[Laviku's Temple] Under Odd Circumstances (Shall)

20th of Spring 514AV
Lani's black eyes turned up to the temple. It was truly magnificent. Wistful thoughts on the idea of the well-built religion filled her mind as she stepped past the threshold. Great stairs opened the room, which itself as enormous. The temple looked as if she stepped into the ocean itself, seashells and artistically painted waves adorned the walls. The bright white light from the sun shone through the clear glass windows, mingling with the candles that were set up around the room, giving off the feeling of an evening on the beach. The temple itself was had a muted quiet that filled the vast room. Not an empty quiet of an abandoned room, but no one was speaking too loudly. Whispered prayers and conversations cushioned the silence so that it was a welcoming absence of sound. Filling most of the room were cushioned benches and stands to kneel upon, meant for formal prayer. Lani looked around the room, someone intimidated by it. If she came in without the purpose to worship, did she had the right to be here? It felt as if her intent to simply admire the God, was unworthy of Laviku's temple. Deciding that since no one had come down on her, with Godly messages of her lack of reason to be here, she would stay. There was little religious prosecution in Mizahar, non-believers were common and mostly accepted. Except she wasn't a non-believer, she was simply a non-worshiper.

He stood in the center of the temple. Laviku. Well not the God himself, down the center of the room was a carpeted walkway, leading to the most intricate carving Lani had ever seen. She stood at the door, just admiring the room for a second. Wiggling her toes uncomfortably in her boots, Lani stepped forward. Her breathes swallowed, the temple gave her a different mood. She came in with excited curiosity, but as she slowly took steps further into the temple, a respectful awe settled in her chest. Lani glanced down, looking at the floor under her shoes. She was used to being able to feel the smooth wood with her feet, but with her shoes on, she couldn't. The feeling was so odd and foreign to her, that she felt the sudden urge to throw her shoes across the room or burn them. She hated the damned things. Sighing, Lani took the seat closest to her, at the very end of the benches. Easing her feet out of her shoes so that they were just resting on top of them, Lani folded her hands in her lap. It was a whole lot less exciting than she thought it would be. Lani turned her head, to look at the entrance behind her. A priest sat in the very front of the temple, but no ceremonies or group forms of worship were going on.

Lani turned to her right, no on sat in her bench. There was no immediate conversations to be made, no one to ask about the religion. Lani sighed, letting her head hang, looking down at her lap. It would be rude to walk in and walk out. She came here for a reason. Well, Lani came here because she was bored and she had nothing better to do this early in the morning while she waited for her class. But she still decided to stop in a Temple, so she can't just leave. Lani turned her head up to look to her left, a new sight. A Konti!

The familiar race seemed to ease Lani some, as she looked at the woman for a second. The pale hair and scaly skin was so familiar to Lani from both the short time she spent in Mura, and her travels with her mother. Another girl sat beside her, a simple human, who had looked up in time to make eye contact. Lani glanced down at her hands again, her usual piper attitude had been muted some, out of respect for the God, who's temple she currently sat in. Slipping her feet back into her shoes, she glanced over again, wanting so badly to make conversation with the Konti. She was very fond of the race, the pale women were always nice and rarely close-minded to her, or her eyes. Again, the human girl caught her eye, and Lani brought her hand up to wave. The girl didn't seem to be praying, like Lani. It couldn't bother her to make conversation could it? Lani looked around the temple one last time, and stood up.

"You do worship here?" Lani's choppy Kontinese flew form her mouth, as she sat down. She didn't bother to assume whether the human knew the language or not, but she was mainly focused on the Konti beside her. Little though was given to whether she was bothering the woman or not, her curiosity and interest was dictating her moves already. "My name are- is Lani. My name is Lani." Lani introduced herself, stumbling a bit on the language. She repeated herself, thinking she sounded like a child. But she wanted to speak in her second tongue, she was rusty and needed to use it more often than she did.
