The Art of Cunning

Located just a few carverns down from True Beauty, The Art of Cunning, is a jewelry boutique run by the talented and cutthroat Syssyl. The entrance to the store is rocky and bordered by glistening pools of water that lead up like a staircase to the neatly carved hollow in which Syssyl keeps his wares. Utilizing the full extent of the caverns sloping curves and natural shelves to the fullest, brilliant necklaces are hung off outcropping, draped over stalagmites, and cover every inch of rock. One can find bangles, earrings, rings, headdresses, and any sort of apparel you could wish for, there are even a pair of obsidian eyeglasses on one high shelf, though no one is quite sure what they would be used for...

ImageSyssyl works with a combination of metallurgy and sculpture in his artworks, and is unique for using insects as a highlight in his pieces as opposed to stones. Beetle necklaces and delicate looking wristbands made out of lacquered butterfly wings are just the tip of what Sylyss is able to fashion with his delicate human hands and put on display for the occupants of Zinrah to fawn over. His work generally does not attract those who work in a violent or destructive atmosphere, as most of the wares are quite delicate, but more often than not many Dhani buy the glistening jewelry and do not always wear it, displaying the fine items in their cavern instead or risking damaging the pieces.

There are several other Jewler makers in Zinrah whom Syssyl is in constant competition with, but the clever constrictor often partners with Tryl due to their stores' proximity, each Constrictor displaying their work in the other's shop in order to promote more business.

NPCs
ImageLinsssyssyl
Race: Dhani, Constrictor
Position: Owner and Jewelry Maker of The Art of Cunning
Skills: Crafting (Insects) 75, Metalsmithing 30, Blacksmithing 30, Wrestling 45, Persuasion 50, Bartering 50
Gnosis: 1 Venenum
Other: Syssyl is as manipulative and backstabbing as Constrictors come. He has an air of grandeur and power about him that is hard to ignore, though you can never be sure if it is just a facade. While Syssyl will barter for his goods, if you are not competent at the art of haggling it's just as likely as the male will ask you to leave his store without buying anything, not because he disliked the offered price, but because of his disgust with your ineptitude.

There are several Jewelers around Zinrah, all who think they are the superior, and Syssyl is no different. He sees the delicate work he performs with insects, turning these menial creatures into works of beauty as the highest form of art one could possibly offer, and his prices reflect that.
