acting like a shield for him he was following her motions with her sword and shield with his hands and applying it to his own techniques. his raised right hand, in-line with his shoulder, his left arm up braced against his chest like a shield, he brought his body weight around and aimed the full weight of both his body and the explosive force of his punch. As he brought his shoulder close to in line with hers he snapped out the explosive power of his biceps and shoulder muscle. he'd aimed at her left hand shoulder, trying to literally drive the shield out her arm by weakening the arm. Revy, i hope i don't hurt you too baldy...Else this might end up bad for the pair of us. Still i don't want to lose...I refuse to lose. I will win! Whether or not the hit connected Xi was in pole position for a follow up before she could try and bash him away with the shield Xi's already had his second attack point lined up. dropping his left hand down to his waist he twisted his abs and left his fist in line with his waist. His favourite punch was now coming.

Xi rolled his shoulders around closer and his left hand shot out in a mighty blow aimed directly over her arm. The daggers of an angry rain...Arrow Black. His arm snapped out and before the main attack completed Xi formulated how to escape. Whether or not the attack landed Xi literately fell backwards rolling back and following through with his feet last rolling over his shoulder and having dirt and grit stick to his sweat coated skin across his back. I'm sorry revy, but i hope you can forgive me...I don't want do hurt you but that seems to be the only way that you'll see ones of us as the victor is if the other is injured.

The duel (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on April 24th, 2013, 5:31 pm

The mercenary was slightly disappointed that her attack had failed, but could at least take pleasure in the fact that the other didn't get out of that unscathed. However, she hadn't expected him to recover from that life-threatening attack that fast. He was already on top of her and prepared his attack when she noticed it.

It was already far too late to dodge the attack. She had to block it... even though she didn't want to put much more strain on her father's shield. The blow came, barely blocked by her shield, which in return gave off a nasty cracking sound. A few pieces were split or broken now. Revy had to get this guy off her before he'd attack again, but again she wasn't in the position to escape. The only ways she could go were to the sides. She only had a foot before she'd be against the wall.

Almost intuitively she brought her shield between herself and the next blow.... only to hear a sickening crack and flames spreading throughout her arm, or so it seemed, before she got knocked into the wall hard. Her head hit it almost as hard as the rest of her body and as she slumped to the ground, a red stain could be seen on the wall.
The woman however, didn't seem to notice it as she rose again, the broken pieces of her shield falling to the ground laying her broken arm bare.

It was quite visible that her arm was broken. It was bent halfway between her elbow and wrist, yet the woman didn't seem to give it any thought. If she was pissed before about the comment of him going easy on her before, this was fury. He broke her father's shield... her ONLY memento of her family. He was going to pay. Her eyes clearly showed her oppressive killing intent, along with her unbridled rage. She'd only stop now if she was either killed, knocked out or her target was left as a bloody pulp.

The mercenary launched her offensive almost right after she stood straight. Even though blood was trickling down her back, her vision blurry and having a murderous headache, she went in for the kill. Her first slice was at Xi's thighs, followed up by one going up across his chest, before she attempted to lob off his head.

Xi watched his hand ring against the shield, the punch had been perceived and prepared against. though as his arm came through he felt the wood against her arm yield and give way along with the crack of the solid oak Xi felt the crack and heard the loud sicking shear of bone. The sound burst through a simple realization to Xi...He'd gone over board. He'd done something too much...Damn it he'd only meant to fracture it not break the damn thing that badly. Then was the slam, her body had collided with the wall from the impact of the hit. a red stain left it'self against the wall and Xi couldn't help but feel a dark chill roll over him. Had he killed her ? Had he overstepped the line? Xi watched her rise again almost like a zombie the blod behind her against the wall, Xi instead was feeling the pressure from the killing intent that left her, almost as if she was trying to strangle him with it...He'd felt that prior but against evalin. And she had been throwing fireballs and giant men against him. But no Xi rolled back just in time to watch her sword sail across the air and cut nothing. Though s he rose into a crouching position he felt the blade scream across the air and brought his arm up the steel taking the majority of the blow but the tip of the sword scoring across his right bicep and half way across his chest, both now weeping blood steadily.

