((Please don't be bothered by the plainness of this post, I haven't made a fancy postscript for Desi yet! XD))
Timestamp Summer 513, Day 43
Time: After Dark
Location: Heading toward the city itself, flying above the fields.
Night had finally fallen across the Syliras region, the sky fading to a velvety black, the stars glittering overhead like a myriad of crystals, the crescent moon bright enough to light the way of the nocturnally inclined. It was a rather pleasant night, well, as pleasant as summer nights could be, at the very least. It could not be described as silent, for there was always some sort of noise, if one just took the time to pay attention to their surroundings. A warm breeze rustled the grasses of the fields and nocturnal animals were beginning to stir from their slumber.
The nighttime traveler understood full well that it was rarely a wise idea to travel alone-- but she had so far had no difficulties; mainly because she preferred to take to the air when she was not in a city or town and she had yet to encounter a bird of prey or worse that took to the sky after sunset. Had she been traveling by day, she would have doubtlessly been spotted by the Knights or someone else-- and that may not have ended well. As it was, she would have to be on her best behavior during her stay once she arrived in the city: she had heard that her kind was oftentimes viewed with suspicion there and even looking at someone wrong could end her in quite a bit of trouble. While she wasn't the kind to cause trouble, she just had to remind herself to be even more careful than normal, once she would reach the city.
But such thoughts could wait until she actually reached the castle-city proper. For the time being, what mattered was just enjoying herself until she reached her destination. Flight was her preferred method of travel and regardless of how many times she banked and glided, rolled and soared, there was something about such actions that were rather enjoyable; especially when an updraft caught her wings and lifted her even higher. If asked, the Zith woman would not be able to explain her thoughts about flight, but it wasn't exactly like she would try to explain anyhow.
There was no denying that her flight was lazy that night. She was in absolutely no rush and she could not yet see the main gates of the castle-city. While she did want to alleviate her boredom and at least tour the city itself, possibly even purchase a few things, she would not hurry unless there was a reason. Her wings flapped lazily, languidly, as she continued onward.
((Definitely not my best, but my very first post is usually not too great. XD))
