The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

OOCI have been under the impression we were around trees xD Sorry. I have since edited my trees into tall bushes! lol
Perish sighed, hoping they could have at least marveled at the portal some more before walking off. Maybe I should have brought the Bow and gotten some practice with it too, he shrugged his shoulders quietly,oh well. He wanted to attempt to move the portal but he knew it would just tire him out more. He instead began to fill the void with the matter he had previously emptied out before. The swirly vortex started to collapse on itself, Perish continued to will it to close filling its core with matter and hoping nothing happened to his brothers. Where the portal use to be now had pieces of the grass missing.

As soon as he finished he started scratching the ground with his claws by crouching in the tall grass. Maybe this will catch her attention, he slid his claws on the ground so that it made enough noise to prick the horses' ears. Even if he didn't always want harm to come to some of the other species besides animals, he never wanted harm to come to his brothers. If he had to he would step outside. There were times when Agony would bicker about how soft he was but he didn't care about that he still cared for his brother. Ruin was the same, Perish thought of him as the older one being born first as well as the leader of the trio.

He heard Ruin crashing somewhere against the ground, his sensitive ears picked up that much. Agony on the other hand was probably still somewhere in the sky. Bow and arrow could be a fierce combination when trying to shoot birds, but Zith weren't like birds and take to being shot a lot more violently than birds did.

She frowned as only one of her arrows had hit, and as Aleksander's form became nervous. She gripped the end of the arrow, ready for what would come at her first. Aleksander became spooked by the odd clawing at the ground which came from the bushes.

He rose until his hind legs, kicking about his front ones, causing her to go crashing to the ground below. "Alek!" She croaked, taking in deep breaths, the fall had knocked the wind out of her. Aleksander had charged off down the path, too spooked to noticed he had lost her.

Senre rolled to her side, coughing, there being a slight possibility she cracked a rib or two. Her bow landed a few feet away from her, the two arrows she had held not far from it. She squinted, trying to look around her to see if anyone was near.

Fortunately (depending on your point of view) Ruin actually was quite close. He was only moments from leaping out of the grass to take her from behind whenever the horse decided to knock her to the ground and speed off like his life depended on it, which was actually the case. Ruin slowly placed his foot on the bow, not putting so much pressure that the material would snap, but enough to make it impossible for Senre to try anything too quickly. He was glaring down at her with vicious green eyes as he bent over and snagged the bow, tossing over towards the suspiciously large tree-like bushes that he heard clawing noises from, surely that was Perish doing who-knows-what. Ruin heard the girl cough, and judging by the way she was holding her chest (I assume she did if she thought her ribs were cracked) he decided she was wounded, out, no longer able to struggle.

"Agony, I've got the human girl. She's hurt herself." Ruin spoke in the natural Zith tongue as he glanced over at his brother, seeing now the arrow plainly sticking out of his arm. If Ruin and his brothers had been human, Ruin's face would have turned pale, but he was a Zith, he was more calm than this, and he obviously wasn't dead. Somewhere along the line the attack had a flaw. Probably Perish again. "Come here Perish, help me get the human. We need to fly away before the Drykas come. Certainly they know of our presence."

Ruin, the whole time, stuck to his native tongue, as he had no desire to communicate with the human yet. He could speak some common, but that would be later, perhaps if he didn't cut out her tongue with his claws. There would be punishment for Agony's pains, that's assured.

Ruin reached down, grabbing at Senre's arm. His claws were not held so that they would tear her skin, or even touch for that matter, but should she anger him, the circumstances were likely to change.

"It's about time," he muttered, his meaning undecipherable to any but other Zith. Ruin may have been the hunter of the family, but he certainly wasn't the planner. But all's well that ends well, after all... or, mostly, anyway.

Agony still had that arrow in his arm, but he couldn't help but admire the tenacity of the one who had put it there. It was almost like respecting a wild animal for giving you a good run for your money. Of course, that didn't keep you from eating it, or skinning it, or even using it's bones as a soup spoon.

Snapping the back end of the shaft in half, Agony thought this might be a good opportunity to remove the annoying hunk of wood and metal from his skin. Though he was pulling the entrenched projectile out at an agonizing pace, nary a sound or hint of discomfort was visible on the Zith. Agony promptly clasped his arm with as a strong a grip as he could muster, as soon as he remembered that holes in your body tend to annoyingly bleed, a lot.

