Completed [Jungle Wilds] Serpents, Felines, And Monkeys (Mamoru)

The Jungle Wilds, 19th of Bell, 27th of Fall 513 A.V

The Viper in snake form slithered on the humid cool forest floor, heading out from the northern entrance of Zinrah. Syna had given the reign of the sky to Leth about a bell ago, nightfall was the perfect time for some patrolling and Myrian hunting. Aka volunteered to patrol today instead of working in the tunnels, she could die of boredom doing that kind of repetitive job. It was necessary, but the guards and soldiers of Zinrah always welcomed a reimancer among their ranks especially if said reimancer was proficient in offensive spells.

Aka hissed happily as she took in the sensation of slithering above dirt, not the stony floor of Zinrah. Her snake form bare except for the skin-tight purple collar clinging near her head where her neck would turn out to be if she shifted to her human or Dhani form, it was the cursed collar she found in the ancient temple about three days ago. She haven't found a way to remove it so far, at least without destroying it. She was still curious on its effects so she kept it on. Fortunately, the collar was flexible, it expanded and contracted depending on her form and always clung tight to her skin/scales.

"Come on, Mamoru, hurry up!" The fireproof reimancer glanced back to the entrance and hissed after her patrolling partner that night, the Trickster Mamoru. She made a deal with him yesterday that they would alternate between the role of master and slave every day and it just so happened that day was Aka's turn to be the 'master'. She could boss Mamoru around, how fun! When Mamoru caught up with her, Aka would smugly stare at him and voiced her request in an arrogant tone. "We are patrolling for today! Ssso, I want you to carry me! Comfortably now, hurry up! Sssehehehe~" Him carrying her brought numerous advantages for her. Not only it would make him looked like a subordinate, it also provided Aka with a portable living vehicle, and furthermore, if they should encounter hostiles, Aka could focus on preparing her res while Mamoru fought.

"I'm your Missstresss for today! Sssehehe~ So you gotta lisssten to me!"

The small fry sure enjoyed her temporary reign greatly.

Mamoru slithered out of the tunnel and onto the ground of the jungle. He was met with all the usual sounds and sights, along with a tiny viper in front of him. Aka. He knew from the moment that he saw her this day that she was up to something. The look upon her face said as much. It was her turn, her only turn to boss him around for a day. The trickster had no intention of keeping this up, and only did this to prove a point and to have a bit of fun.


Whether Aka knew this or not wasn't his concern, but she would be surprised if she thought differently. The trickster released a sigh as he popped his neck and stretched his upper body. Fresh air was just that, fresh, and not something a Dhani could enjoy each day, unless they left the dank cave of Zinrah. She had started already, bossing him around and calling to him as if he were a pet. He wondered how long it would take for her to forget the fact that tomorrow things went back to normal, and in truth he hoped she would.


By doing so, she would not only prove his point but also lay the work for him to truly have fun with her, and without any rebellion either. At her beckon, Mamoru slithered forward, lifted her into his arms..and flopped her over his back as if she were a nap sack. Aka said he had to carry her, that it had to be in comfort, but she didn't say who's. The trickster slithered off into the jungle now, looking for something to hunt.


It was his day off from work, guarding the city, but time off was time to play, and since Aka was brave enough to face the Myrians once again he went along. Although he really didn't have a choice since she was as she would say the master. "Which way would you like to go firsst?" he asked still carrying her over one shoulder and giving her rear a light smack.

"Kyah?! Aka hissed in protest as her serpentine body was lifted by his large arms and carried as if she was a sack of potatoes, not how a servant would carry his Mistress. "Hsss! Thisss isss not what I meant by 'comfortable', ssservant! The venomous snake hissed in protest and shifted her position so she was now coiling around Mamoru's broad Dhani shoulders, with her head on his right shoulder, raising and watching the surrounding jungle. Mamoru clearly didn't understand how to pamper a girl, it was no wonder Morgana said he had zero clue about females. She was right, he was really an insensitive male.

