Along the interior of Zinrah’s caverns and tunnels, small caves branch off at all parts in the underground city. These stone cubbyholes are locations of the cave network’s many steam baths. The hot springs are heated by the volcanic activity further down, yet maintain a comfortable temperature so far from the heat source. Depending on the pool, the baths might truly be bubbling and steamy, if not just tepid. Generally speaking, bath waters closer to the city’s center are greater in temperature. The waters themselves take on the colors of the caves and eerie white-blue lighting of the glowstones. The cloudy waters are characteristic of all the steam baths, obscuring most of the underwater happenings. Winding tunnels long and short lead to these baths providing as much or little secrecy a Dhani might be seeking to bath, or pursue more intimate affairs. There are more than enough to be used, although Dhani might compete for their favorite springs. The right mixture of emotions and circumstances can turn the baths into a place of soothing relaxation or heated conflicts. Still, it’s encouraged all arguments be settled in the Training Gallery. Others can put the baths to better use in the interim. The cave life that thrives on such springs seeks them out. It’s up to the particular Dhani who stumbles upon a lost salamander to be rid of it, or leave it. For the most part, the springs are kept clean of excessive flora or fauna that might settle there, if the area is suitable to begin with.