As he looked down on their fallen prey, his face remained unchanging. No sign of pain, malice, or even anger. "She'll make good eatin'." This, Agony purposely spoke in Common, knowing full well the girl was almost certain to understand exactly what he meant by that. Having been cursed with a rather sadistic sense of humor, he found it amusing to give her a glimpse of her future, letting her despair in the thought of it.

Finally, it seemed as if the girl was caught. He didn't know whether the horse was scared off by his quick clawing on the ground, he did know that the job was done. He slowly got up and stretched and looked at his two brothers who stood near over the girl. He almost got stuck between the string and the bow that was thrown at him but he kept it with him. Agony seemed alright even when hit, he always did. Perish joined the other two in surrounding the girl, although he didn't exactly agree with it he didn't show it. He held the bow in his hand ready to toss it aside if told it would slow them down, which it would. He would always try to show his brothers that he didn't care for the other species so that they don't consider him useless but acting didn't come easy to him.

"So who's going to be chasing after the horse this time?" he asked with a grin. He said it in his native tounge which always came out as a high pitched noise that other humanoids besides Zith couldn't understand. He knew they would forget the horse, it's dangerous. The horse probably had gone far enough to catch attention by now. He heard Agony talk in common and he was tempted to say something else but he kept his mouth shut. He thought about it in his head instead and was amused by it.

He didn't show his amusement but instead looked at the girl and gave her a smile. This expression though might look wrong to her, as if Perish couldn't wait to eat her. He walked closer to the girl ready to carry her away, "Whenever your ready Ruin".

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

Postby Senre on July 19th, 2010, 6:00 pm

Senre's hand smacked away Ruin's . She could barely handle being around so many people, like she would be able to handle being touched by something that seemed out to kill her. She had grown confused, not understanding the words they were speaking, but Agony's words pierced her ear drums like her arrow had pierced his arm.

Her eyes grew wide and she placed her hands over her ears, her mind scrambling for an answer Eat me... Why... Why eat me.. What did I do... It would take only seconds before her mind drew blank, her lips parted. Producing a very loud, hollow scream.

Her screaming stopped short and her hands moved to her chest, the back of her throat burned. Her arms moved to hug herself, bent over herself as she coughed, she must of cracked something, perhaps even broken it. Her breathing came as sharp gasps, as if she found pain in inhaling. Her body slowly built up panic, too much all at once, it was all too much for her.

Senre's deep green eyes closed tightly, her body setting into a tremble. She looked, almost, like an abused animal.

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

Postby Ruin on July 19th, 2010, 6:33 pm

A low rumbling growl echoed from Ruin's throat as his hand was swatted away, but as she screamed, and then curled over in pain, he realized she really was hurt. Agony would not be happy that a bone or two was unnecessarily flawed, but no matter. He would live, even with an arrow in his arm. However, instead of wailing on the helpless girl, Ruin stood over her, bent over, and lifted her up into his arms. Whether she squirmed or not now(he assumed the more she fought, the more pain she'd cause herself) did not matter, he held on, and would dig into her flesh with his claws if she dared to struggle to much. "No moving." Ruin's common tongue was poor. Compared to his brothers, who have both had moderate experience with those that spoke it (thus they both new some form of magic), Ruin's knowledge was pathetic. Ruin was simply the orthodox one. Magic had no use to him, he thought, common tongue was pointless, he believed, and sympathy (something that seemed to only exist in Perish really) was unheard of in Ruin. The most sympathy he ever gave his brothers was the fear of their deaths.

Ruin spoke again in his Zith language. "I'm keeping this one alive. She will serve us until she is useless or we are more desperate to eat. For now, she will fix the damage she had caused, she will teach us anything of value she may know. If she proves useless..." Ruin didn't need to go on, they would understand completely the threat on the girl. If she was more of a hassle than a use, she would die. It was that simple. "I'll take her as she is, her body hurts her, she'll not fight long. Perish, watch over Agony. If he doesn't make it home, you'll die." Ruin grinned, his brothers should very well know that he'd never kill either one of them, whether he could or not. It was also a sort of light jab at Agony for taking a hit, yet also a command to Perish, since he appeared to be completely useless in the small struggle against a single lone human girl. Suffering anything less than a flawless hunt was a shame for Ruin.