"Hsss?!!" She hissed again in surprise as Mamoru smacked her tail and rear part of her sinuous body. "Don't do that again!" The Viper commanded Mamoru again, her head creeping closer to his head and licked his cheek. She didn't actually mind Mamoru handling her like that, it was better than be completely ignored. Besides, she was comfortable enough to be carried in her snake form, if she was in human or Dhani form Aka imagined he would have a hard time moving constantly and fighting with her on his body. His question was also appreciated, he realized she was the boss for the moment.

"Hmmm~ How about there?" Aka pointed to a particular direction. "I heard from the othersss that it'sss a good ssspot for an ambusssh. We can get a Myrian patrol or two." If Mamoru had another good idea of their patrol location that night, she would agree but with the most arrogant tone she could muster.

As they slithered, Aka kept lapping the air for scents, heat signatures, and focused on hearing the foul voice of those bronze monkeys. "Ssservant, I wonder how many monkeysss we can kill today, sssehehehe~ Did you know I can ssshoot lightningsss now? Awesssome right? She flaunted her reimancy, one of the few things of hers she could be truly proud about.

After a few moments of slithering, Aka's scent picked up something. The familiar smell of Myrians ahead of them, she looked at the particular direction and true enough, heat signatures of humanoid creatures carrying torches filled her vision. She deducted they were not far away, but far enough for them to not detect the two Dhanis. In the darkness, they were at their advantage. "There, do you sssee them?"

"Well you did ssay comfort Aka. But..you failed to ssay whosss. I found it very comfortable, well asss much asss could be."


Mamoru cackled softly, if the tiny viper didn't know how the game was played then he wouldn't tell her. Instead he would do as he would and enjoy it as much as he could. After all, he was sure of the kinds of things she would ask him to do. Embarrassing things, demeaning things even. The type of things that he had never asked of her in the past. It was something to see, the spoiled viper complaining about being a slave when she had more freedom than she realized.


It was also interesting to see her idea of what a slave is and yet she still looked at her life and thought that description matched up. She was about to be surprised soon enough, while she commanded Mamoru to be her servant, he had his own ideas for her. Slithering through the jungle, Aka moved herself around him and he couldn't help getting the sense that she was enjoying being so close to him, enjoying touching his scales so freely as she had, without worry of punishment.


The smack to her narrow rear seemed to bother her, at least until she licked his face. But in truth what she was showing was that she wanted to be the dominate one. The one who said how, when, where, and what happened between them. It was typical female behavior and something he had grown used to over many years of seeing it. With her approval, Mamoru slithered on in the direction that she said she wanted to go. "Yesss, misstresss."


The trickster thought over her words, and he wondered how true they could be. A place in the jungle that was good for a Myrian ambush? Was that even possible? After all the monkeys were super smart, made no mistakes and always won out at the end. By now they would have found this supposed ambush spot, turned it over and created the perfect Dhani ambush spot. Even so, Aka was the master, as she claimed, and if she wanted to go there he would take her...and leave her if need be.


Mamoru couldn't see Aka's face from her perch, but he could tell that she was really enjoying herself, calling him servant and having him carry her around. He half listened to her confession of being able to shoot lightening. The viper was an animated sort and sometimes when she spoke he wasn't sure how much was flare and how much was truth. However, if she could do such a thing, he would be sure to put it to use once he regained his thrown.


By the time Aka started to sense the monkeys, Mamoru had as well and had stopped in his tracks as he observed them. He saw six of them, no doubt the better half of a fang doing a night patrol. There was a woman among them, a tall dark skinned tree of a woman who was probably their leader, walking at the head of the group. He knew what he would do, but it was up to Aka to say. If she wanted to prove that she could lead..now was her chance. "Ssso Aka, what do we do?"

The Viper lapped the air again, fully focusing her senses to the gathered 'monkeys'. There were about six of them in total, all walking with their two legs like they were kings and queens of the jungle. Even through their heat signatures, Aka could figuratively see their ugly mugs. The Viper audibly hissed with hatred, these were the monkeys responsible for slaughtering her brothers and sisters. Killing them all would only do the jungle good, there was not a single positive thing about letting them live.

