3rd Of Fall 513 AV

His day started off like any other by now he had gotten past his love hate relationship that damnable bucket. Extra nasty not only did he hate using it, he hated being around it when he finished using it. A fine diet he'd acquired beef jerky, wine, oh yea and rations he'd rather not eat. It was like every petching time he bombed that bucket he'd get raving complaints down the hall. It mattered little as he wiggled his bottom with a satisfying smile.

Yup, he was living the Sahovan dream

He was minding his business until he noticed it scamper across his floor into the corner of his room. What? Some foul beast that a summoner had set loose upon him for sweet sweet vengeance? Oh ukalas no, it was worse a damn rat.

He got up wiped himself off with a rag on a stick and unsheathed his blade.

Trousers up he was ready to get down to business

It was caught In the corner of his room, it couldn't really scurry off without getting past him first. He wiped his face with his sleeve to get past the odor most foul, he could here the echoes of that stuck up wizard across whining like his shyke did not stink.

He shook his head crawling towards his foe knife in hand

It squealed first and then hissed at him, it swiped then snarled bearing its teeth. His slow descent came to a stop as he was towering of the creature, as it was pinned in the corner. He thrust his dagger forward and stuck that scurrying little imp it shrieked and writhed in agony before bolting underneath his feet. He just wasn't that great with a dagger but still he was fast and landed a blow even if his victim had been cornered helplessly. It was the only reason he felt he was successful

Luckily he didn't have to go to far as it rolled around dying and bleeding out on his floor.

He had an opportunity for something here, no no not lunch. He'd learned a little something and would try to turn this disgusting heap of rat into something useful.

I Smell A Rat

Rat in one hand knife in the other he made a vertical incision and spilled the innards into that bucket. He now had a heap of material to work with meat bones and fur it was time for him to set up so he put the rat on the floor and began to dig in. Stripping meat off the bone and separating workable materials like bones into one heap and strips of flesh and other useless materials into another.

What he had at the end of it was a heap of bones, a tail and a freshly cleaned hide. The hide was beat pretty badly though he wouldn't even call himself a novice at skinning an animal but he had the main ingredients here to work with something.

In the cluster of small bones the only thing that looked useful was its skull.

It was after all the only thing he could attempt to etch.

So he'd work with this first as that would be the route for him to try and tap into the creatures Djed source. Although his expertise in the matter was very little, he understood for the item to work it would require a Malediction circle. And he didn't have skills to etch, but because the skull was the biggest part he stood a greater chance of success.

Plucking the cleaned skull he picked up the small chisel, and began tapering away a little at a time. Each chip put him closer towards his goal however he would painstakingly take time to do it, of course to his horror he got greedy and moved too quickly. All it took was just one misdirected move, to send that instrument through the scull and cause it to crumble,

It litterally fell to pieces as the thing broke like an eggshell.

Morvale to say the least was pissed about this.

The time and preparation it took to get to this step and he petched up, he should have known better at least an hour was wasted.

But his eyes went back to the pile of bones that was left

I Smell A Rat

Postby Morvale Barrows on October 14th, 2013, 8:19 pm

Hands burrowed into his back pack to pull out an artists tool kit, another item that may prove to be useful on his quest to make something magical out of something not only mundane but gross.

Fingers plucked out a tibia this piece he might be able to do something with, as he began used a less destructive technique. A small brush dipped into an ink well, and he began to focus on his circle. He kind of wished he'd taken this this route beforehand but what was done was done.

A he had to breath in deep to stop the trembling, and then he'd apply the circle to that tibia it was small. His movements had to be direct and precise, this time though little by little with each brush stroke he came a step closer. A blob with two tiny blots to represent feet, then a streak to resemble the creatures tail. Additional lines flowing across its form to represent its speed and agility. And the miniature project was done, it could be seen that this represented something. But it wasn't anything special even a small child could paint that. The real magic was in the circle, the focus is what the circle would draw from the item.

The circle had taken him a couple of minutes, it wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.

He looked at the rest of the pile and thought about what he could do. The circle had been applied to the item.

But now he wanted to experiment.

I Smell A Rat

The rest of the bones were placed on the cleaned rat hide.

After this he waited for the ink to dry

He took the clean razor from his toiletries and nipped his pinky with it, it caused him to wince but it was required for the circle to draw its power. Just a dab and the circle began to glow a vibrant crimson red as this circle was now activated on the tibia that was now laying atop the rest of the bones.

Pinching the hide he withdrew his needle and thread and sewed that item together sealing in the activated maledicted piece with all the items except the skull. The loose bones secured by its skin and fur.

It wasn't hard to stitch the item closed and the end result looked like a small coin purse with a rat tail hanging out of it.

He took out his actual coin purse, emptied the mizahs and then promptly taking the fetish and stuffing it into the sack. The idea was so Morvale could then wear the item as if it were a medecine pouch.

The job was done and now there was but one left, take the bucket out and find a place to clean his hands.
