Taloba, home to the Myrians, is the thriving core of Falyndar. Inhabited by a fierce and savage tribe where blood sacrifices are normal and a way of life, they are untamed and proud of it. Warlike, and with their numbers growing, the Myrians are set on reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. [Lore]

It was a dark night. Clouds covered the vibrant stars, and this was a night were Leth's light did not shine down. This took away some of the beauty from the sky, but it gave a new brightness to the events happening at the Dancing Fires, of which were in full swing when Nanak approached from the empty streets of Taloba at this hour of night.

The beat of drums guided him to the heart of the dances, a throng of people, standing, sitting around a central area, enough room given to the half dozen dancers that were plying their skills for the entertainment of their fellow Myrians.

Nanak shoved his way to the front, a few glares being thrown his way, but nothing he couldn't return just as fiercely. Closer to the main attraction Nanak could see the dancers were comprised of three males and three females, twirling around flaming batons, two of them swallowing fire, even juggling flaming swords, though this seemed restricted to two of the females. They danced in time with the drums, another half circle of musicians collected upon the outskirts of the open space.

Sometimes the dancers drew close to the crowds, twirling fire in front of the onlooker's faces, threatening them with the bright flames before twirling them back a safe distance away. One of the females approached Nanak, her baton floating so close to his face he could feel the heat. Throwing the stick to her other hand she leaned in.

"What a big strong male we have here." The one's around her and Nanak chuckled. "Care to try?" She said twirling her baton.

The pounding of the drums and cheering of kin drew the young Myrian in. It was common for his people to dance amongst fire, but what he saw was new to him. People dancing and swallowing fire, he was intrigued by the sight and pushed himself through the crowd returning any glare with one of his own. The fire glowed off of the young ones bare skin, the flames danced on their own as the torches they clung to were spun and tossed around. His eyes followed one of the females who was close to the crowd, then she brought the flame to his face. The warmth was welcome, but he pulled back a few inches. The flames made his eyes glow, the emerald green burned like the fire that filled Nanak's heart. The pride of his people was a fire that could catch to anyone who danced with them. Then she spoke, "What a big strong male we have here" a taunt that he was used to hearing, still he smiled as her challenge came. "Care to try?" she said. Nanak licked his lips at the idea of dancing with fire, the challenge that was offered by using something that could burn him and controlling it interested him, he couldn't help but nod.

The Myrian woman pulled him out of the crowd and into the open. She hand him the baton, which he grasped tightly. She took another one from one of the male dancers and spun it in her hand with ease. She grinned at him, waving her hand towards him to symbolize it was his turn to try. He took in a deep breath, slowly he used his fingers to turn the torch. It awkwardly turned in his hand, with no symbol of grace or beauty like the ones the firedancers had turned. Laughs could be heard from the crowd as Nanak stopped spinning it. He looked at the lady Myrians wrist, "How" he asked. He didn't understand how she spun it so easily. It looked simple but he couldn't do it. She laughed and looked back at him, she had stopped spinning and help up her arm with the torch in it. She slowly started twirling it, bother her fingers and wrist moved. Slowly first then began to pick up speed, until it was at full speed again. He nodded and began to do the same, twirling his torch with his fingers and wrist in unison. It was awkward at first but then began to pick up speed, he spun it cleanly in full circles. A smile spread across his face, "success!" he said mostly to himself. The crowd behind him clapped their hands, though to most his simple spin. But to him it was a mile stone on the way to greater success. To not be upstaged by the male, the firedancer tossed her torch in the air and caught it ticks before it hit the ground, she instantly spun it in her hand mere inch's above the ground. She brought it back up and laughed, knowing that Nanak would cause a fire if he tried such a trick, the lady Myrian felt a small bit of pride for her would be student. Nanak himself was impressed with the fact that she could do these things with ease. It inspired him to grow in the art of fire dancing, to master the technique and use it to inspire his fellow Myrians like these fire dancers where.

As the night drew on Nanak spun and turned the torch in his hand. He tossed it from one hand to another a few times, only once while it was still spinning. He nearly dropped it, so he decide it was safer for all if he didn't try it again, not yet at least. The dancers were in full swing again, spinning and tossing their torches to one another. The woman that had pulled him out of the crowd walked over to him as his kin was once again distracted by their dancing. "You did good for a young one" she said, a friendly smile across her face. "Thank you for the chance to try" he said with a nod of respect. She stepped back and made a gesture for him to toss the torch back to her. He spun it before tossing it up in the air for her to catch it. She did and spun dancing back to the others. He turned his back towards the dancers and disappeared back into the crowd where he would watch the dancers for the rest of the night. Maybe one day he would be the one dancing in front of the crowd, only time would tell.