Petch it, fine if she still wants to fight dammit this wont end well, i have to stop this no- Before Xi could continue his thoughts he saw the sword flying at him again, the blade coming closer and closer to his face, he bright his left arm up the cut still light across his shoulder even as his head rolled back he brought his left arm up to block the impact forced his arm back and beneath, missing anything vital and deeply biting against him another cut across his face from his jaw lightly up to just touching his nose, missing his eye only by millimetres and cutting lightly but deep enough to leave a scar. he now felt the blood run down his face, and, some thing within him snapped...The sound of the surroundings drained as he had one thought run through his head even as the colour drained from his eyes and only she remained. She wants to kill me...NO, I WILL NOT DIE! The world for him seemed to slow and the killing intent came off of him in a torrent that screamed out across the walks of the war fields the intimidating aura blazing off of him like blue flames, His will now tangible. Xi now rose, but in his rise from kneeling he'd pepped his next attacks. He would relieve her of her sword.

Xi lifted himself up with such sped and force his prior moments would seem slow in comparison. Xi lifted himself grabbing her wrist so her sword couldn't move and he drove his hand towards her upper arm, his fist aimed at her bicep to get her to drop her blade and then came his aimed assault his elbow driven towards her sternum his left fist coming in towards her diaphragm, then from below his knee would be aimed to fly into her abdomen. If these hit the force would be enough to send her flying back if these missed then Xi would spring back off of his right leg. and then snap out his spring loaded left foot from the failed knee attempt straight into her stomach again. If that hit then she'd go flying onto her back. Xi held his anger in check but, this was his will for survival. He wouldn't die, so long as he had enough strength within his bones to throw one punch. And revy was now tasting the fury of a survivor from sunberth. Oner who would have rather died than go back to a life of nightmares.

The duel (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on April 24th, 2013, 8:45 pm

The mercenary didn't even do as much as blink when she saw the giant getting up a heck of a lot faster then before. In fact, she didn't think anything. The only thing that dominated her mind was the need to kill that motherpetcher. Because of this, the moment he grabbed her wrist, she reacted by closing the gap between them completely, almost touching his chest.

Because she got up that close, the attacks, that the giant had planned to initiate, didn't connect the way they should, if they connected at all. The only one that did hit her, was the blow that Xi had wanted to give her swordarm. Yet it only hit her left shoulder, sending the pain signals from her arm throughout her body. If she hadn't been this furious, she'd surely have groaned out in pain, let alone try to continue fighting.

Now it was her turn to hit him again. First up was the knee to his groin, after which she jumped up to get to his face. Revy had been in more then just a few brawls and that experience was now being put to the test as she attempted to smash her forehead into the giant's face.

Xi had his entire attack pattern planned out and then in an instant she shattered it, even as his right arm collided with her shoulder that was about all he got off before her chest pressed against his and in a single motion she tried to bring her knee up swiftly into his groin. His mind though already was focusing on his kneed so he simply changed it's trajectory turning it to block the blow to his manhood and instead let her knee collide with his steel. Xi then rolled and lowered his head enough to butt heads with her, to someone looking from a far this might look interest, or be con-strewn as them having an intimate moment, though right now it was the furthest thing. Xi simply glared into her eye's and pulled on her arm rolling his body through placing his right leg between hers and as his body turned he pulled on her other arm using his own rolling and forward falling momentum to pull her over and throw her across his shoulders and much further away from him at least a good ten feet.

Xi if that failed would then use that moment to get some distance between himself and her to allow him to find some way of ending this in the next few moments, else-wise one of them was going to die...And it wasn't likely to be him.

The duel (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on April 24th, 2013, 9:16 pm

In some far away place in her mind, the mercenary noticed the pain of her knee colliding with the steel. That was going to be swollen soon, but that wasn't any of her concern. Yet what she did notice was the two heads colliding. Instead of hitting the softer part, namely his face, she hit the hard part, his forehead. While her headache had been bad, it was now painful enough to be felt through her haze of fury. And as an added bonus to that, her vision had just gotten blurry.

What happened next didn't register in her mind. One tick she was looking him dead into the eyes and the next, she saw herself flying. While that wasn't any issue, what came after the flight was. Revy smacked to the ground several feet away from Ximal, but instead of landing on her back cleanly, somehow her left arm had gotten under her body. Now the pain that came from that, was more then enough to break her fury.

The woman screamed out in pain. She had her arm broken before, but then she didn't hurt it afterwards anymore. The pain that she felt right now, was mind boggling. She couldn't even begin to ignore it, let alone continue fighting. This fight was over and both of them knew it.
