The piece of charcoal was moving like mad, swishing back and forth, zooming here and there. The blue eyes darted back and forth across the page. A dot here, a line here, squiggly line here, circle there. There was just so much he wanted to do with this picture, but his hands weren't fast enough for his head and they scrambled to keep up with the imagination and images. A couple more lines, maybe another dot.
Ever since the wedding, the artist had been itching to draw the climax of the day while the image was fresh in his mind. The more recent the experience was the better he can picture it. That didn't always mean he could draw it better, but it did help with that matter, for fuzzy memories made details hard to duplicate. Gale wanted this picture to be the best it could be so his focus was one hundred percent on the memory and drawing that memory.
His nose almost touched the paper as he watched the tip of the charcoal make intricate lines, running across the Waveguard's jaw, the bride's eyes. wrapping his fist around the charcoal, he made thick lines for their hair. Telion's blowing slightly in the breeze, covering up some of the picture. Ah! This was going to turn out so great! From anticipation, Gale sped up a little faster, making the smaller lines quickly. Just... a... few... more... lines... Got it!
Sitting up quickly to see the end result, the pessimist heard a loud pop and felt a zing in his back. "Ow." He mumbled, a hand reaching to his back and rubbing the spot that stung. It vanished as soon as it came. Lifting his hands above his head and locking them together, the man stretched with a elongated groan. Once done, his hands fell back to his side and he spoke to himself," I need to stop slouching." The blonde shook his head and looked down at the piece he just drawn.
Gale frowned.
Was that really what he drew? It was so... horrid. Just look at it! The jaws were crooked, the position of their lips didn't even look anatomically correct, Ricky's beard look like he was growing a puffer fish, it was horrible! How could he have not noticed this? The Zeltivan's face twisted into a scowl and he scoffed at the picture. There was no way he was giving this to Ricky. It would be a disgrace! Displeased with his work, Gale searched through his backpack for the piece of wax he used to rid of his mistakes, having to push aside his music book, flute, and bag of chestnuts to find it.
Closing the bag and looked at the picture as he held it tightly in his hand. Rubbing it between his fingers and occasionally breathing warm air on it to get it warm enough that it would mold and actually pick up the charcoal. Yes, it wasn't the best way to go about it, but he only used the wax for smaller mistakes that didn't need must clearing.
