Koyi’s hair is long and black often unkempt. The tattooed marking on her face are a dark blue. Her body is also riddled with tattooed marking similar to the ones on her face. She has them covering her breast. The tattoos starting on the inside of the breast and stretching to her back. She also has several going down her ribs and stomach not going as deep to her core as the other tattoos. The tattoos do not cover her arms or legs. . Where they all meet in the back, they swirl into a circle that surrounds a tribal image of a bear.

Koyi’s eyes are black and she has a membrane in her eyes called a tapetum lucidum, which reflects light back toward her iris to improve night vision. Her lower genitals are only covered by a deep patch of black hair. She stands 5’4 weighing 173 lb in human form, Koyi’s arms and legs swollen with muscle. Her canines protruding out a bit farther than most humans, but not as far as most carnivorous Kelvic types; her skin is a light bronze tan almost as if someone glazed her body with a dark gold honey. Koyi’s nails on her hands and feet tend to grow in a spear like shape if not tended to properly.

In bear form she has a rough black fur coat, her tattoo in human form is seen in a similar design; but only drawn out with a lighter reddish brown fur giving her bear form an almost mysterious tribal look. She is 4 foot on all fours and 6 standing on hind legs weighing in at about 484 lb.

Character Concept

Koyi is a very proud Kelvic woman, often walking with a sense of dominance and pride. This does not mean she doesn’t feel the need to bond like all kelvic’s she just tends to hide it under rebellious actions and words that would suggest otherwise. Koyi has a strong animalistic nature often causing trouble and unneeded conflict. Often a friendly kelvic, she does have her occasional mood swings; more often in winter seasons and when she hasn’t eaten in a while.

Koyi has a strong independent nature for a kelvic. She enjoys the company of others and will enjoy the company of someone she is bonded with even more, but she tends to wander off doing what she wants. When she does cozy up to someone it rarely physically shown, it is often misinterpreted as jealousy or being over protect; you can often catch her growling, glaring, physically roughing, and threating those that bother her bondmate.

This is often a mirror of what her bondmate feels on the inside, but reflected through her with actions and raw emotion. If her bondmate feels fear, she tends to get protective or fearful herself depending on the situation. Koyi can be quite the troublesome kelvic, but is a great bondmate for more quiet and reserved people; able to help them express how they really feel and take action.
Character History

Birth Summer 509-Spring 510/ Spires, The Hidden City

Koyi was born in the summer of 509 in The Hidden City of the Jamourains. Her father and mother both Kelvics. Koyi had never gotten the chance of meeting either, her mother dying at birth and father disappearing before her birth. The only thing she knows about her father is that he is a dire polar bear kelvic. Koyi was adopted by her mother’s bondmate/master, James B. Hogginton her mother bondmate and Koyi’s first. He was more like a father to Koyi then a master, nurturing and scolding her the way a father would his own child. Koyi grew fast going from an infant who couldn’t open her eyes to the equivalent of a 4 year old human within a year.

2nd year Spring 510-Winter 511/ Spires, The Hidden City- Avanthal
James B. Hogginton was a merchant by trade, his main route peddling goods from The Hidden City to Avanthal was his main route taking. He made his home in The Hidden City, but was a Vanthi born in the Whitevine hold. Not wanting to stay there always craving adventure he had traveled out changing his name. Koyi learned this on their trip from the Spires down to Avanthal. She was a curious hyper young kelvic often pestering the other merchants in the group’s youngling kelvics or children to scrap; it was not uncommon for her to be dragged by her ear, hair or wrist to her bondmate for being too rough or bullying the other younglings/children. James would always bow and apologize, it was on this trip when he had started her classes every day at noon teaching her how to read, her basic numbers and writing. These classes didn’t do much for her physical energy, but did satisfy her curiosity causing her to run off less often. Koyi remembered the first snowflake she saw as the slowly reduced the distance to Avanthal, It was such beautiful thing almost like a small white fairy floating down from the heavens; cold to the touch as it landed on her check.

This was before she realized her animal nature and cold didn’t coexist. As James and Koyi neared Avanthal and the temperature dropped, Koyi’s attitude and temper flared making her more rebellious and prone to anger. She also began sleeping more often only doing her lesson with James before falling back asleep; loosing track of time and the memories of the last half of the trip a foggy blur, she does remember the time her bondmate shook her gently waking her as they traveled through the gates of the icewall; the walls seeming to shine and gleam as the sunlight refracted off them making what would appear to be tiny rainbows gleaming within the walls texture.

