Flashback [Bronze Woods] Twintails (Nilika)

The Bronze Woods, 7th of Bell, 31st of Summer 507 A.V

"Aaaah~" The relaxed sigh of a short-looking female echoed in a clearing as Aka laid her human-formed body onto a rather large and flat rock, taking in Syna's morning light. She was a cold-blooded individual and unlike her future self where she would be marked by Ivak, this Aka was very much like any other Dhani, she required decent amount of heat to warm up her muscles. The Viper's scarlet slitted eyes fluttered to a close as she shifted her body, using both of her arms as pillows behind her head, relaxing in the morning air of the lush Bronze Woods.

Just yesterday, she had met a peculiar human hunter named "Nathaniel", they started out sour, mainly due Aka's childish tantrum, but... they bonded in the end through a hunting session, in which they both fought a cougar who was trying to steal their kill. After that, they bathed in the Avitar River to wash off the blood, Aka blushed as she recalled what happened next. Driven by her affection for the human and inherent carnal need as Spring was the Dhani mating season, Aka approached him in an awkward seductive manner, which Nathaniel politely refused as he didn't want to take advantage. Aka felt like a cheap prostitute who sold herself just for pleasure, not money, but thankfully, the man was a gentleman and understood her. Then, they parted ways... One of the reasons Aka chose this particular clearing was hoping Nathaniel would stumble upon her again.

The Viper look to her side, into the treeline, her heart slightly fluttering as she heard footsteps heading to her direction, was it Nathaniel? Or... was it another hunter? Might be just a deer. Still, driven by caution and curiosity, Aka kept silent as she waited for that someone - or something - to arrive. In the back of her mind, Aka idly prepared herself to exhume res should that something turned out to be something hostile. Hopefully, it wouldn't be so, hopefully, it was Nathaniel. Her Dhani pride reprimanded her for it, but she had to admit a form of crush had bloomed within her. A Dhani with a human, what madness was this?

Nilika hesitantly poked the tree quickly while her grandmother started to look around the woods for a camping spot. N’Fisa had decided to take her grandchild camping for a bit while in Syliras. The elder Konti didn’t quite go deep into the forest almost about the edge so that would have a lower chance of running into any unwanted creatures. The grandma turned and watched Nilika with vigilant eyes. She was debating on leaving the youth here to look for more open space or letting her go with the elder. If the Konti went by herself, she would have covered much more ground than with the child following after.

“Nilika how about you stay here for a moment,” N’Fisa tried to sound encouraging the girl, but felt like she was failing. Nilika, however; just stared at her grandmother for a moment before nodding her understanding. She already had a theory why the older woman wanted to leave her. The youngster knew she wasn’t quite fast when it came to walking or running. To be perfectly straight, if something were to happen, she would be the first one dead due to her slowness. N’Fisa smiled and threw up thumbs up before venturing further into the woods.

How stupid is my grandmother, Nilika wanted to say so bad. What kind of person leaves a 10 year old in the forest with no protection at all? A sigh left her lips before accidently leaning against the tree she was expecting. Tears started to leap forward to her eyes a little. The tree was sad was she could tell from the touch. Looking around the floor of the forest, she noticed that the tree was dying and aging. She rubbed her little tears and looked up at the tall tree. A yellow butterfly fluttered from its branches and hovered over the child’s head. Small chubby but sliming hands reached up to catch it. The insect was much faster and fluttered quickly in another direction. Nilika followed it, mind forgetting that her guardian told her to stay.

She followed it to a clearing where a person was laying on the ground. She had black hair and red eyes that startled the 10 year old. So many warning signs went off in mind’s eye but she paid no heed to them. Her curiosity won the best of her. Taking an attentive step forward, Nilika started to close the space little by little between them. Stopping about 6 feet away, she started to twist her hands not knowing what to do next. Introduce yourself first, that how you get to know stranger, she decided to take the advice of N’Fisa. “H-h-hi my n-name is N-n-n-Nilika,” she whispered out with her eyes to the ground.

"Nnnh?" The Viper's gave a slight groan when she heard voices, female in nature, obviously not Nathaniel. Wait, was she truly expecting him? Odd, very odd. The Viper decided to lay off her feelings for the human to investigate this newcomer. It was a... "You gotta be kidding me..." A girl, a very young girl, with ocean blue eyes, and long white hair tied in twintails, similar to her own. Aka's eyes went wide as she stared into the smaller invert-colored reflection of herself.

Upon further inspection however, Aka noted the strange shimmering scales on the girl's pale skin, was she half-fish or something? The Viper had little knowledge about the Konti race, Aka shifted to a sitting position when the fish-child greeted her. "..." The girl stuttered like no tomorrow, this annoyed Aka, she was acting too timid for Siku's sake, as if Aka wanted to eat her or something. The girl looked delicious though, but Aka wasn't fond of eating a fellow sentient race, especially around Syliras where armored louts patrolled everywhere.

Groaning, Aka decided to stand up, facing the girl, smirking at the fact that she was taller than this 4 feet and a half little girl. It might be pathetic of her to compare herself to a young child, but... damn it, whatever. The Viper arrogantly put her right hand to her hip, "Oh, hi, N-n-nilika." She was obviously mocking the girl's stutter, "My, my, what are you doing here?" Aka's slitted scarlet eyes searched left and right, looking for her companions, parents most likely, but they were nowhere to be seen, "What are you doing here, alone? Ssstrange, children usssually don't travel alone or perhapsss..." The Viper slurred her lisp, quickly closing the distance using her superior Viper speed and agility, both of her hands reached out to grab at the white-haired girl's shoulders, "Are you lossst? Bad monstersss in the Woodsss you know, they might eat you..."
