Ditana has tan brown skin with black, rough hair that trails down her back and covers most of her face, only leaving only the right side of her face below her eyebrow visible. She looks rather mannish despite the excess hair and would be viewed more towards handsome than pretty. She’s often seen with a scowl on her face and her dark blue,, almost black, eyes are narrow, giving off the appearance that she’s in a bad mood when she’s really content thanks to the hard look in her eyes. The nails on her hands and feet are sharp enough to break skin and curve slightly, but they don’t seem to be abnormally big so they can’t do much damage. Her teeth are just like her nail with the exception of two enlarged canines, one manages to fit comfortably in her mouth while the other curved in her gum and grown outwards so it hands below her bottom lip. There are two other enlarged ones on the bottom of her mouth, both of which fit comfortably. Ditana is also rarely, if ever, seen wearing any shoes or footwear in general. Only when she goes out does she put on brown pants and a black shirt, occasionally wearing her cloak like a cape for no discernible reason other than the fact that she wants to. Any other time she’s walking around in the nude. She looks almost too thin, but looking carefully you’ll see a tough layer of muscle that’s built up, but she will start gaining weight during the fall season.

Ditana has nothing that could distinguish her from other bears except for her curved tooth and a scar on her side - even though it’s almost unnoticeable in her human form, the lack of fur in that area along with how less thick that patch is from the rest of her fur shows where the injury used to be.

Character Concept

Ditana always has a scowl or uninterested look on her face no matter what, which makes most people think she's unhappy with them or something happened recently. She doesn't bother to talk to people much and would rather be alone than in a crowd, but when she sees someone that needs help and she'll do what she can to help - even if there's not much she can do - instead of just leaving them struggling. She finds clothes uncomfortable and stupid, so she'll wear as little as decently possible along with only buying the cheapest ones so they'll tear easier and give her some sense of freedom. When she isn't working to bring in a little extra cash or helping someone out, she's somewhere in the Cobalt Mountains either hunting or relaxing in a tree, sometimes picking up an abandoned book on.
When Ditana begins to warm up to someone the look on her face towards them will soften and she'll steadily begin to lurk around them more until she's sure about them - what she wasn't sure about is a mystery and might have just been instinctual - before leaving them to themselves.

Character History

Born in Ravok, Ditana hid the fact that she was a kelvic while living with her father until he was taken away as a slave. She managed to get away, with a gash on her side from a well placed knife, and managed to hide until she blacked out from blood loss. When she woke up she was being cared for by a stranger who was careful not to bond with her until she was the next season when she turned 3, and during mid-spring he helped ship her off to Zeltiva.
From that point she managed to string together enough money to get by through small jobs and on rare occasions she would sell a pelt that wasn't ruined by her teeth and claws. She eventually befriended an old ship captain that would give her small jobs working on his ships when it was docked. Sometimes he let her just wander around the ship and lurk, occasionally alerting her that he knew she was there and tell her stories about the places he traveled to and the people he's met, sometimes talking in another language often enough to pick up simple words and a few phrases, lending her books about traveling both on sea and on land, and eventually asking if she'd come with him and his crew on after his last visit to the port city. After a bit of thought she declined, mainly because she enjoyed solid land much more, but before he sailed off he gave her a map of all Syliras and an angle-knife.
Once he was gone she started to feel lonely and missed being told stories about other places, so she started going to the library and started reading the records left by sailors and map-makers, things about the lands themselves and a bit about the animals and monsters encountered on those travels. More often than not she struggled to read many of the books she held, and soon a nice woman working a the library would look over her shoulder and say the word or phrase she couldn't make any sense of. It wasn't long after that when she would have the librarian read things she didn't understand for her - though Ditana's reading skills just barely improved throughout this time - she found herself wanting to go on her own adventure, at least to a new city.
Before she left the librarian told her that wherever she went she should always try to help others like she would want them to help her, and that stuck with her throughout her time travels, though because she didn’t know how to read a map properly she ended up in Sunberth on the 36th of Spring.