Koyi eyes open wide in amazement and curiosity as she jumped from the wagon startling the Icewatch guards, running in the direction of the wall; reaching out to touch the wall before cautiously stopping just inches away from the wall almost scared to touch it. Looking back she see her bondmate with a grin on his face nod at her, turning back she placed her hand on feeling the wall cool to the touch. When she touched the wall it sent a chill down her spine, causing her whole body to felt cold and tingly. “Koyi get back here!! You’re going to get left behind” The sound of bondmates voice snapping her back to reality. Koyi could help but skip/run back towards the wagons before finally jumping into James lap and cuddling up to him as the traveled through the city. The first day had been exciting, but the rest seem to go by in a blur as the winter season seemed to come and go.

3rd year Spring 511-Winter 512/ Avanthal – Spire, The Hidden City
Koyi’s a teenager now, her lessons had increased her bondmate began teaching her basic math, Vani and Jamourian. He had also hired someone to teach her self-protection, her trainer wasn’t anyone special; just a man with experience in fighting he didn’t teach her some secret mixed martial arts or how to wield a weapon. Instead he taught her something much better self-preservation, he taught her how to fight not only with her hands and body, but with her environment as well. How to fight dirty and how to get the upper hand using the environment and the tools the gods/deses gave us. The trip back was a blessing to Koyi she was ready to be rid of the cold and snow, but the Icewall still gleamed in the back of her mind she was sure she wanted to see it again. Koyi woke one morning on the trip back alone in the woods; this was a test though at the time she didn’t know it.

Her trainer and James wanted to see if she had any survival instincts and how well she could handle herself under pressure. Koyi could remember that lonely painful feeling in her stomach as she woke the morning dew rolling down her face as she woke with a startle Looking around her heart racing eyes frantic searching for a sign of anyone, all she saw was the tracks of the wagons and horses; racing after the tracks leaving most of her things on the ground. Fear rising in her gullet the feeling overwhelming her causing her to feel as though she was going to vomit, the hope diminishing with every footstep; exhaustion making every footstep feel heavier as the realization she was alone set in.

Koyi couldn’t help but come to a halt and dropped to her knees, tears streaming down her face; her body numb. This was when she went into survival mode, getting up, eyes closed, slowly she took deep breaths before opening her eyes taking in the area. She spied a fruit tree close by, could smell/sense a few small animals nearby and then she noticed it; it was her bondmate’s and trainer’s sent. They were hiding nearby just a little bit off the beaten path. She could feel a small smile grow on her face as she raced towards them only to be encountered by her trainer who jumped from behind a tree with a shout “DEFEND YOURSELF” his fist seeming to be faster than his words as it made contact with her face just as he uttered the last syllable.

His fist knocking her to the ground, her cheek warm as the skin began to bruise underneath. Her trainer not stopping his attack stomped at her, she barely having time to roll away before he kicked up a cloud of dust into her eyes. Koyi stood up quickly trying to brush the dirt out of her eyes as the trainer tackled her knocking her to the ground and pinning her with his weight. She barely had time to get her arms up in a defensive position before he began his attack. Blow after blow seemed to make it pass her guard causing more lumps and bruises on her face. Her trainer took a second to rest. This is when koyi began her counter attack landing a blow in her trainers stomach then following with one to his throat hitting his adams apple causing him lost his breath and fall off of her. Koyi stood up kicking him a few times in the side before running off in the direction of her bondmate. It didn’t take her long to reach him, and the look of relief and worry seemed to fight for control of his face.

She couldn’t help but grin with joy as she ran to him hugging him tightly, she felt James’s arms close around her and she knew she was safe. Her bondmate let her go and got on one saying softly “I’m sorry, dear we had to know you could survive without me” Koyi could only nod saying “Yes sir” before hugging him again. She could hear the footsteps of her trainer as he wobbled back towards them giving a soft chuckle “Good job Koyi, but you have much to learn” She could feel him place his hand on her shoulder giving it a soft squeeze before walking towards the wagons lifting himself up into it. Koyi looked up at her bondmate grabbing his hand squeezing it softly as they walked back to the wagons and finished their journey arriving in The Hidden City a few days later just as Winter blanketed the season.

Spring 512 – Winter 513/ Spire, The Hidden City/ Avanthal

Koyi now a young adult kelvic and appearing like a 20 yr old human. Began the New Year with terror as the Djed storm tore apart the Spires forcing her and her bondmate to take shelter, but something far more sinister lurked in the storm. Several people had broken into their home during the storm, searching for something. They tore apart the house under cover of the storm; Koyi could hear the voice as they began to argue when they couldn’t find anything. Her bondmate seemed to sense the trouble too, placing a finger to his lips in the universal sign of silence. Koyi looked at James the fear apparent in her eyes, the small candle they had lit in the hidden room; reflecting in her eyes causing them to have a peculiar glow.

