13th of Fall 513AV
There are many things to learn of Nyka, about the people, customs and law. Many things could go wrong to someone who didn’t understand these things making it Vital to those outsiders who wished to stay through the dangerous travel seasons.
Assilsa was one of those trapped for the season of fall and winter; she would have to make herself useful during the time, to make herself needed and eventually wanted, wearing her finest clothes Assilsa braved the streets. In this trip around Nykashe planned to buy some new, clean clothes that would be suitable to make her feel better on her birthday, however she’d much rather do something with much more excitement.
Walking the way she was, was like swimming up stream, almost impossible. Ditching her manners Assilsa began to shove her way through the sea of bodies

Take a walk with me

(Green text = My character breaking the 4th wall.)

“OhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGodOhGod!!!”

“And so on and so forth.”

Screaming like a terrified maiden, the young man dashed as fast as his legs could carry him through the streets of Nyka as he internally thanked the gods for making him memorise the map of this place before coming.

“Hi. My name’s William, I’m 18, jobless and currently running for dear life. These fine gentlemen pursuing me are monks that have kindly offered to educate me about respect and proper manners. Note to self: No more jokes about they’re dresses... or they’re mothers.”

To the contrary of what any and all would assume, he did not shout out of fear but his screams did draw onto him the attention of everyone in the street right now. Even a child, under normal circumstance, would have noticed his clothing was nothing like those of the people around him. Blending into the crowd was not a viable option. Also at this speed, some of the monk pursuing him had stopped bothering to put their hoods back on while he kept his own firmly held in place with one hand, covering his long golden hair and a portion of his face.

“How did I get here? Simply put; I like fighting. With all the street brawls happening around here I thought it’d be a good place to learn without having to pay for it or be bound by some stingy code. I also want to live an interesting life, although this isn’t what I had in mind.”

Not only did the citizens have no time to take in the youth’s appearance, but the sight of the hoodless monks made them all rush out of William’s way in a panic. He almost couldn’t hold back a smirk of satisfaction. It wouldn’t have lasted long anyway. As he turned a corner, William noticed all too late the small frame appearing in the fleeing crowd. Instantly his reflexes kicked in as he bumped into Assilsa. His arm wrapped around her waist, his body twisting, he used himself to break her fall without any hesitation.

“Hey there Lady.”

“Too early to scratch that last thought?”

(Note: Dunno if there’s a rule about it or not but this is probably the first and the last time I ever break the 4th wall, just trying out a different style for my intro.)

Take a walk with me

Postby Cowlquape on October 3rd, 2013, 7:59 pm

Panicked shouts. People dashing out of the way. A gaggle of quickly tiring monks chasing a clearly defined outsider. A hint of golden hair under a hood which he desperately clung to in a single hand; most likely to hide an undeniable designation that would indefinitely single him out from Nyka's streetwide human congestion.

Cowlquape tapped his cane and at a quick walking pace, followed the man's trail through the streets, making detours where needed. Cowlquape gripped his hat in one hand to hold it in place; protecting it from the notorious wind's snatching fingers.

Maybe a perpetrator. Or maybe and more simply an outsider, who broke one of the Nykan monk's strict folkways. Cowlquape's interest in this man stemmed from the possibility of his capture due to illegal activity; unfortunately, the man could not be detained for overlooking sociological institutions. Even if the monks would most likely offer some coin for his arrest.

Cowlquape was an honest man now, who determined to live strictly by the law. He wouldn't detain an innocent man. However this curious activity exhibited by the man whispered of some opportunities to help cleanse Nyka of its illegal individuals.

He passed behind a short building and turned the corner just in time to witness the man cascade into a very pale, black-haired female.

Now she was an interesting individual. What a strange complexion. If she was human, Cowlquape's best guess was that she would be some kind of special race.

The man broke their fall. Well at least he was a gentleman.

Cowlquape waited a minute, observing his surroundings. The crowd, half interested in the strange event, the other half carrying on; monks not yet here. One three story building across from him, the rest varying sizes of two stories. No apparent balconies in the nearby vicinity. Shady characters limited to 4: a grey skinned man with a cloth across his face, and three strange humans each with a similar marking on their forehead; all wearing black cloaks.

