Pretty much what the subject tells you; Roderick has next to no money right now and I'd rather not sit and wait until the end of the season for him to get his money, scrounging with what gear he has right now. As such Rod will be putting his skills to use; he'll train your character in the longbow - for a price, of course.
5 points - 6 GM
4 points - 5 GM
3 points - 4 GM
2 points - 3 GM
1 point - 2 GM
Depending on how many points you get from the moderator, that's the price you'll be paying. Seems fair to me; if I do a horrible job, you won't have to pay as much - better that than pay 6 GM for +2 archery, no?
If anyone takes him up on the offer he needs to make sure he makes at least a small amount of money for that day; he's taking time off his hunting to provide training for people, and if it so happens the person in question takes a lot of time to train, he'll have less time to go out hunting, so he would end up with a tiny amount of money for that day. 2 GMs will get him 2 dinners and two ales at the rearing stallion, with a bit left over - basically it pays for two days worth of food.
He might lower the pricing a little if the person being trained can offer him some amount of skill in something, e.g. if you show him some brawling moves he'll take off a GM per skill point; lowest he'll put it to is 3 GM.
