"R-really? You could... help me kill it? He...hehehe~ Thank... you..." Kouri warmly smiled at Maduro with her half-opened eyes. She didn't really care about anything anymore. She just wanted to feel warmth... and warmth forever... "Uh hun~" Kouri slowly nodded and closed her ethereal eyes, the crimson orbs now covered with her pale eyelids. Listening intently to everything Maduro said, his words built vivid images in her mind and she could feel as if it was reality.

==================

W-what? W-where am... I? Kouri opened her eyes to find herself in a... city. Filled with snow and when she looked upwards, she could saw Aurora. I-it can't be... Kouri quickly looked all around her. The architecture, this neighborhood, this place... this is... Avanthal. I... I'm in Avanthal? H-how can this be? This was her home, there was no mistake... but Kouri felt like she couldn't possibly be here. She remembered entering a tavern in Syliras for Queen Morwen's sake. How could she possibly be here?

Am... I? Kouri looked at her own hands, it was... corporeal, it was substansial, and had a healthy skin-tone. "Wha?" Her eyes grew wide in shock. She looked at her own feet and it was actually touching the ground, when she lifted her shoes; her footprints were visible. "I'm... I'm..." She couldn't believe it, she was alive and well. Was all the horrible things that had happened just a nightmare? She quickly darted through the snow and found a sheet of ice made from frozen water. She used it as a make-shift mirror.

"I'm... I'm alive! Hahaha! I'm... I'm alright!" She could see herself. Dark hair as black as night, vibrant sapphire blue eyes, and the skin-tone of a healthy girl. "Ahahahaha! Ahahaha! I'm alive! I'm alive! It was... it was just a dream after all!" Kouri couldn't contain her excitement and jumped up and down. The feeling of gravity pulling her body, the cold she felt from touching the falling snow, oh how she missed it. Speaking of cold... "Brrrr! It's cold!" She was alone outdoors, she needed to find shelter lest she froze to death.

She looked behind her and could find her home! Her own home! "That's... my home? It really is! I'm home... I'm hooooome! Ehehehehe~!" She immediately ran to the place where she spent all of the precious moments with her parents.

"I'm... I'm home! Mama! Papa! I'm coming hooooome!" Barging through the door, Kouri gasped for breath in excitement. This interior, these furnitures. Yes, this was her home, no mistakes about it. "Mamaaaaaa? Papaaaaaaaa? Are you home? It's me, Kouri!" She shouted, filled with extreme longing to see her parents again. "Hmmm? Perhaps they are not home yet..." Nobody answered her, in fact, there was no one outside either as if the whole city was empty. "Where is everybody?" She started to feel strange, something was wrong with this.

I'll go warm myself up... Deciding to investigate this matter later, Kouri closed the door and approached the still burning fireplace. Every step she took, every sound her footsteps made, every creak of the wooden floor; brought her joy. She was not the ethereal phantom anymore, she was a full-blooded Vantha now. It's so warm... so warm~ Near the fireplace, Kouri sat down on the floor and cutely swayed her body side to side while humming a song.

==================

"Uuuh... uun... Mama? Papa?" Kouri whispered some of the words she spoke in her vivid hypnotic dream in her native Vani language. This should gave Maduro hints on what happened inside her ethereal mind... if he could understand Vani, but it seemed not to be the case. Then she sighed in content, indicating in her mind, she was sitting near a fireplace. "W-where... is everybody?"

[Rearing Stallion] Manipulating the Intangible (Maduro)

Fubuki was lost taken away on a journey, some of what she spoke he could hear but what she was saying he could not understand. She wrote the narrative of the story around what he told her, Kouris psyche would do as it was told to do to a degree.

It was like a violation of the mind, it was exposed and vulnerable as she was lost in a fairy tale.

The way she spoke seemed to indicate that she was looking for someone or something. So the Narrative would continue.

You can hear foot steps, you know those steps, there your moms. Shes coming in to see you, she's happy and asks you where you've been. She will tell you not to trust the Master that he is leading you astray, that it's time for you to return but she loves you

And that you should listen to your heart.

Maduro would let Fabuki play in make believe for a little while, as her consciousness would absorb the narrative of the story. So while she would be busy interpreting her actions to the story it would allow Maduro one last spell.

It would weave djed into one last suggestion, he had reached his limits any further would have dire consequences. He could already hear the air starting to whisper secrets of times long past, of passions and lust tempting him urging him further. Enough it had to end this.

There is no Maduro, it must have been a dream

He would leave the spirit in its seat with its eyes glazed, and half open.

The charming man would be gone, when Fubuki awoke or snapped out of it. Chances are she would not remember him, or perhaps it would be a fragmented memory. There was no way for Maduro to tell for sure, but it was clear to him that the ghost was dangerous and he lacked the skill to maintain control of it.

OOCI think this will be the last post for the thread. :D PM me for confirmation and I will post it for grading, Maduro.

But of course, if you want to continue, please do so. :)

"Hauuu..." Kouri was still lost in her own little world. Her eyes empty and focused on nothing in particular. Her mind registered Maduro's words as command that must be obeyed, and obey it she shall. However... the little devil inside would not take kindly to this development...

==================

"Mama..." The black-haired girl sitting in front of the fireplace hugged her knees and put her chin on top of it. She was still wondering on why the whole place was empty, but then... footsteps, she could hear footsteps in her home. "Huh? Is someone there?" Her tone was filled with anticipation and excitement, her growing suspicion of the place started to vanish; she was not alone after all.

