Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

Sam blinked at that.

"Um, really? You would do that? I... well, I don't have much to pay you with... but you'll be welcome at my fire, and I'll share my food." He paused. "We do seem to make a fairly good team against rampaging beasts, no?"

Then he grinned. Fortune was finding favor with him suddenly and he wasn't sure how to take it.

"Well yea. I mean, besides the fact that I couldn't possibly spend my time better, I did enjoy the company. Maybe it'll do some good to return that favor." Aiken smiled himself, glad he found a way to finally make up for the healing, and to spend some time with other humans, besides Sam himself.

"Don't worry about payments or any of that... But yea. The wild things are no match for us, Aiken the Scarred Wolf and Sam the Curved-Sword-Bear-Stabber."

His grin refused to die down. Perhaps it was informal, but it almost felt like having a pavilion again, even if Sam was the only Drykas, Horse the only horse, and Aiken a kelvic he didn't truly know well enough to call family. But there was something to be said for the sort of trust he was showing.

Sam put out his hand to shake.

"Welcome to my pack, Aiken, at least until you get bored with me."

ooc: I think the Mizas were in the other thread >.>

Aiken shook his hand, glad to have made a friend in Sam. He was even happier that he was inviting him to his pack, something that wild animals usually didn't do. You needed to prove your worth and present a gift to the alpha of the pack, and being beaten on would be regular occurrence. "I'm sure it will take a lot for that to happen, have no worries. I could use an adventure though, so I hope its exciting and filled with violence. You know, if that's alright."

OOCOy, right you are. Fixed!

His grin intensified and he squeezed Aiken's hand with enthusiasm.

"This is so great," he gushed. "I'm sure there will be violence at some point. There are plenty of monsters on the plains, and game too so we won't go hungry, though I have plenty of elk stored just in case. I mean, fresh is better, but better salted meat than none at all, right?" He realized then that he was still pumping Aiken's hand in his excitement. "Sorry!" He released his hand and clapped him on the shoulder. "I'll distract them and you hamstring them, and then we'll take them down... whatever we face."

It all seemed logical and strategically sound to him. Plus, they would have Aren to help.

"So meet at dawn in five days outside the gates of Syliras. I'll be waiting a bit off from the gate, but if you don't feel like approaching the City, we'll be going southwest and you can catch up..."

"Of course. A bloody fate it will be for any foul beast that crosses our paths with any intention other than peace." Aiken backed away slightly, not wanting to blind Sam with the magical shift.

"I'll be there for sure. Well fed and ready for anything." He shifted then, quickly turning quadruped in a flash of swirling light. He never really understood why it needed to be so bright, he would have preferred something with a bluer hue than a white one. But the thought left his mind as the shook out his fur and brushed against Sam's leg to say goodbye. He howled once quickly and ran into the trees, off to catch his next meal before he passed out.