Using the common rule of the jungle which was bigger means better, she also agreed that the biggest Myrian and foremost of the group was their leader. As always, they moved about while keeping a lookout for any hostiles, the behaviour of warriors. Aka spat in anger, she conjured up some sinister plans for them. Blowing them up with her fireballs or zapping them with lightning were always good, but she wanted something different, something that would allow her to see the face of those savages just before they would be turned into crisps. "Yesss, Mamoru... I jussst got an idea..."

Her head then slithered to Mamoru, right beside his hearing hole on the right side of his serpentine head. "Sssehehe~ When I sssay the word, throw me to the middle of them... then watch the ssshow." She wasn't kidding, the Viper was planning to cover her whole sinuous body in her res, then Mamoru would throw her to those monkeys in which she would transmute her res into flames as she burst it outwards, creating a blanket of flames to ignite everything around her on fire. She was not worried about harming herself due to the blessing of Ivak, visible on her shoulder blades in human and Dhani form, the twinning flame mark was located somewhere on the middle side of her serpentine body in snake form.

She concentrated, reddish slime poured out from beneath her scales. A few ticks later, the Viper was covered in reddish liquid. Sssehehehe! They'll never know what's coming to them... The pleasure that came with casting magic only boosted her confidence further, she was completely sure this plan was foolproof. "I'm ready, you can throw me when you think the time isss right. Sssehehehe~" Aka knew Mamoru could easily toss her small body with his Dhani form strength, now he just got to find a good position.

This was to be a treat and also to see Aka at work, and what the viper could do tactically. Mamoru could think of his job, and being a guard did give one permission to share ideas, it didn't mean that others were going to follow. A role of leadership had to be earned, as did the trust of those in the group. This was Aka's chance to show what she could do and if she had what it took to be leader. The idea she came up with was unexpected, such reckless actions had only gotten him into trouble in the past.


The trickster smiled, his eyes glancing over his own shoulder to find Aka's. He knew the girl was odd and liked to flaunt her power, but this was suicide. However, his opinion aside, Aka was the leader and if this was what she wanted he would do as she asked. "Asss you wisssh." He first slithered around the area they were in to get a better aim, and shot of launching her right in the middle of them. They were on the move, slowly, but on the move no less. He needed to be able to get her right in the center, rather than behind or in front of them.


"Alright, coil yoursself tightly and don't move. If you do you won't make it asss far, and may even land right behind them. heh."


He had to admit to himself that, the thought of her being surrounded and her plan ruined did seem amusing. But this was about something more than a good laugh and he was sick and tired of seeing those monkeys every time that he stuck his head out of the nest. Reaching up with both hands, he collected the tiny viper into his arms and held her neatly upon one shoulder. "You might want to breathe out." Mamoru slithered out closer into the opening, coiling his tail tightly before he unspun himself around and launched the viper into the air towards the direction of the monkeys.

The trickster wasn't sure how well she would do, but he would give her back up if needed. Unless she was able to kill them all, they would attack and possibly call for help, which was likely just hanging off a hook in a tree just waiting to be called down into a glorious battle and dhani soup. Mamoru drew the djed from his body, allowing the power and skill that he had learned over many years to rise and coat his frame completely from head to toe.


His bones became thicker, their length increased and as this happened the tissue and muscles in his body rushed to keep up. His shoulders bulked out along with the meat in his upper arms. His torso expanded, the full length of his skeletal cage pushing outward. His tail grew thicker and wider, the full size larger than his upper body, until meaty flesh broke free of the scaled piece, a leg pealing out of each side. His feet tug into the ground, toes twitching as claws grew from the dark nails on each.


The tissue and muscles in his new legs wrapped tightly around the bones and pale flesh that was soon covered in thick scales. This wasn't the first time that he had created legs while in Dhani form, but this time he pushed further, making them longer and stronger so that he could move even faster. He would watch Aka first and see what she could do, and then he would attack.