Left hand in his pocket, Cowlquape tapped his cane on the ground and strode up to the two characters. Time to press for information.

"Need a hand up?" he inquired, extending his cane for them to grab onto and pull themselves up.

Around Ravok Assilsa was known as clumsy, always tripping over and running into people. So when she was falling to the ground Assilsa wasn’t surprised, what was surprising was the warm muscular arms that wrapped themselves around her waist.

Assilsa’s hair fell out of the lose bun she had put it in, as it circled around her face. The man, who belonged to the arms, twisted so that he would break her fall.
‘What a gentle men’
she thought, however as their bodies collided Assilsa couldn’t help but laugh, she had managed to trip and run into someone again

Looking down at the man with her ruby eyes she saw the man behind the hood. The man had long blond hair with eyes that reminded Assilsa of sea water, that stormy grey, his tanned skin added to the colour of his hair. Brushing the hair out of her face with one of her claws Assilsa smiled.

“Good day Sir! I do believe I am laying on you!”

Laughing again, Assilsa noticed out of the corner of her eye a man
approaching. Baring her fangs slightly Assilsa realised she was finding a small sense of comfort from having someone this close, it was certainly odd, she hadn’t before…. Ever. Maybe because she was reaching the age of the Harvest?

Her thoughts were disrupted by a cane waving in her face and a yet another man, this one was asking if the pair needed a hand up. Assilsa was oddly offended it that he offered his cane and not his hand,

“A hand? No thank you sir, I can manage”

If the man below her let go of her waist that is.

Take a walk with me

She was... laughing? For a moment William lost himself in the sight of this gorgeous young girl on top of him. With crimson red eyes, her fang like canines, claw like nails and ghostly pale skin, she was as exotic a woman as he was ever going to meet. With her jet black hair flowing around her face his thoughts trailed off for half a second on what else needed be undone... yeah seriously not the moment for that. With an amused smirk he responded to her obvious statement.

“And normally I’d encourage you to stay there, but we should probably move before they suspect you’re with me.”

Before he knew it, a cane moved within his view, distracting him from the girl. Surely the man offering them help must have noticed William was being pursued by the local authorities with all the commotion he’d just caused. His eyes widened a bit when he heard Assilsa’s response to the man’s help. Pretty, carefree and proud... interesting. Although there really wasn’t any time for pride right now. Regardless of the young lady’s reluctance, William grabbed the cane as he still held onto her waist and pulled them both up quickly.

“Could also use a way out of this. I’ll admit that last garter belt joke wasn’t all that funny but this is ridiculous.“

Pulling his hood back on, William looked around quickly. The people surrounding them were quickly diverted their attention as the monks closed in and the young man found what he was looking for. Using this opportunity, William grabbed Assilsa’s hand and headed for the closest alley, trying to get as quickly as possible out of the public eye. If they were willing to beat him bloody over a joke, who knows what they’d do to her were they to assume he and her knew each other. That and let's be honest, not keeping her around at least a little longer would just be a shameful waste of circumstances.

“Sorry about that but no time to explain right now! Come on cane man!”

Mmm. Symenestra. Now Cowlquape understood.

This up close and personal, the glinting fangs, claws, pale skin, and red eyes all synthesized to a rather formidable and unnerving conclusion. Cowlquape had two thoughts: Best not piss her off just yet, and if that time had come, there may be some arrest-able deeds. As it goes; "Everyone's a criminal, in their own way,"

At first, she denied his offer of a "hand". Strong enough woman, he thought. What intrigued him was the fact that she really didn't appear all that old. Perhaps just a teenager, even.

The next second she had no choice, as the blonde-haired man grasped the midst of his cane and yanked himself quickly to their feet.

The next second, Cowlquape was pulled and encouraged on into an alleyway, at the sight of the monks closing in. Well that certainly sat well, didn't it. He was practically invited to learn more about this strange pair.

"Quite a pickle, eh? A left up ahead, and then it's just a short dash to the bridges. And then your in the clear of these monks. That is of course, not taking in the nature of your... pre-assumed misdemeanor."

