Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Now this is something truly especial...” the Akalak said as he handed Stefan a leather bracelet, with some animal bones carved with a spiral design, but some pieces of silver on the edges and connections along the leather gave the bracelet a truly charming appeal “And only for ten golden mizas!”

“Especial indeed... but sadly, I don’t that money with me... what about five silver mizas, lad?” The young man haggled with the man, but not only to get a good price, but to distract him from what Adi was doing. He maintained eye contact, and waited for an answer, careful to not to look at his side to see how the Vantha was doing.

“Five? Are you insane, Human? I’ll need at least eight mizas for that” the Akalak said quickly, and was equally replied by Stefan.

“Make it seven, and we have a deal, what to do you say?” the Akalak looked at him pondering looking at the young man in the eye; he waited for an awnser, but as soon as he felt a tap on his back, he added, in an impatient tone “So?”

Alright, alright, seven mizas and we have a deal” the shopkeeper gave Stefan the bracelet in exchange of the money. He caught the image of Adi walking away in the corner of his eye. Smiling, and putting the bracelet in his pocket, he waited a Chime before following the gal, getting too away from the Warrens. He sat alongside the Vantha, who had an excited expression on her face, with her eyes closed in bliss. Stefan’s smile grew; he knew that feeling, the feeling of someone stepping on your heel and that thrill of committing a crime, not knowing if you could get away with it... again, Stefan licked the scar on his lip.

However, before Stefan could say anything, there was another voice that cried “thief!”, and Stefan breathed deeply. Somehow, they discovered them... but panicking was the last thing they needed to do. He needed to think quick... and got an idea.

“Adi, I’m sorry for this.” He said as he caressed Adi’s face with his hand and gave her a kiss on the mouth, deep, passionate and long.

The blue man passed by, but ignored the two lovebirds and continued his way, looking for the thief that stole the bracelet. Stefan wasn’t sure if he walked away, but after a couple of Chimes, he separated himself from Adi. “...Never mind. I’m not sorry at all.” He said with a smile on his face.

“Exciting, wasn’t it? But again... it’s like a one-night stand. If you’re good at it and you like it, we can repeat this. Take some days to think about it, but I don’t recommend you to see me in that time, just in case...“ As he said it, he gave the silver bracelet to the Vantha “Take this. Consider it the beginning of a profitable friendship...” with a wink, he stood up and walked away, getting lost in the darkness.

Old Habits Die Hard (Adi Skyglow)

The aspiring thief took a moment to catch her breath and slow her pulse down on the bench, exhilarated and breathless from the recent venture into larceny. Her mind was everywhere and nowhere, racing yet oddly focused. The bone bracelet dug into her wrist, a reminder of the act she'd just committed. Adi tugged her sleeve down to cover it, eyes still closed.

From the distance, she heard the sound of someone walking towards her and sitting down on the bench next to her. Adi resisted the urge to make a comment about the weather, choosing instead to keep her eyes closed. If it was Stefan (who else would it be?) then he would speak to her in due time. If it wasn't, then if they wanted to make conversation with her they would. Why, though, would someone come sit next to a panting stranger with their eyes closed on a bench in an area where there were almost certainly more benches around? Her left hand brushed strands of black hair out of her face, purple not evident since Syna had retreated to rest for the evening.

Then there was a loud cry of 'thief!' from the bazaar.

Shyke. Shyke. They know. I'm petched!

She had nothing. No ideas, no plan B, no backup to save them when they discovered. All she could do was sit and hope they'd remain undiscovered-or hope Stefan came up with a plan. Just as she finished the thought, his voice came from next to her-so it is Stefan!

“Adi, I’m sorry for this,” said the man next to her. The young Vantha barely had time to recognize what he said before she felt his hand caress her face. Adi flinched when his lips met hers, but she managed not to panic or pull away. It took her a moment to realize the display of affection would make anyone looking in their direction uncomfortable...besides, who would suspect a pair of lovebirds for thieves?

With a deep breath, Adi smirked after they seperated. "Eh. I've had better," she teased, returning his smile.

One-night stand with thievery? The potential to become something more...in the strictest business sense, of course. Hah. Why would I have meant anything else. I don't do one-night stands.

Adi shook her head to clear her mind and was surprised when her companion presented her with a bracelet. She'd seen him making the transaction with the Akalak who ran the jewelry stand, but she wasn't expecting him to have someone in mind to give it to. The smirk returned as the young Vantha slid it on her wrist next to the bone bracelet. It'd be a memento of today's adventure. A very interesting one. She'd be sure to ponder his offer. Hopefully it wouldn't be too long before they met next.

Old Habits Die Hard (Adi Skyglow)

XP AWARD!
Thanks for threading in Riverfall.

Character: Adi Skyglow
Experience: Planning +2, Observation +2, Socialization +3, Subterfuge +2, Larceny +1
Lore: Storytelling: Brainstorming For Plot, Subterfuge: Covering For Someone, Subterfuge: Causing a Distraction,
Loot: 1 bone bracelet

Additional Note: Well, its short but then again nothing you can do about it when your partner gets retired for being a turd.. You kinda slip in and out of a Cockney Brittish accent there, which is kind of confusing coming from anyone on Mizahar, especially a Vantha. Otherwise, I liked the spirit of the thread. Too bad it couldn’t have carried on.