Aka hissed in delight, eager to show him her prowess. Mamoru once said he was not interested in Reimancy, she would prove to him that the lure of the powerful magic was just too good to pass up. With how ambitious the Trickster was, she couldn't see on how he would not be interested in more power. Reimancy, it was a major part of her life, with it she could hunt, fight, learn, and do all sorts of things.

"Sss~" Licking his cheek once more, Aka coiled herself into a spiralling lump of red and black scales on his shoulder. She hissed happily as he picked her up, she prepared herself for the imminent launch. With her light weight and agility, she should be able to land softly on the forest floor. With a spun, the slime-covered Viper was launched into the group of six Myrians. In the darkness, her small build greatly helped her. If she was a Rattler or Constrictor, her large body would be obvious in both sight and sound.

She could see the Myrians still unaware as she approached them from the air, then the warriors felt something approaching them. They looked around to find a small long thing fell to the midst of them. All of them faced their feet to see a... red snake being covered in a gooey stuff which seemed to move and ebb as if it was alive. One of the Myrians widened her eyes as she felt a foreboding feeling that something bad was going to happen to them in mere ticks later.

"Buuuuuuurn!!" The Viper hissed, igniting herself in flames before sending it outwards, creating an explosion of fire bursting out from her body. Time seemed to slow down as the Myrians only got barely half a tick before the flames waved out of the little snake's body. The inferno consumed everything around her in a raging reddish-orange fury, the Myrians, the ground, and the trees around her.

"Ssssahahahahaha!" Aka herself was immune to the flames due to the blessing of Ivak. As the smoke cleared out, she could see four groaning Myrians on the ground around her, their body consumed by flames. They were dying with severe burn marks all over their body, one of them even got his eyes melted. She hissed in delight, not realizing there were two Myrians behind her who got singed by the heat, but was still mostly combat-capable. One of the Myrians reached down and gripped her neck. "Ssss?! Ack!" She felt her head held forcefully and her body pulled upwards. She heard some curses in the guttural native language of those monkeys.

"Let me go, you petching swine!! Sssss!!" She hissed in anger, her body felt dirtied and violated just by the touch of these savages alone. As her head was being locked in place, she couldn't turn around to see what those Myrians were doing. She needed help for these savages would undoubtedly kill her right away for burning their comrades. "Maaassster!! Heeeelp!" In her state, she forgot the fact she was the Mistress right now...

Mamoru sucked in more djed, willing it to form over the layer of scales and to sink inside. A soft whitish shell began to grow over his head, down his back, and over his chest. The same, soft shell-like substance also grew over his fist and at the end of his tail. Once the substance had covered the parts of his body that he wanted, he harden it into bone. The bone growing thicker inside his body and another layer forming on top of his scales. His knuckles became spiked and the end of his tail bore a long, sharp blade-like bone about the same size as the weapon he normally carried.


Ohhh...sso pretty.


He chuckled to himself as he watched Aka work her magical talents on the monkeys. It was a beautiful spray of res, a fantastic fire that burned all to appear as one ugly monkey. Mamoru was impressed, and he was curious if she planned to hit them with lightening next. The viper had gone as far as to brag about it and he wanted to see it.


Aka got many of them, but it seemed the viper needed to work on her aim. There were two behind her and they were ready to attack and avenge their fallen friends. It was his time to step in now, and the trickster was more than ready. Mamoru charged across the ground with an animal like roar that caught the Myrian's attention from killing Aka. It had too, what they saw rushing towards them had to be one of the largest Dhani they'd ever seen, and this one had legs, and bone armor over his scales.


"You're all dead!!"


He raced on, leaping in bounds to make his journey faster, and as he reached the first chard body, Mamoru picked it up and flung it at one of the two Myrians still standing. He quickly ducked, and rolled away but also putting distance between him and his last companion.


