The famous falls of Sunset, the two thousand foot drop was enough to draw the attention of one certain Ethaefal to its base. The days ride had been trying, she had ridden on the back of this kind man’s horse which had smelt. Nox had wanted to leave Samson behind, possibly in her room but has she had mounted the horse she heard his bark of defiance, the stupid dog had ran beside the pair the entire way

As Nox watched the falls catch the light, Samson laid near the water’s edge being showered by the water droplets and huffing, Stupid dog. Samson was a guard dog, it was in his blood he could never change that. Running a hand through her hair Nox realised that she had wasted an entire day ridding and wouldn’t be able to return until the next day, if she started walking now.

Nox had never been able stay out in the wild by herself, Her father’s death had somehow forbidden it in her mind. Yet as she stood there and watched magnificent falls she wished that she could stay there. Nox felt close to both her gods here, it was nice. Taking a seat on a nearby rock Nox laid her hair to the side and wished that her father could be here beside her with that silly pipe of his. The water from the falls began to turn a golden yellow, the sun was setting. At the time it didn’t matter to Now.

Sunset for the Sunset for the Fake Chaktawe[Nanuk]

Weary legs climbed as Nanuk gently huffed. Of course, on his day off, he decides to go see these gorgeous falls...with just enough time to see them at sunset before he's left dark and alone in the wilderness. Dull red eyes craned up in frustration at the horizon, seeing a rise up ahead. He heard, smelled and felt the spray of water near by, which was good. He would need some of that for the night.

He was at least smart enough to have his pack with him, for what good it will do. Yeah, some food will be nice, but he doesn't own packing equipment, nor a weapon. What'll happen when he's bundled next to the falls and a wild animal tries to eat him? The thought made him frown, and he lightly tapped on his kettle drum mindlessly. At least, until he reached the summit.

Angry red eyes turned gold in shock. Sun kissed water fell from the cliff like liquid fire falling from the mouth of a dragon. It was a kind of beauty that he felt his mother described to him, when the Aurora danced in the skies of Avanthal. One day, he will have to see them for himself, but in this moment...this was beauty enough.

It took him a moment to unstun himself from the view to see the woman sitting on the edge with her dog. She looked lovely in the setting sun, and it certainly relieved Nanuk to not be alone in this wilderness. He walked to her, eyes shifted to a sultry purple with a gold fringe inside.

"And here I thought I was lost out here alone," he commented smoothly, coming to a sitting position. He suddenly became aware from the length of her legs that she was most likely taller than he was, and puffed his chest out a little more. "What brings another stranger such as yourself to the falls this evening?" His eyes glanced at the half-set sun, thumbs drumming without thought on the kettle drum between his legs.

Nox had been silently day dreaming as she watched the falls that she didn’t hear Samson growling softly in warning. Nox was sure that the dog in front of her knew that she changed at sunset and on some level understood her need to keep it secret. Vagely looking towards where Samson was looking she noticed that a man had chosen to visit the falls today as well.

“Being a squire with children is trying and I feel closer to my past here”

Nox mumbled softly focusing on the man before her with her pitch black eyes which had started to lighten as she sat in the setting sun. Without noticing the time that had pasted Nox had stayed out to long and had already started to change into her other form, first to change were always her eyes.

Samson barked loudly nudging Nox’s legs with his head however she still took no notice. Nox had been thinking of painful thoughts and they had put her in a sort of numbed of her state where her brain only worked when it was prodded. The sun continued to set behind the pair until it was a just a thin line on the horizon, Nox should have told the man to leave her be, by the time her brain started to turn it was too late. Jumping to her feet Nox grabbed her hair in her hands and looked around.

“Its ah… getting tired.. I mean.. im getting tired, I should live, I mean leave… or at least go stand behind that rock.. over there”

"Being a squire with children is trying and I feel closer to my past here."

Nanuk made a face, accepting the slightly deep reason. But his eyes muddled brown in thought. Children? She didn't look much older than he. He looked her over, keeping a light, happy expression. As her dog began to growl at him, he noticed something different. Her eyes seemed to lighten with the sun descending, but she did not seem Vantha. Her hair did not have a colorful shimmer to it. He brushed back some of his own, a deep velvet shimmer passing through with the fading sunlight.

She appeared anxious. She grabbed her hair, looked around, as though for a way of escape. He suddenly felt himself feeling bad. Did he scare her, by confronting her? It wouldn't be uncommon for a woman to feel threatened by a man approaching her near nightfall. Was she concerned he noticed her body changing?

“Its ah… getting tired.. I mean.. I'm getting tired, I should live, I mean leave… or at least go stand behind that rock.. over there”

Nanuk frowned, eyes muddling a deep empathetic azure, and he gently offered his hand, leaving the other off the drum. "It's alright, my lady," he softly assured her, "I won't harm you. Trust me - " He broke his train of thought, offering a hearty laugh, with a flash of teeth. "I couldn't if I tried. I understand being different, if that's what you're afraid of. I don't know what you want to hide, but I won't tell anyone." He looked around reproachfully, blue eyes freezing lighter with some fear. "I didn't really prepare to spend a night out here, so I'd rather not be alone right now. The wilderness can be dangerous at night, and neither of us should be traveling right now."

He shook the fear from his eyes, and forced them a more comforting green tone. "Shall I drum for you, my lady? Sing you a song? Would that help you feel better?"

Blinking Nox’s eyes turned their normal moving Silver and her hair began to fade by the tick. Hazelnut, Light brown, golden brown, dirty blonde, yellow, platinum blonde and then at last it changed to the winter colours of an ethaefal, silver…

Nox dropped to her knees and covered her face in her hands, she had waited too long, she shouldn’t of come here. There was always a chance she was going to be hated and now was the time for it to come out into the open. The man spoke of change but he knew nothing, she wasn’t a Vantha like he was, by day she was a proud Chaktawe by night she was a silver beauty. As she covered her face and wept silently her skin did the same as her hair and began to lighten until it was its normal opalescent shade had returned.

That’s when the worst part of it began to happen, her violet horns began to grow from her behind her temples, curving around her head and then meeting in a point just before her neck. She was never going to be respected by her fellow squires once this got out. Still weeping into her hands Nox continued to hear growling from Samson but nothing from the man, he probably thought she was a monster.

Without saying a word to him, the woman began to weep into her hands. Goodness, what had he done wrong?! He looked her over perplexedly, as her skin lightened. Once the horns grew out, his jaw dropped and it all made sense. He only heard rumors, stories of the Ethefael in Alvadas. He was told they were beautiful creatures that fell from the sky and present themselves as humans in the day. He caught a glimpse of her silver eyes, and now it all made sense. She mentioned being a squire. Most non-human species are not treated well inside Syliras. He would hate to think what would happen to her if this got out.

"Silver, beautiful lady," He began softly, becoming increasingly aware of the dog's growing growls. "I have never met one of your kind before, so for that I am shocked. I am sure you can...understand that. But I promise you, your secret is safe. I can imagine, being squired at this time, you must hide your true...nature. But please, silver beauty, do not cry." He offered a weak smile, eyes an encouraging mix of blue and green.
