Solo First Bounty

Riverfall 9th Summer 513 AV Once again he was at the front gates leaning on the wall scoping the crowd for his target. It had been a week now, and he was getting tired of looking for a man that he wasn't even sure existed,let alone that had what he was hired to look for. It was a week ago, and a messenger found him holding a letter sent to him by an unknown sender. The letter contained a brief discription of who and what he was looking for. "A human male, Bald, scar running from his fore head to his left jaw. Is carrying a very important item. DO NOT DAMAGE THE ITEM UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. You have six days to get the package, on the sixth day meet at the bakery. If you do not show by the sixth day then you will be hunted and turned in to the guards." he read the letter in his head and opened the small sack tied to it to containing 150 gold mizas and a note saying "You will get the rest upon delivery. I want the item, I do not care for the man. Good luck." He let the weight of the sack rest in his palm. He knew he could really use the money and took the job without thinking twice. Now it was his fifth day sitting at the main gates waiting for a bald human carrying a package. "Like that's going to be easy." He spoke aloud to Duse who gave a mental grunt. He watched the humans one by one in and out of the gates. Merchants, travelers, visitors people of all sorts came and went but no one matching the description that he had been given. This was his last day and if he didn't make any progress before closing time of the bakery tommorrow he would be in deep waters. This job was hard for him, it was his first job at that and he was about to fail miserably. "No. There has to be something that we are missing." he spoke mentally this time as he focused on the crowd glancing atop of all the heads that moved into the city. He was ready to give up. Maybe bounty hunting wasn't for him...Neither was jail or what ever other punishment the guards could come up with if his secret employer felt that he took the coin and did not do his job. "What am I looking for?" he asked himself as he studied the people coming into the city. Everyone had boxes, supplies a full head of hair, and a horse or cart to carry their thin...His thought was cut off by a group of tourist walking through the gates supplies in hand with no horse or mule carrying them. "That's it." the two Akalak said at the same time causing them to switch. Duce hated when that happend. Usually he was out in the physical all the time, but there were those moments where if they both agree on the same thing and Duse gave more energy than he did, it would throw off their balance and he would take control. He idled in the suspended space of their mind watching the surroundings as Duse took over. He stretched his limbs leting his bones pop releiving him of his stiffness and letting his mind adjust to being back in the physical. "Now what are we looking for?" his hazel eyes adjusting to the light of the sun. "Ok the man we are looking for may not be coming in with a horse, and since its hot right now then he also may be wearing a hat or using something to cover his head from the heat. Duse started walking through the sea of the crowd. Now that he knew what he was actually looking for, it made it easier for him to cross out those that didn't match the new description given. He quickly crossed out those with hair and horses, also all females considering that the target was male. That left a selct few left for them to choose. The rest of the group were Akalak and Drykas. "Maybe he didn't show up yet?" Duce spoke mentally trying to be open minded to the situation "Or we just passed him or missed him on our way up here." Duse retorted. He slid onto the ground where he stood once again watching the crowd. He wondered what was their next move going to be if they couldn't find this man. "There!" Duce's voice booming in his ear scaring him half to death. "Where?" He asked standing up looking in all directions until he spotted him. There he was walking up the road and turning right passing the Blue Bull. Duse was amped. Finally some action. He raced up the road and around the Blue Bull trying to keep an eye on the target. "Not so fast. Do you want to be noticed?" Duce scolded Duse. "Shut up I got this. You sound just like father." he said pinning his back against the stable wall and going around the back of it to close the distance between the two. He seen him on the other side of the stables standing on the side of the street as if he were wating for someone. Duse quietly moved behind him. Making sure to move with the sounds of the horses whining. "Gotcha." he said as he pulled the man behind the stables covering his mouth so he could not call for help. "Don't hurt him. Duce demmanded knowing how the more violent pesonality was. Duse pulled the man futher behind the stables and tied him up using rope found on the side from which he came. "You caused me a lot of time and head ache." Duse spoke as he began to tie the man up. Hand still over his targets mouth, he felt the pain of teeth biting his hand and a foot land in his shin as the smaller man took off down the street with the pakage in his arms. "I love the chase." Duse said before he took off down the street after the man. He ran on his toes pushing off them sending him foward faster with every step. The human was fast, but not fast enough. They already had passed the Sky view and were heading down towards Rookery Park. Duse was closing in fast manuvering through the smaller crowd of people that were scattered about amongst the street. "He's going for the water." Duce announced which encouraged Duse to run faster. The two fell on the ground rolling to a stop after Duse lunged onto the human who lay on the ground in a position that would have one thinking that he broke a bone. He was out of breath as he forcibly took the package that was heavier than it looked and started walking to the bakery before nightfall. He walked into the bakery covered in dirt and smelling aweful as he took a seet and awaited the employer for his pay. The bakery was empty accept for the few people that sat at the tables enjoying their pastries. "Do you always wait until the last day to deliver?" A voice snapped him out of his day dreaming . There was a elder human whose voice was old and raspy as if he had been yelling all his life. "No. It was just a hard time finding the target is all. He showed up today with the pakage as if he was about to meet someone. Thats all that happened before I got to him." Duce said giving a quick summary of everything that had just occured. The man opened the box checking the contents to make surre that it was not damaged then looked up at Duse and placed a bag that jiggled onto the table. "The rest of your pay." the old human said. "You did good kid." The human said leaving the bakery and Duse at the table staring at the sack that sat in front of him. "I need a rest." He said as the two switched places again. Duce counted 50 Mizas out of the sack adding up the pay before making it come out ot 200 gold Mizas. Putting the coins back into the sack and the sack into his pokets he set off for the Inn to rest for the night.