The trickster moved passed Aka, slamming his clawed feet into the ground as he spun half way around, allowing his tail to lash out and smack the closest Myrian through the air. There was a sudden loud clanking sound pecking at his shoulder. Turning his head, he saw the last Myrian hacking away at his bone armor as he tried to get to the scales beneath.


"Sstupid!"


Flexing his tail, the thick muscle shot out, impaling the Myrian through his check. He coughed and spat blood all over Mamoru, but it was a welcomed sight. Lifting the man into the arm, he watched as he twitched and slowly died.

"Ssss! Petch you!" She needed to do something in case Mamoru didn't show up, Aka began to emit her res. She would conjure another explosion of flames to utterly decimate the remaining Myrians. However, the two savages would give the little petching red snake another chance to burn more of their kind. One of them kept holding Aka's head while the other one brandished his gladius, preparing to swing it and cut the viper in two.

The hissing-roar echoed in the burning area was to be her salvation, she just knew it would be Mamoru, her strong master Mamoru. "Sssehehehe~ Die, monkeysss! She hissed in delight at the imminent prospect of a Myrian slaughter show courtesy of the Trickster. It came in the form of a giant scaly creature stomping to the Myrian duo, their eyes widened at the approaching monster. It was a Dhani yet not Dhani at the same time. As far as they knew, Dhani didn't have legs unless they were in their human form and this Dhani was not in his human form. The strange bone armor also added to the element of surprise.

"Sssahahaha! Take that, monkeysss! Aka hissed in delight and sadistic pleasure as Mamoru threw the charred body of a Myrian to one of the duo, the first Myrian ducked away but the body kept flying to slam into the second male Myrian that was holding Aka's body, knocking him off his feet and unwittingly releasing the Viper. Aka fell to the ground and immediately slithered away from the location, turning her head back once she had gained some distance. She would enjoy Mamoru's display of power. He was in a form similar to what she saw in the past when she visited him to learn about hypnotism, a creature with bone plates as armor, but he was in human form back them, this one must be the Dhani form version. Now, she could see how effective and powerful Mamoru's morphing magic was in combat, growing feet even in his Dhani form,

"That'sss gotta hurt~ She winced in mock concern as a male Myrian flung helplessly, courtesy of Mamoru's powerful tail. Then the second male monkey tried to hurt the Constrictor with his puny weapon, it bounced harmlessly off Mamoru's magical bone plates. "Agreed~ That male was stupid indeed, Aka bet he had strange drugs for breakfast. Mamoru replied in kind by impaling his tail, altered to a spear by his magic, to the monkey's puny chest. His warm blood splattered over the Constrictor, twitching to death as he was lifted by Mamoru.

Aka slithered to the Constrictor, her face showing happiness and excitement. "We did it! Sssahahaha! We sssure showed them! Monkeys aside, now she got another issue to deal with. The vegetation around then was burning due to her fiery explosion earlier, if Aka didn't stop it, it would devastate the jungle which would be bad. The Zinrah residents wouldn't be happy and... she was also afraid it would anger the Goddess of Nature herself. "I'll clean up after my messs, wait a minute. Aka then concentrated and opened her jaw, reddish gas hissing out of her mouth as it gathered into the familiar ball form. The Viper then willed it to gather all of the flames near her, they were attracted to the res like predators to blood. Once all of the fires were gathered, she would transform them into puffs of harmless air.

*THUNK!*

The Viper didn't get such chance though as a curious arrow suddenly landed just right beside Mamoru. "Er..." With the large fireball still floating near her, Aka's heat-vision was disturbed but a proper Dhani could assume there were more of those monkeys. Another arrow sang through the air and pierced her fireball, coating it in flames as it exited through the other end. A third arrow clunked against Mamoru's shoulder armor. "Massster! More monkeysss! Aka hissed in delight, her adrenaline flowed through her. This particular patrol turned interesting.

In the distance, the sounds of battle, the fire, and the now floating large fireball attracted the attention of another group of six Myrians. But this particular group were more experienced than the previous one with the leader riding a very large and vicious-looking striped cat... a Myrian Tiger. The female leader shouted in Myrian, commanding the warriors to approach in a fan formation, she knew they were not facing Dhanis, but also magic here. The tiger roared, not intimidated by the fire at all unlike most wild animals. It was specifically trained to be a killing machine, some flames would not deter it.

