10th of Spring 506AV

A chilling sigh seemed to leave the lips of the young figure with golden brown eyes, it was a sigh laced with many things, frustration, boredom, anger, lust. It was a sigh one bore whenever they seemed to harbour many thoughts, woven together only to return held with blackened reins of problems.

Senghor Vilhjalmr gazed at the monolithic selves, sprawled with bodies of books, statues of deities, which he seemed to not care about, and other less intriguing elements.

"Why am I here again?" he asked himself as he raised his right arm, hiding his palm behind his head only let his fingernails scrape gently at his skin, his fingertips brushing gently at the the strands of his fine hair.

It was a library, Seng didn't detest them he just found that reading for so long was quite boring, it didn't appease his appetite for knowledge for he didn't find anything worth reading as a child. Yet, this was the Wright Memorial Library of Zeltiva, surly it'd have something to grasp his attention, his fervour for something he'd later use in life... But mostly, it was so he'd let his mind be at ease from the past day's little 'accident' as he'd now come to know it, he and the one they'd branded the name Eridanus has a little argument about his father 'Asad' Vilhjalmr as he'd come to be known by a few.

Once again, another sigh left the lips of the young Vilhjalmr as he walked around the hall of of knowledge looking for something to read, as he walked by each column of books, nothing hardened his gaze.

So many of these books, written documents and scripts given identity yet none came to him, his hollowed footsteps breaking the silence as he turned his blessed gaze towards a etched paper, erected slyly out of the shelf. A hum seemed to emit from the throat of the desert skinned male, inclining his head towards the jagged book, his profound steps were quickly dead as he reached the book, his finger pushed it down and the elderly leather bound book seemed to cough dust as Senghor's palm clasped around it and pulled it from its dormant slumber.

It was a plain shade of brown, dressed with grey and age, or lack of readers. Encrusted with golden italics which read, Kings of the Sky, Eagles - Anonymous.

"Interesting..." were the only words that left his lips as he looked at the unorthodox method of the books binding, it's method of writing and wording as he gazed the first uninformative pages of the book.

Yet when he came to the leading factor of the book, things began to be interesting. Without a subtitle of any form, the page read...

The Golden Eagle is one of the largest, fastest, nimblest raptors in
Mizahar. Lustrous gold feathers gleam on the back of its
head and neck; a powerful beak and talons advertise its hunting
prowess. You're most likely to see this eagle in western Mizahar, Kalea
and/or Falyndar soaring on steady wings or diving in pursuit of the
jackrabbits and other small mammals that are its main prey.
Sometimes seen attacking large mammals, or fighting off coyotes
or bears in defense of its prey and young, the Golden Eagle has
long inspired both reverence and fear.
...

Senghor was intrigue at the ferocity of this eagle, this beast which harboured the sky with a mastery of both death and skill, he'd even forgot where he was, as he kept reading the novel of warrior beauty before him.
From the soil we came, From the soil we conquered,
My past is dead, my path dark, my rage is the herald of my blade.

[Wright Memorial Library]Learn to Change, and Change to Lear

Size & Shape

Golden Eagles are one of the largest
birds in the North. The wings
are broad like a Red-tailed Hawk's, but longer. At distance, the head is
relatively small and the tail is long,
projecting farther behind than the
head sticks out in front

This bird, was one of poetic words and appearance, afar it bore the grace of a another yet it held its own mantle.

Color Pattern

Adult Golden Eagles are dark brown
with a golden sheen on the back of
the head and neck. For their first
several years of life, young birds
have neatly defined white patches
at the base of the tail and in the wings.

Behavior

Usually found alone or in pairs, Golden Eagles typically soar order
glide with wings lifted into a slight “V” and the wingtip feathers
spread like fingers. They capture prey on or near the ground,
locating it by soaring, flying low over the ground, or hunting from
a perch

"This hunting method is interesting, yet I don't have the ability to fly..." he said quietly to himself as he pictured the eagle in his mind, he saw it as it outstretched talons, sharp nails projecting nothing but death and killer intent, a lone squirrel unknowingly given death as the large bird took it to the valley of nothingness...

"Hmm... Interesting. If..." he paused momentarily as he reread the paragraph to get another picture, another way to hunt. He saw that if he could utilize the trees as the eagle utilized the skies, hunting, tracking and even killing in the wildlands would be a simplified task. Senghor smirked as he took to play the vast images repeatedly in his head, seeing the hunt again and again, and again.

