Yuri looked up in sudden surprise from his lamenting as Rena stood in front of him, caressing his cheek gently. Yuri gazed with sorrowful green into kind violet, as the young ghost girl smiled at him kindly. How long has it been, since someone had looked at him so kindly? "Tha... thank you Miss Rena..." Yuri bowed his head, exhaling a nonexistent breath shakily, and looked back up at Rena, smiling sadly. Some long buried sad emotion made Yuri just want to embrace the girl and weep, but he refrained, he had shed enough tears today.
That was when Yuri noticed Rena's slight faltering as she looked back at her older sister, and he saw Kouri's unsettling grin. This bolted Yuri out of his dreary state; could it be Miss Kouri was enjoying his sadness and tears?! No, Kouri wasn't that kind of a person, was she? Yuri looked with concern at Kouri, her grin putting him off; it reminded him of something he didn't want to be reminded of. Of a certain spiritist from his past and the ghosts who followed him gleefully. Yet, he remained silent about Kouri's... odd grin. Yuri brushed it aside for now, but his concern remained. There was definitely more to Kouri underneath, something more unsettling.
Yuri's eyes widened for a second as Kouri proudly displayed her soulmist tendrils gleefully. Just for a second, as his eyes relaxed and Yuri observed Kouri as calmly as he could. She really did surpass his skill by leaps and bounds, and was far more dangerous then he was. The way she manipulated that number of soulmist tendrils, it was startling. Yuri laughed weakly with Kouri, "Yes, I'm sure it will be fun Miss Kouri, training together..."
Looking at Kouri, Yuri could clearly sense something was not right with her. Beneath her cheerful girlish exterior, was something more darker. Something more demonic in nature. But far from frightening the male ghost, it only made Yuri more concerned for Kouri; what could be driving such an innocent girl to insanity? It seemed the only thing keeping Kouri sane was her little sister Rena, much like how music had calmed Yuri. After all, Yuri himself had dealt with a inner demon... his own psychotic madness and vengeance which now lays dormant, or so he hoped. Yuri also was not exempt from insanity, it was merely sleeping right now. If only he could help her... but how? Oh what am I thinking? She's just a girl, no need to worry. But he still worried.
Seeing the Kouri's excited reaction to his offer to teach her possession, Yuri merely smiled gently at her. So childlike, and yet, not so... "You seem rather excited Miss Kouri." Yuri remained seated as Kouri jumped up and down in front of him. "But why? Is there a reason you want to learn it so badly?" Saying this, Yuri also thought to himself: Why do I want to develop my soulmist projection? He hesitated to answer himself, full-knowing the answer: Revenge... "Well, once we find someone to practice on, we can start!" Yuri grinned jovially to Rena, despite his inner thoughts.
"Alright then Miss Kouri..." Yuri remained sitting with Rena clinging to his side. "I'm sure its nothing dangerous Miss Rena, nothing your sister can't handle." Yuri smiled reassuringly at Rena, kindly as an older brother does to a younger sister.
Yuri strained to listenin the direction that Kouri headed off to. Was that... pleading he heard? Yuri furrowed his brows in worry. Don't tell me Miss Kouri scared some hapless person taking a stroll! He looked down at Rena who was at his side. Then, he noticed that the pleading suddenly stopped. Still concerned, Yuri looked down at Rena who was still at his side. "Why don't we check on what your sister is doing? Seems whatever was making that noise stopped." Yuri waited for Rena to detach herself then jumped back up, gliding quickly to where Kouri was.
Upon arriving, Yuri found Kouri floating over the fallen form of a human hunter. "What did you do Miss Kouri!" Worried, Yuri knelt down by the fallen man's form. Coalescing his soulmist over his etheral form, Yuri materialized himself and checked the man's pulse."Oh dear, he's out cold isn't he?" Yuri shook his head disapprovingly at Kouri, but found he couldn't help himself from grinning to his own surprise. "You didn't have to go this far just to find someone to practice on Miss Kouri. Scaring people out of their wits and making them faint, heh." Yuri chuckled softly as he propped the man against a tree, carefully letting the head fall forward slowly.
"Now... let's practice shall we?" Yuri smiled cheerfully at Kouri and Rena, his emotions flipped from worry and concern to that of gleeful enjoyment, as something that Yuri thought was dormant stirred. |