The Viper slithered away from Mamoru, aiming to distract some Myrians so Mamoru could handle the rest. She deliberately commanded her fireball to follow her as her small viper form would be very hard to see in the night. Three Myrians in total noticed the flying flame-ball and decided to chase it, intent on butchering whatever Dhani conjured it. The remaining three Dhani, including the tiger, were going after the large morphed Constrictor.

Looks like the jungle would be burned with Aka's fury for the second time that night.

Aka was overjoyed at their win, and Mamoru agreed. He had said himself, even if he had to kill them a fang at a time, that he would eventually destroy all of them. The jungle was created for all of the creatures by the Goddess Caiyha, not just tanned monkeys. If they thought that they would rule forever, then they were as stupid as he thought they were. Which in the end, would work well for him. The trickster smiled as he looked down at Aka. Finally someone who understood what needed to be done.


"Yessss dear. Do clean up your messs. We wouldn't want Caiyha angry with usss."


Mamoru was ready to stand by and watch Aka finish her work. He was mildly interested in the art of res manipulation, but to watch the viper at work was a thing of beauty. She did so with such ease and yet the end result was destructive and powerful. However, before she could perform more wonders, arrows pierced the night as more Myrians arrived.


"There are alwaysss more Aka. Alwaysss. Sshall we invite them over?"


Another fang arrived, this one had a leader riding a tiger. What a beautiful creature it was. So large and still fast and agile. He wanted it for himself. Aka was off, leading some of the Myrians away from him. She was learning to be a leader, taking charge and making quick decisions. It was impressive, perhaps even Aka would be a queen some day. If so, Mamoru would hope that she would remember him when that time came, and not for the purpose of being her foot stool.


It was time to play, and Mamoru would put on a show for them all. The mark on his shoulder glowed faintly, a soft burn as the magic came alive ready to be used. Mamoru clung to the tree, staring at it as he worked his magic. The illusion reached out to the Myrians and it would appear as if the Dhani was the same color and shade of the tree. He followed the body of the tree with his eyes, making sure to blend his scales into the same color and shading. By the time the Myrians reached him, he would be invisible to their eyes, and it would simply look like a thicker tree. It was already night and unless one were to stand right next to him, they wouldn't be able to detect a thing.


Only the tiger would know where he was because it could smell his scent. They moved closer, still unaware of the Dhani's location, but the tiger continued on towards the tree, even though no one else saw anything. But he was there, standing very still, eyes watching them closely. The moment they were in range, the tiger growled loudly and Mamoru attacked. His tail wiped out, sharp edge piercing the chest of the woman who rode the great beast and lifting her off.


The other two Myrians roared in anger, throwing their blades at the giant in retaliation. Mamoru hissed and slung the body of the woman into one of them just as the massive tiger tackled him to the ground. It was fierce beast, sharp teeth and claws raking at him viciously. It scratched the bone armor and dug into the scales and flesh where the morphed shapes didn't reach. Tigers were fast, with claws on all four of their feet. It was easy, even by accident to find the flesh that wasn't covered in bone and tear into it.


Mamoru snarled in pain as the beast attacked him, both bodies rolling in the grass as teeth and claws met bone and fist. The trickster grabbed the tiger's face and slammed his fist into it twice, both blows smashing into it's nose making the animal dizzy. Two large, muscular legs pressed into the fur on the beast belly as he launched the create backwards through the air. By this time the Myrians had collected their weapons and it was their turn to attack. They charged with the tiger out of the way and one was quickly met with the swinging tail of the trickster, sending another air born.


Pushing himself to his feet, he was ready to destroy the other Myrian when the tiger leap in and tackled him again. Once again the two rolled through the grass, Mamoru keeping his head tucked in to protect his throat as the beast slashed and bit at him.
