When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

Ruin grinned lightly, she was mostly compliant now. In his arms like a docile child, she wouldn't struggle now, not until she had strength at least, and by then she would be in so much Shyke that she wouldn't have the slightest chance in Ryhsol's Gaze to get free. She was his now. First off, Ruin had to retort to Agony, perhaps it was his own fault, but there wasn't even a chance that he would accept something like that. "If you were stronger, you wouldn't have been hit by such an obvious attack." Ruin spoke as if he actually saw the attack coming, and in a way he did, though that was solely because Agony was the initial target, giving Ruin time to respond. As stated though, Ruin refused to take responsibility for that.

Besides, they all knew that if Perish was hit, it would demand a brutal teasing for days and days. At least Ruin gave Agony a chance to take his injury in silence.

As the girl began trembling, Ruin couldn't help but chuckle behind closed lips. He had forgotten that she still believes she was to be their main dish. Surely she would find comfort that she would survive a few days at least. However, there needed to be a few changes. "Not Seenee (a horrible mispronunciation of her name). Shrill is name yours." Ruin nodded to himself as he renamed Senre. He didn't care if Perish and Agony named her something else, or even, perhaps, used her real name, but she was Shrill to him (mainly because of the screeching scream she offered when she first realized she was caught), and that meant she was to respond to it and address herself as Shrill from now on, at least when she was around him.

"Perish, you can keep that bow if Agony does not want it, otherwise fight for it. Tomorrow night perhaps Shrill will be well enough to teach you how to fight." To a human, that statement may have seemed genuine, but to Ruin, it was a remark against Perish's inability to perform combat in any proficient way. Ruin, of course, chuckled in a brief low rumbling voice as he did so.

OOCOnce they make it to the cave, I'll end this thread and start up the next one, in the cave itself. Also guys, remember that you can go off and do your own things as well as whatever we do. Just keep track of the time stamps so that they are reasonable and don't overlap and such.

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

OOCOkay, this orangy-yellow color will be my "speaking in common" color from now on. Didn't like that dark red.

Ruin refused to accept any kind of blame for what had happened to Agony, just as he had expected. His brother's excuses and justifications never really surprised the blue eyed Zith, but he knew that boundless arrogance was going to get him in real trouble one of these day. Agony simply hoped he would be there that day, just as he was today.

"Shrill... I like it." He flew closer to Ruin, inspecting the human girl's frail form. "You hear that? Your name is Shrill now. Who you were before doesn't exist anymore." Stripping a slave's defiance was very important, especially if she was going to be kept for any length of time. Agony wanted to make sure their captive didn't get any bright ideas about murdering them in their sleep, or something to that effect, and so she had to look upon them almost as gods. She had to know that her life depended solely on their whims, and that she could die at any moment, simply because they demand it.

This process could take a while, but even if she told them only what they wanted to hear, this would indicate that she did indeed fear them, and fear was an excellent start. "So, tell me again... what's your name?" Agony gazed upon Senre, those emotionless blue eyes perfectly hiding his intent, should she answer incorrectly.

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

Postby Perish on July 20th, 2010, 10:37 pm

Ruin had decided to call her shrill, Perish decided to call her Senre whenever the two of them weren't around to hear him. He held the bow in his hand, he didn't need it since he already had one back home but he didn't mind keeping the arrows. The only time they found arrows were while they were hunting, it wasn't like they could use the mizas they found to go into town and buy equipment. "I'm just holding on to the bow I already have one, maybe Agony might have use for it", he said in his native tounge.

He understood what they were trying to do, it was what they usually did to their slaves. To make them understand that they were property now, that they didn't have any control of their own life. Senre in particular now belonged to Ruin as she will for a long time unless a stroke of luck finds her and she escapes. The Zith did not believe in luck, or rather Perish didn't. He continued to flap his wings besides Agony waiting for Senre to answer the question.

If she answered wrong Perish knew they will be some shrilling tonight.

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

Her trembling slowly started to stop, leaving only her hands shaking as they gripped at her shirt.

"Not Seenee (a horrible mispronunciation of her name). Shrill is name yours."

She slowly blinked, trying to process what the hell the male just said, she wondered if she should inform him that his common was very poor... pathetic even.

"You hear that? Your name is Shrill now. Who you were before doesn't exist anymore."

Her deep green eyes shifted to Agony as he spoke, then she understood what the male before had said. He decided to rename her, and to a hideous name at that.

"So, tell me again... what's your name?"

Her jaw set, and she starred at Agony with vividly rejecting eyes. "Senre. S-E-N-R-E." She spelled it out in hopes that he would understand, and that Ruin would learn to pronounce it.

When the Grass Slumbers [Agony, Perish, Senre]

Ruin frowned lightly, though the darkness of the night would keep that little expression from the human girl's eyes. He was apparently wrong in his assumption. She was going to struggle, perhaps not physically, it would be very foolish of her to try and get out of his grip, especially now that the Zith brothers were flying over the landscape of vicious jagged rocks, somewhere within was their small cave, which would feel even smaller with a new addition in the space. Ruin decided not to punish the girl yet, instead, he would allow Agony to discipline, he was probably ready to give a little payback anyhow. Ruin on the other hand could go for a rest. Carrying the girl by himself so far was a little more taxing that he originally expected, not that he'd admit it. In fact, he'd try to pass it off like it was simple.

"Shrill wants dying. Hmm?" Ruin peered back at Agony and grinned, nodding lightly. It was a sign he's recognize as, 'as soon as I set her down, scold her.' "Agony love dying them." Ruin continued to speak in his poor common, trying to say something along the lines of 'Agony loves to kill people', a subtle but powerful threat to the girl. She could struggle and make herself as useless as she wanted, but with each resistance, her change of survival fell a little more, each time.

Finally Ruin stepped into the cave, thankful to give his wings a rest, and he quickly moved inside. With the night still full, there was nothing that allowed Senre to see at all. No light, nothing. However, Ruin was able to maneuver perfectly, good old Zith always coming in handy, avoiding a few barrels, Agony's bunk, and moving more towards the back, where he dropped the captive, Senre, onto his own bed. Without a word, he began to unravel the rope at his waist. To those that could see in the dark, it was obvious what he was going to do. Binding her against his notorious ten foot pole to make sure she did not try to throttle them as they slept. That would be most unfortunate. "No moving." Ruin spoke his most repeated common phrase of the night once again as he snatched Senre's legs and quickly tied them together at the ankles. If she decided to resist, which he, again, assumed wouldn't be likely with her wounded chest, he would simply sit on her while he went to work, and if that didn't work, pain would follow.

"No moving."

End, Picking up at a New Thread.