"Kouri, honey..." She heard a voice... that voice, she deeply recognized it; it was her mother's voice, there was no mistake about it. "M-mama?!" Kouri quickly stood up and looked behind her, there... just a few meters from her. A woman with similar physical traits as Kouri stood, it was clear that they were related as Kouri looked like the child version of this woman.

"Ma-mamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!" She couldn't contain it anymore, she immediately ran and glomped her mother with all her might. Her scent, her warmth, her embrace... she missed it all; after so many cold nights spent alone in the Bronze Woods. The sight of her mother was enough for her to just forget everything else. She could feel her mother lovingly brushing her very long black hair with her hand.

"Hahaha, what's the matter, honey? Anyways, Papa is going out for the moment, he should come back soon." Her mother asked curiously as if not knowing what happened to her daughter and just in case her daughter asked, told her about Taka's whereabouts.

"I'm just so glad... I'm just so glad you are alive! And we're all alright! Hehehe~ Mama mama~" She hugged her mother tighter and snuggled her head on her mother's chest. They were both quite short compared to other humans, as usual with Vanthas.

"Dear, did you have a nightmare?" Sora's tone was very concerned now, something must have happened with her daughter to act like this. "Uhun..." Kouri slowly nodded. "I had a terrible nightmare..." She said in fear and relief at the same time.

"Do you want to tell me about it, dear?" Sora asked again, still concerned about her daughter's well-being. "Uuun..." Kouri shook her head. "It's okay... I'm just glad it's just a dream..." Kouri decided just to forget all about it, the horrible nightmare, the time she spent as an unliving phantom.

"Alright then, dear... oh, I have something to tell you..." Her mother said in a serious tone and she knelt down to look at Kouri on eye-level. "You... shouldn't listen to your Master, he's leading you astray.... you should only listen to your heart."

"W-wha-... what?" Kouri eyes went wide. How could her mother know of her Master? It wasn't possible. Her mother's words brought fear and suspicion back to Kouri's mind. "H-how... how..." She began to think that all of this... was too good to be true, that this was merely a dream and all of that 'nightmare' she was talking about were in fact... reality. She couldn't came to a conclusion, not when her mother suddenly flashed a malicious grin, much like her other side's.

OOCIt got rather long so I divided it into two posts.

Continuing to second post...

"Ehehehehe... hahahahahaha!" Sora let out a very out-of-character cackle. Her body started to... change. Her eyes slowly turned crimson, her hair lightened to silvery white, and her healthy skin-tone deaden until it resembled a corpse's pale. "Kuahahaha... did you think... did you think I would just let myself be fooled by that man?!" She covered one of her crimson eyes with her hand, cackling all the way. Then... her clothes changed as well, it started to resemble...

"Wha... wha... n-no... no!" Kouri could only stare in shock as her mother transformed into... herself. Specifically, her ghost self. That unmistakably billowing silvery white hair, those reptilian crimson pupils, and that bloodstained white dress. "Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! This is not! This is not real!" Kouri closed her eyes, grabbed her head, and shook it quickly from side to side. She wanted all of this to end, for her to wake up and be in her mother's embrace again.

"Ehehehehahahahahahaha! AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! YES! THIS IS NOT REAL! ALL OF THIS ISN'T REAL! It's just a fabrication! A fake! A fraud created by a petching vagik's puny magic..." Her phantom-self chewed the scenery, waking Kouri up from her delusion using intimidation and fear. She leaned in her body like a cobra, and hissed at her human self. "Time to wake up, Kouri~ Time to wake up... Hehehehahahahaha!! It had been a good dream, hasn't it? But it's all over now... like Mama said, you should listen to you heart... And..." The crimson-eyed Kouri jerked her head upwards, gazing at the ceiling. She held out her hands and boasted with all her might

"I! AM! YOUR! HEART!"

"HAHAHAHAHA!! HAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Try to accept it, Kouri. That goody little two-shoes act is over! This is a petching harsh world... where beasts roam and devour everyone, even innocent people like us..." The phantom looked back at Kouri and knelt down, touching their foreheads together.

"No... no... n-no..." Kouri could only whimper and stutter, her mind in a battle between her original self and the insane part of her mind personified. "P-please... no..." She couldn't say much anymore. Her rationality went down to the drain, realizing all of this was a lie, a good lie; but a lie nonetheless.

"So... time to wake up, princess~" Kouri saw a familiar dangerous metallic glint at the corner of her eyes. A dagger... a steel dagger she so often used was floating in the air, held by the ghastly ethereal tendril that came out of her ghost self's back. "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-!" Her scream was abruptly cut as the dagger launched itself and stabbed her in the right eye.

Then everything went black... pitch black... her last vision was of her ghost self laughing like a mad little girl....

==================

"AAAAH?!" Kouri jolted her body. She opened her eyes to found the patrons of the Rearing Stallion staring at her. Some fearful, some angered, and some unamused. "...." She felt that she was not welcome anymore in this place so she quickly stood up and floated away. Phasing through the stallion's stone walls and appeared outside the tavern.

"W-what... happened?" Her memories was all jumbled, the last thing she could remember was someone approaching her and talked to her in the tavern, but she couldn't remember the person. Only... bits, like she remembered the person was a male, but just that... no other info.

But... I know who you are, Sir... I will find you... and when I found you, I will kill you... I will butcher you until even your mother couldn't recognize your bloody corpse... A voice in the back of her mind whispered, the little malicious devil did not take kindly to someone manipulating her.

"....." Deciding that nothing good would come from staying here, Kouri quickly floated away, heading to her favorite tree in the Bronze Woods.

You have just awakened me in the most interesting way... Sir Maduro... ehehehahahaha! For that... I thank you...