The crowd was certainly surprised by the encounter. The Two men were certainly making a scene with Assilsa, one that would certainly have the crowd talking for a long while after the group had disappeared. Frowning slightly at the man’s comments, Assilsa wondered what could have happened.

“Wha-“

She attempted to say something however the pair was yanked up and Assilsa was soon ushered away through the confused crowd. Luckily the strange man had released her waist to grab her hand, watching her nails slightly scratch at the man’s hand Assilsa cringed.

This, from what she was told was all caused by one joke… It certainly didn’t sound like the Monks of Nyka, at all. The other man with the cane followed behind, well pulled as well as it seemed. Coming to a stop at a nearby Ally, Assilsa hissed and yanked her hand from the grip of the blonde man Whilst the smart looking gentlemen commented about monks and bridges.

“First off! Your hand is bleeding sir! Secondly!”

Assilsa paused to right her corset and hair, usually she wouldn’t worry about such things however she was attempting to make a good impression.

“The monks won’t kill you, unless of course you’ve done something serious such as killing one of them or someone important, Also”

Giving a small bow the both of the men Assilsa smiled

When Assilsa spoke, the blonde youth’s eyes widened a bit and he looked at his hand, due to the adrenaline, he hadn’t felt the pain at all. As luck would have it the wound wasn’t deep at all and William just shrugged it off as an after though, he’d seen much worse in his short life.

“Meh... just a scratch and right now I’m not so much afraid of death as I am of a four on one beating. I kinda like my teeth where they are. Plus I won’t learn a damn thing from a fight I can’t even fight back in.”

With them coming to a short stop, William took a moment to put down his back pack on the ground and removed the cloak which mostly covered his body, revealing his traveling clothes. His black vest with red linings was unbuttoned and his sleeves rolled back, the top three buttons of his white shirt underneath were unbuttoned as well. Sweat tinkled down his exposed and very well toned chest due to all the running. Although the clothes were worn by use and travel, they subtly smelled of a flowery perfume. His loose pants seemed barely holding onto his hips by a large leather belt that laid sideways, pulled down by the weight of the heavy gauntlet that was attached to it.

“William Renegade and sorry if I offended with that comment when ya fell on me. Couldn’t resist.”

Once he had apologized, he then put his cloak inside his back pack and then pulled its straps back over his left shoulder. With that he walked toward Cowlquape, extending his hand to properly greet the man.

“And you cane man? Lest I should stick with the nickname.”

Cowlquape returned Assilsa's bow, as formalities dictate, with a little tip of his hat.

It seemed, judging by Assilsa's comment, that she as well was at least a bit curious as to why William was on the lamb from a group of monks. Or perhaps the majority of her curiosity stemmed from the simple question of: Why the hell was I just ran into!?

At any rate, Cowlquape still needed to find his answer. Only four monks... well it could'nt be that bad. Then again, his diction could imply that it only just STARTED with four...

William introduced himself. Hmm, proper enough.

Cowlquape took the 'William's' offered hand.

Blonde hair, tan skin, and younger than expected. Perhaps around 18. Must have recently left his house, say... a few years ago. A well meaning gentleman with a slightly narcissistic attitude which contributed to his sum behavior of unrequited over confidence.

He put on a smile and said, "My friends and enemies call me Cowlquape." And still wondering what you did to upset Nyka's monks... "It's a pleasure to meet the both of you. However, Mr. William, I'm sorry to inform you that this area won't be safe forever. We need to get you to another district... But the nature of your incident may come into play in choosing our next destination..."

So William and Cowlquape, the two gentlemen. Assilsa was standing in an alley with her hands on her hips wearing her most revealing clothes; this wasn’t the best circumstances to be meeting men

“Offended? Hardly Just a tad shocked”

Smiling politely Assilsa fixed her corset tightening a few straps here and there. Assilsa was supposed to be buying suitable clothes however she had to admit she was having so much more fun here, A guy on the run and a gentleman. Looking over William Assilsa wondered whether he was interested in her with the roses and presents way. Assilsa loved roses red ones.
