Appearance: Due to his lifestyle and background most can pick Quinn out in a crowd. Standing at six foot two inches with wild brown hair and tanned skin, Quinn has a very fit physique, earned through hard labor and his general lifestyle. With leaf green eyes and clean shaven his chin he still holds onto his youth with ease, yet always seems to appear with an air of age. Quinn is naturally straight backed in posture and always goes barefoot which has left the soles of his feet thick with calluses on the heel and ball of each foot.

Personality: Devoted to physical health and his own martial art style and Wysar, Quinn often finds himself in spars or under the aid of various teachers to aid in improving his skills. He is not a violent man, over half of his arsenal of techniques involves reversals non-lethal stuns. He is constantly in search of three vital things. Mental Peace, Emotional stability and the Peak Physical Condition, and believes they can only be found through the mastery of each. Ethics: Though not particularly holy he is aligned to the side of Right versus Wrong. Often by helping others he feels it helps himself, the more he is forced to exert the less selfish that logic becomes. Likes: Physical exhaustion, stimulating conversation, sparring, learning, aiding others, the color green, and sweet fruits. Dislikes: Selfishness, senseless violence and death, lawbreakers, red meat, and stain glass art. |
Lores Lore of Wysar Lore of Survival and Self Mastery |
Childhood and Parenting Though his father was a wealthy man, he was a slob. Fat, emotionally erratic and mentally strained by the simple workings of the world, Quinn’s father is everything that Quinn does not want to be. Early on Quinn attempted to motivate his father to play, but no matter his pleads his father was too lazy to play any good games, and definitely would not exercise normally. The older Quinn grew, the more he grew away from his Father. In an attempt to buy his child’s love later in his childhood, Harold Harpe would spare no expense in hopes of righting wrongs he would never admit, even when Quinn spoke them aloud. As Quinn grew out of his child years and into his early teens, he left home and found himself on the doorstep of a devout worshiper of Wysar.
Though his father was never one to follow any god but those befitting of his greed, Wysar seemed almost a perfect choice. Though this new man who worshiped him told little, he knew Wysar was a god who he could look up to. The spring of 506 AV, that was when he started his journey of complete mastery of himself. He owned nothing, all his material goods left home with his father. He earned his money by working small jobs that required no skill, just a strong back. It was rough as a child of his early teens, but it was a life that set him in his ways.
It wasn’t long after he turned fifteen he decided to leave the kind old man’s house and find his own way. In a live or die situation he placed himself in the wilderness, little knowledge of how to survive, little more than his own hands to sustain his own life.
Young Adulthood and the Natural Fist At first it was rough, both finding food and fighting off wild animals, but the manual labor had strengthened his body, and returning to the city by day to work his odd jobs he still managed to buy his food and collect quite a fair amount of Mizas to his name. Surviving by night and working by day, he found what he was looking for. When physical exhaustion lulled him to sleep it was always the deepest and most comfortable, despite his location, and that alone would be enough to keep him content.
It was not even a season into his survival that he found something to only sweeten his life. He watches the rivers and feels the shift of winds through the wooded area, felt the sturdy earth beneath his feet and harnessed the power of fire. Starting simple, he began with the water, learning to move his body with that fluidity around anything in his way. Fighting wild animals aided this venture, redirecting attacks and keeping close like the river hugging the bend. Then fire, the fast, furious assault, consuming energy for powerful blows. Then to move like the wind, light and fast, around everything but never touched. The hardest was Earth, the ability to take whatever was given. It required the most physical strength, and it was the most painful to learn. He determined this as the four basic elements of life, the fundamentals of a new physical fitness form that branched into everything from combat to mental enlightenment.
Though he has become quite capable at his new skill he acknowledges there is still much to learn physically, and admits he has learned nothing of mental and spiritual. Even when he began to aid others for no profit he finds he is incapable of spiritual enlightenment alone. Falling back on what little he knew of Wysar, he believed dedication in his physical form would lead him into all branches of mastering himself. |
