The young man gave her a quick look as she suddenly spoke out to him, seemingly angry but not. He felt hurt by her comment. He had been getting used to the Zeltivan way of not having to take everything everybody said to you so it did hurt him more than expected to be called insane. Somehow, from somewhere deep in his mind a witty retort surfaced. "I'm not insane. So I guess I'm 'Or something'." He gave it a nod and for him that part of the conversation was over. Crossing his arms in front of his chest, he took a physically defencive stance as he looked at her. He just ignored her insane statement and his memory problem statement. He didn't have memory problems. He was Ortal. She was the captain. She had a name but he didn't remember it. They had just met in the middle of his training. He had overdone it and she had lifted him out of the water. Then they had asked questions for a bit and then she had proclaimed he was insane and had memory problems. He shook his head. Women. At least, with other men, he could understand their hate or their anger towards him, but with women, he didn't understand anything of it. And the University didn't have any books on the subject either so he was at a total loss when it came to the opposite sex. He was happy when she moved on from the subject and onto the places she had visited. There was something to learn there. So many places to go and see. He had never heard of Lhavit and quickly added it to one of the many mental lists in his head. Lhavit, something to look up. "Mura. That's an island, isn't it? Full of women." Where other boys or men his age would sound very eager and a little too excited by the thought of an island full of women, the young man sounded more dreadful and afraid at the prospect of an island full of women. "What other places are there along the coast? I know Sahova and Nyka are up north from here. Where else have you been?" At the mention of Sahova, his eyes seemed to twinkle, his youthful enthousiasm, which most other men reserved for an island full of women, seemed to spark up when he mentioned the Island of the undead researchers. "I've only ever seen Endrykas and Zeltiva. And I don't like Endrykas." He mumbled the last bit, while at the same time wondering why he told her something like that. Perhaps the Zeltivan influence was already starting to get to him. Although he found that he didn't dislike sharing information it also felt like he was giving her means of hurting him. For whatever reason. "Do you take passengers?" He tried to make it sound casually but the turning wheels in his head where unable to mask his eagerness at the idea of knowing someone with a ship who could potentially sail him to where he wanted to end up in the end. |