He again spoke in his broken common, repeating what he earlier said. "No moving." And with that, his large wings began to beat the air, slowly pulling him off the ground. It was more difficult to fly with additional weight tossed onto his own, but she was, thankfully, shorter and lighter, making it at least bearable. And with that, he began towards their little cave home. Ruin was obviously eager to get out before the risk of the Drykas coming was upon them. Those men were far more dangerous than Senre, even though she proved to be a hassle herself.

The girl's screams certainly pleased Agony, but as Ruin ordered Perish to watch over him, the blue eyed Zith almost felt insulted. As if he needed to be looked after, least of all by Perish. He was more likely to annoy a problem to death, than actually solve it.

Able to fly just as well as Ruin, perhaps even better now that his brother was carrying additional weight, Agony lifted off into the sky shortly after him. "Come on, Perish," he uttered, before he had gotten too far. It wouldn't do for him to stay behind, as Drykas liked to come around and investigate disturbances occurring in the Sea of Grass.

Perish wasn't exactly the most physically impressive Zith specimen to be found, but he could certainly keep up with one wounded brother, and another one burdened by a passenger. Agony expected him to be on his toes, too, as their condition meant he was going to have to make himself more useful than he usually was, if something happened. Either that, or Ruin was going to have to drop his passenger mid-flight, and this was an all around undesirable outcome, for all parties involved. With any luck, however, the trip back home would be a little less uneventful than the hunt itself.

Flying alongside his brother, Agony looked down at the trickle of blood managing to escape from between the fingers which plugged the hole in his arm, "I hope you remember that it was I who bled for your recklessness..." He just thought he'd drop that in there, in what he was almost certain was a vain attempt to curve his brother's foolishness in future situations.

He was glad they weren't going to kill her just yet. As long as she was useful they wouldn't have to kill her and could keep her as a slave, which mean't Perish might hear some stories from her. He got very little chance to learn about what goes on beyond their caves. After Ruin was done talking Perish responded to him with a grin and a nod before he started lifting away with the girl. Perish turned to Agony to examine the damage but he started to fly away. Perish cocked his head to the side and started to flap his wings, soaring higher into the air. He caught up to Agony and flew beside his two brothers in the dead of night. He held the girls bow in her hand as he flew besides his brothers, they didn't comment about it at all.

He listened to Agony and shrugged his shoulders speaking in his native tounge again, "It wouldn't be the first time, you'll be alright Agony". He smiled, flashing his teeth as he did and thought silently to himself. I should practice more of my magic, being useless all the time won't serve me when I'm in my own helpless situation. He flapped his wings, flying through the night sky. He spoke in common, "Girl, if you want to live longer it would do you good to not move while he is carrying you. He might drop you and you would not want that".

Him and Agony studied magic under a slave teacher who spoke mostly common, they were more fluent at it then Ruin just because of that fact. Perish was just influenced differently by the person he was taught rather than Agony. If not for that he would have been the same as Ruin, which isn't a bad thing at all.

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

Postby Senre on July 20th, 2010, 7:36 am

Senre's body shook violently, her hands gripping the sides of her shirt. Thick tears swept from her eyes, out of a pain and fear. Her body curling up as tightly as she could manage, her hair beginning to stick to her wet cheeks. The dirt on her cheeks mixing with her tears to create mud.

As Ruin lifted her, her body twisted as if she was going strike him, but the pain in her rips caused her to draw back. Once her arms returned to her side she heard his words...

"No moving"

She bit down into her lower lip, she wasn't going to let him just carry her away, but she had forgotten all about his wings . Once his feet left the ground she just curled tighter around herself, not wanting to be dropped. She was almost afraid of heights, but she seemed to be afraid of several things.

"No moving"

His words rang in her ear drums as he spoke them the second time, but she couldn't help the slightly moving of her bodies trembling. Her eyes slid open as more words were spoken this time, a voice she hadn't heard yet.

"Girl, if you want to live longer it would do you good to not move while he is carrying you. He might drop you and you would not want that"

She couldn't see who had spoke, so her eyes slowly set close again, but her lips parted, producing. "Senre.... My name... Senre.." Her voice was soft and gentle, despite the mess that she had seem to get herself into.