He wondered, thought of when and how he might utilize it as he dropped his head back towards the pages of the book, continuing to quench his thirst of intrigue.

Habitat

Golden Eagles favor partially or completely open country,
especially around mountains, hills, and cliffs. They use a variety of
habitats ranging from arctic to desert, including tundra,
shrublands, grasslands, coniferous forests, farmland, and areas
along rivers and streams. Found mostly in the western half of the
Mizahar as they are rare in eastern parts...

"I see..." Senghor said studiously whilst reading the page through again for a clearer overview, he turned towards the slightly empty library and coughed, feeling slightly strange at how intrigued he was, about a bird no less.

[Wright Memorial Library]Learn to Change, and Change to Lear

Golden Eagles live in open and semiopen country featuring native
vegetation across most of the Northern Hemisphere. They avoid
developed areas and uninterrupted stretches of forest. They are
found primarily in mountains up to 12,000 feet, canyonlands,
rimrock terrain, and riverside cliffs and bluffs. Golden Eagles nest
on cliffs and steep escarpments in grassland, chapparal,
shrubland, forest, and other vegetated areas.
Senghor's features seemed to tightened as he read through the paragraph momentarily, deep into thought before continuing.

Food

Golden Eagles prey mainly on small to medium-sized mammals,
including hares, rabbits, ground squirrels, prairie dogs, and
marmots. Black-tailed jackrabbits are a key prey species
throughout much of their range. These eagles are also capable of
taking larger bird and mammal prey, including cranes, swans,
deer, and domestic livestock. They have even been observed
killing seals, mountain goats, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, coyotes,
badgers, and bobcats. In addition to live prey, Golden Eagles often
feed on carrion, following crows and other scavengers to a meal.
They also catch fish, rob nests, and steal food from other birds.

Nesting

Nest Description

Starting 1–3 months before egg-laying, a Golden Eagle pair builds a
nest of sticks and vegetation—sometimes also including bones,
antlers, and human-made objects such as wire and fence posts.
They line the nest with locally available vegetation, such as yucca,
grasses, bark, leaves, mosses and lichens, or conifer boughs.
They often include aromatic leaves, possibly to keep insect pests
at bay. Resident birds continue adding nest material year-round,
reusing the same nest for multiple seasons and sometimes
alternating between two nests. Nests are huge, averaging some
5-6 feet wide, and 2 feet high, enclosing a bowl about 3 feet by 2
feet deep. The largest Golden Eagle nest on I've recorded was 20 feet tall,
8.5 feet wide.

Nest Placement

Golden Eagles usually nest on cliffs. They
may also build nests in trees, on the
ground, or in human-made structures,
including windmills, observation towers,
nesting platforms, and
towers. Constructed near
hunting grounds, Golden Eagle nests often
command a wide view of their
surroundings.

Behavior
Golden Eagles possess astonishing speed and maneuverability for
their size. Diving from great heights, they have been clocked at
close to 200 miles per hour.

In an undulating territorial and
courtship display known as “sky-dancing,” a Golden Eagle
performs a rapid series of up to 20 steep dives and upward
swoops, beating its wings three or four times at the top of each
rise. In “pendulum flight,” the eagle dives and rises, then turns
over to retrace its path.

Single birds and pairs engage in aerial play
with objects such as sticks or dead prey, carrying these items
high into the sky, then dropping and retrieving them. In addition
to attacking prey from the air, Golden Eagles sometimes hunt on
the ground, wildly flapping as they run. Mated pairs hunt
jackrabbits cooperatively during breeding season — one eagle
diverting the animal’s attention while the second makes the kill.

Senghor gazed down upon the book with a great intrigue, wonder and lust for more... He'd learnt so many this from this one bird and felt a need to become one, to turn and morph into this great eagle. He removed one of his hands of from the book and looked at it, he clenched his fist slightly and felt a sensual flow spiritual energy move through him, he and all others knew it as Djed, the backbone of all things, of oneness to him, it was what molded some and broke the rest.

As he looked at his palm amass of concentration he felt as it moved through his body and into his palm, slightly a slight grotesque flow of tendrils moved through his palm.

"Shyke!!" Senghor swore as he stepped back and shook his palm vigorously to shake off the mass he'd created, his eyes fell back to his hand and there was... Nothing. He'd even dropped his book, and placed his palm over his chest whilst the other fell upon the shelf for balance.

"The hell was I thinking..." he said as he looked down at the book, he bent down to pick it up, he wasn't done learning from this book, he hungered for more, and he'd get fill his hunger as he continued to read...
