A surreal cavern city inhabited by Symenestra where stones glow and streets are reams of silk. Cocoon like structures hang between stalactites and cascade over limestone flows in organic and eerie arabesques. Without a Symenestra willing to escort you, entrance is impossible.

"Well, you could help me if you like," He said between grunts as he pulled on the bear's skin. He had skinned many times, but not usually bear. Bear was usually dragged. But they did not have the time for that now.

Skinning was much like an art form to Viridae, and he did not mind the thin layer of blood that coated his long pale fingers. Before Syntinna even had time to respon he had peeled about half of the bear's skin from its torso and was making another slit up its front leg, careful to take the paws and claws along with it.

"So what happens when we get back to Kalinor?" He inquired, while still working at the bear. "Will I see you again?"

Synntina watched him work, quicker then she had expected. He mentioned something about helping, but she made no move toward it. She felt bad for having him do it alone, but he didn't seem to mind it at all. She was content to learn through watching this go round. It was rather disgusting just to watch anyway.

He asked about seeing her again and she paused for a moment, trying to decide if he ment it in any other way but friendly. After a few seconds went by she answered, her voice having a cool, smooth tone,

"What kind of friend would I be if I told you otherwise?"

She said with a shrug, continuing,

"It is up to you wether or not you require my company."

Synntina shifted her weight onto her other leg, reaching one hand up to rub her shoulder gently, careful not to cut herself with her own claws. She glanced up to the sky, watching as it was slowly turning a bright orange. Maybe they had rested to long. Looking back at Viridae she frowned, speaking once again,

"The smell might attract not so wanted visitors here soon.."

"Well you don't have to sound so....Gaurded," He said with a smile over his shoulder as he went to work on the bear.

"The scent is of no matter, we're almost done," Viridae replied s he peeled the last bit of pelt from the bear, before stuffing it into his back pack. The last thing he took was the beast's thick skull, and a few flanks of meat, which he wrapped in silk and stuffed in along side the pelt.

"The skull is for you," He said as he stood, rolling dirt over his hands to clean them before clapping it off. "Its something my family does to remember hunts. Sort of like....a trophy. Ready to go? Its likely to be a bit of a walk back to Kalinor."

Synntina frowned at his comment. Did she really sound that guarded? She did not mean it that way. She enjoyed Viridae's company after all.. His smile suggested that he was kidding, or at least teasing her. But Synntina still crossed her arms over her chest, a bit confused by it all.

Maybe she was a little bit guarded, she always had been. She didn't have many friends as a child, and even now the only person she could really call a friend was Viridae. She let her clawed fingers run over the two bracelets on her arm absentmindedly while she watched him, still thinking this all over in her head.

Viridae rose up with the bears skull it his hands, putting it in his pack along with the skin and meat. She felt bad that she wasn't carrying anything. In fact, besides the experience and an arrow or two, she didn't do much at all this hunt. Which was a bit disapointing, but maybe it was for the better. He spoke, saying the skull was for her and she was about to shrug it off, saying he didn't have to do that, when he explained what it symbolised in his family. She gave a small nod and spoke, her voice calm but it had a nicer tone then her usual hollowness.

"That's interesting that your family does that. My father never did anything of the sort. ... And yes, I think it would be wise to leave now."

Synntina uncrossed her arms and made sure all her items were with her and secure on her person before waiting for Viridae to take the lead. She would have, but she did not come out hunting this far often, and would be afraid of embaresing herself if they got lost.

The walk back to Kalinor would be long, and the sun began to sink slowly into the horizon, casting shades of pale pink across the tree tops.

Viridae looked to Synntina again and gave her a small nod, indicating he was ready to leave.

"You can keep the spoils," He decided as they walked onward. "I have plenty of snares to check in these next few days, but this is your first bear. I suggest you make something nice of the pelt. After all, nothing marks a good hunter like fine leather."

With his last sentence he winked and trudged onward towards home. The pair of them made a good team, and he was looking foreword to Synntina's company in the future. After all, in these hard times friends were hard to come by.

Syntinna stayed quiet for most of the way back, watching Viridae and the forest around them. It was calming. A nice change of pace from the city, which always seemed to be full of life in some kind of form. She turned her gaze to look over the horizon at the setting sun, which was glowing in shades of pink and orange through the trees.

She turned her golden gaze back to Viridae just as he turned toward her to speak. She listened to him, and nodded softly. She would have protested that she hardly did anything but shoot an arrow or two at a bear, but she suddenly realized how tired she was from the walk and the whole experience. She nodded with a sort of bow to say goodbye to the other hunter, watching him leave toward the gates.

She stood outside for a few more moments, turning again to look into the forest. She decided then that Viridae would probably be the closest thing to a friend she had anymore. She didn't really talk to people, nor did she have siblings. Synntina's eyes looked down at her wrist against the two bracelets touching each other. She looked back up to the forest and smiled softly before turning and heading toward the gates herself.