Koyi’s attention snapped to the bookcase door as the sound of books being thrown from its shelves. She grabbed her bondmates hand with a small whimper, she felt him squeeze her hand in a nurturing reassuring way. This moment of comfort didn’t last long. The blade of an axe split the wood of the book case a glow of light into the room that landed on her face. They were found Koyi couldn’t contain herself anymore. The feeling of fear, self-preservation, and the need to protect her bondmate seemed to overwhelm her she felt numb almost as if she was in a dream. Koyi couldn’t remember standing much less shedding her clothes. She changed into her animalistic form before she charged the door. Destroying the door as her full weight exploded against the weak wood, appearing in a mess of flying wood. Her claws swiping one of the men across the midsection his guts spilling out; the man dropping to his knees as he bled out, hopelessly trying to stuff them back in. She brought her muzzle down on the shoulder of the next man biting down shaking her head as his body flailed around. Koyi caught up in her blood lust kept thrashing the man now dead around until, she felt the man with an axe bring his axe down upon her shoulder leaving a nasty gash in it. Letting go she glared at the man blood dripping from her muzzle, before she stood up rising to her full height. The man brought his axe up charging at her, Koyi ready to strike never got the chance a crossbow bolt took the man in the side of his head, his body falling in a crumpled mess. Koyi change back the man the gutted finally collapsing from blood loss, her shoulder covered in blood that continued to flow from her gash; dripping down her breast, her hand she used to gut the man covered in blood. She looked at the now destroyed doorway. Jame’s just emerged crossbow ready in hand, her clothes held in his other. He looked at her a look of worry on his face, as he tossed her clothes to her. Koyi dressed quickly grabbing some supplies as her bondmate grabbed a few books and notes.

They fled their home that night into the woods, thinking they had gotten away. It wasn’t long when the sound of barking shattered the silence of the forest. Koyi and James looked at each other for a brief second before they started to run, the sounds of dogs and footsteps advanced on them with a slow lumbering pace that woke the earth. “Damn” Koyi breathed out the words, more then she spoke them. She knew they were catching up with them and it was at such a slow painful pace, it was almost as if it was planned to torture their psyche into giving up.

She felt the exhaustion taking hold of her, her limbs getting heavier with each step her breathing become labored; Koyi looked over and could see her bondmate was in even worse condition, he was nearly falling over with every step he took his books and notes missing even the crossbow he had been carry was missing. “You ok Sir?” She watched as he shook his head no before stopping his hands on his knees, his clothing covered in sweat that the cold air chilled on his body making it even harder to breathe. Koyi put her hand on his shoulder ready to spout some encouraging words, when blood spattered on her cheek and an arrow seemed to sprout from his back piercing all the way through his chest. Koyi felt a shiver run down her spine as she watched her bondmate fall to his knees, she watched him reach for his neck pulling with the last of his strength as he stammered out “Take this” the sound of the necklace’s chain as it snapped piercing the numb silence that was taking over Koyi “Wear this always, a friend will find you and take care of you. I always thought of you as my own, I love you” He brushed his hand against her cheek before falling over, his blood staining the forest floor and his breath become still. She ran with a new vigor holding the necklace in her hand she ran, she could recognize where she was from her trips with her bondmate; following the trail she began her journey to Avanthal.

It had taken her quite a while to reach Avanthal and when she finally did. She was half starved covered in filth and blood. The icewatch didn’t take to her too kindly at first raising their weapons at her, but she didn’t remember much after that just waking up in the warrens with the pouch of gold miza’s she had grabbed from her bondmates stash. She felt lucky the icewatch didn’t take it, and was glad she had a warm place to sleep. Koyi slept for three days straight when she first arrived there waking up with hunger pains. Grabbing a warm meal at the warrens before heading out her mind a fog of anger and determination. She headed towards a local tattoo artist requesting a tribal like tattoo. The needle digging into her skin blood dripping, she didn't flinch. Her eyes set straight ahead seeming to glare at something no one but her could see. She sat there not moving for hours so long that when the artist was done her body was stiff. Almost as if it didn't want to move she slid her coat back on fastening the buttons and belt hiding her naked body underneath. Walking out into the cold as a single tear slid halfway down her cheek seeming to freeze against her check as a blast of icy air sent daggers of pain through her raw flesh from the tattoo. She was ready to take action. Koyi walked back to the warrens opening the door into the warm room that was her's. Winter was upon them and it had brought death with it. Was she ready for this, this was the only thought that seemed to race through her mind as the pains of loneliness seemed to numb her emotions. She laid down to sleep, dreaming of a better time. Who knew what awaited her when she woke.
