Bad To The Bone

25th Of Fall 513 AV

Now this was something Morvale could live with, a nice orderly workshop.

Although it was public and anybody even lowly pulsers like himself had the privy to be here. Morvale took special care in the preparation of his space, artist tool kit at the ready, carving tool kit at the ready. Morvale had access to all of his tools to begin work, he decided that he would try his hands on the wolfs teeth first or rather what was left after he he'd crushed the monsters skull with a rock. What he had today was a small pile of teeth, nothing all that fancy but it was worth a shot to see what he could do with them.

His hands picked up the pieces and put them down in the order he wished them to be in.

But what did he want to draw out from this macabre collection of bones, could he draw upon the beasts terrifying presence? The snarling maw the creature had possessed was a vivid memory still fresh in his mind.

With this thought in mind he took his paint brush and dabbed it into the ink well, he wanted to experiment with a few things. First with words, he had an idea for the word fear but he wrote it in Nader Canoch. He wanted to see if there was something inherently special about the Ancient Tongue thus he wished to apply it to the item.

Two Words

Roza he went with the meaning of interruption or death, and then chose the word Kasai which meant hope and optimism to string them together to create Roza Kasai to destroy hope to interrupt optimism. The idea behind it was fear, when he had created the words he applied the brush to tooth and painstakingly applied each letter.

He moved his brush carefully making sure to keep the letters as neat as possible.

Each tooth would be given a letter, now he was left with teeth that spelled out Roza Kasai that ancient word to describe fear and horror that which destroys hope.

The next part would have to be the Malediction circle but how would he decide to prepare the runic glyph. He had an idea , the word Roza Kasai contained a total of nine individual letters.

He chose the fith letter as it sat snugly between four letters to the left and four letters to the right. His assumption was that circle placement was more critical then even the creation of the legacy circle itself. He wanted to tap into the Djed, this he felt would allow him to evenly funnel through into its property and then suck it out.

He snatched the letter K

And then turned the tooth backwards, as he deliberated what it was exactly he was going to put in the center of this. What would be his symbol ?

His mind carefully went over the minor details, what would make a proper symbol.

As he sat on his bench he thought about the rat he had maledicted a while back, he had an idea to paint a snarling wolf. But that required details he just could not afford on such a small item. He went back meandering in quiet contemplation as he mused for a solution.

And then it hit him

A quill this time was dipped into the ink well and he breathed in to steady his hand he flipped the tooth around and began making the word Kasai but when properly worn the lettering would be upside down to represent that he wanted the exact opposite of hope. His idea to do this was simple and easy to do, but fortified the point and the meaning of what he hoped to get out of the item.

Next came his Malediction Circle an intricate weave of spiraling lines interwoven and crossing paths to create this pattern that was simple but defined and elegant. He did not have a complete knowledge of every circle but he kept what he new and applied it to a very basic level.

It was a small circle with an inscription within it.

(iasak)

He felt that this project was bearing completion but there was still a bit more to do so he would not activate it until ready.

The next part was tedious indeed

He had to take each individual tooth, and gently drill through it with a small instrument it was a drill of sorts. It required patients and he remembered what happened when he rushed his work, he'd broken a skull before to hurry up a project once. It was a major waste and he hoped he did not have to suffer through again.

The tool twisted and cranked by the force of his thumb and index finger, he'd take breaks and rest his wrist occasionally going to and from his items.

It was a long time until he finished the project, going the short way would have been a mistake and he had little alternative except to take the long arduous path in order to complete the task the right way.

Each tooth had a hole in it now going the long way through, so each letter would be visible in the phrase Roza Kasai.

All that was left now was to thread the item with a strip of leather that would work as a makeshift piece of string. Each letter was placed in its order, threaded one after another. The R then the O followed By Z then tailed by the A until the word Roza Kasai had been beaded together.

When the item was completed he tied the leather strip together creating a bracelet.

Now it was time for morvale to remove his dagger and nip his finger, he tapped the circle with a drop of his blood. As the scarlet liquid touched the circle it was absorbed and what he was left with was a brightly glowing malediction circle that faded to a dimmer hue after a few passing moments.

The completed item sat on his work bench for some time, before he worked up the courage to actually put it on his wrist. He was curious to see what would happen, maybe the item was botched or worse cursed only time would tell.

Roza Kasai Bracelet: This maledicted bracelet made from Sahovan monster dog's teeth has the effect of dampening the feeling of hope of a person who wears it, replacing it with despair. The feeling is only slight and a truly positive person would not be affected. It works best in crushing a person who only has a small sliver of hope.
