Character Description:
Ko'mino favors a human with the wings of an insect, lacking any color (including clothing), but full of delicate details. She stands no more than six inches tall, with wild wavy hair, a thin frame, and oddly curved elongated ears.
This current form was brought on by her excessive time spent with travelling minstrels who sang and wrote poems about beautiful young girls and handsome young men falling in love. Ko'mino adored their stories so much, that she dreamed about them while she slept. She thought about such fictional tales while awake, and asked to be told the stories over, time and again. Shortly before separating from the minstrels, Ko'mino awakened to find herself in such a form.
Her former form favored that of a chubby child, reflecting her want for learning and growth.
Chosen deity:
Ko’mino reveres Harameus as her chosen deity, but is intrigued with Rhaus (for his association with music and poetry), Syna (because she floats in the sky, waking up the world urging adventurers to commence in their travels), and Semele (Alchemist Rupert Pycon borrowed components from Semele, allowing the Pycon to be given shape and life) as well.
Reasons for choosing this deity:
Ko’mino believes, through and through, that without the goddess of the earth, there would be no Pycon. Rupert Pycon might have actually originally “given life” to the Pycon, but they borrowed the components from Semele herself, and thus, it was Semele who allowed the Pycon to be.
But, Ko’mino also believes that Harameus granted Rupert Pycon the ability, intellect and power to feed life into the Pycon. They were “powered” by Harameus, and Rupert was simply an avid follower.
Favorite Color:
Blue (It is the color of the sky in which Ko’mino wishes she could soar, fully incased in the color.)
Least favored color:
Black (It is dark and lacks joyful sentiments.)
Personality (Likes and Dislikes):
Ko’mino’s greatest desire is to see all there is to see. Experience all there is to experience. Her imagination knows no bounds, nor does her cheerfulness. She is not hard to please as the little Pycon is content with almost everything. Music is her favorite entertainment, as is simply watching the sky. Ko’mino is quiet, but may be slightly annoying when she wants to travel with the “tall ones”.
Quirks:
Ko’mino refers to herself in first person. When she was granted the name, she loved it so much that she began saying it aloud every chance she was given.
The Pycon refers to anyone taller than her (humans) as “tall ones”, and they are the ones she seeks for companionship because she finds them faster travelers than herself, and worthy of protecting her.
Ko’mino refers to shorter beings as “nearly-tall ones” because they are still taller than she, but shorter than the “tall ones”.
The little clay being believes that her final true form will be a giant tree, reaching up towards the heavens and rivaling all others in size and beauty.
Favorite race of people that isn't your own:
The Kelvic are the most intriguing, as they can switch between two forms flawlessly.
Least favorite race of people that is not your own:
The “dead ones”. Anything that is dead, or moves even though it no longer lives, unnerves Ko’mino. Ghosts and Desolate Ones alike.
Favorite weather:
Sunshine! You won't see Ko’mino out in the rain, no sir!
Ko’mino adores the sunlight, as the travel can continue forth. When it rains, she retreats into what ever shelter she can find until the storm passes. It slows down her adventure, and Ko’mino worries constantly that she won’t get to see everything before her time has run out.
Do they prefer day or night?
Day. Weird things tend to happen at night, and Ko’mino hides after the sun has disappeared. The Pycon fears that the “dead ones” will materialize and torment her.
Where does your character most often dwell or mingle?
When seeking a worthy “tall one” Ko’mino can be found standing in a street corner advertising her need for adventure. The Pycon won’t wander into taverns for fear of being kicked or stomped, and will instead linger without, waiting for a worthy “tall one” to notice her. She also enjoys listening to bards sing, and is drawn to taverns just to hear them.
What one word best describes your character's personality?
Positive.
Does your character often seek fights or avoid conflict altogether?
Ko’mino tries to avoid any sort of conflict at all. She adores the “tall ones” but they have a tendency to step on her, and kick. Beasts like to carry her about, and chew. When other beings tred nearby, Ko’mino gets nervous.
Background History:
Ko’mino was given her name by a human man by the name of Malkarus Hultredt when she was but two. He was the first human to help begin the little Pycon’s journey. But, as all great things must, their three-year partnership ended when Mal was forced to go his separate way. A way that Ko'mino did not desire to travel.
Malkarus was a somewhat “elegant” (loosely) bard, who traveled with a large group. The human offered his assistance to the little Pycon, and for three years they remained together. Their travels were simple, and a wonderful learning experience for Ko’mino. And it was the bard who inspired Ko'mino's leaf-like wings to take form sprouting forth from her clay back.
When the human discovered that the Pycon had not been given a name by her parents, he all but wept at the idea. Instead, Ko’mino had given herself the name “Fla”. But, Malkarus wouldn't let that pass. So, the bard renamed her “Ko’mino”.
Ko’mino was ecstatic to receive her new name. It sounded like a name given to beautiful woman out of a poem. In fact, she loved her new name so much, that the Pycon took to referring to herself as “Ko’mino”.
Ko’mino’s greatest desire is to travel the world and see all there is to see. And, the little Pycon wants to see it all before her life ends.
She constantly worries that she won’t get to experience everything before that time, so she sometimes tries to rush her companions onward during the daylight hours to speed up the journey.
When left to her own devices, Ko’mino can be found scouting out new companions. But she often times gets distracted by the brilliance of the blue sky, and can stare at it for hours lost in thought. When she realizes how much time has passed while she was “spacing”, the Pycon panics at the lost time she should have been spending furthering her journey.
To Ko’mino, experiencing the world is traveling, for that is all she has done. She forgets about the little things, and focuses instead on the “big picture”.
Ko’mino is a happy, and mostly positive creature. Besides despising the night, rain and “dead ones”, not much else can get her down. She doesn't complain much, unless the journey is slowing to a halt, or is halted. The little Pycon can find content in mostly anything.
The little clay creature is fiercely loyal to her partners so long as they protect her and do not betray her trust. And, when exposed to conflict, Ko’mino will either hide or try to run away. Her greatest fear is to be broken or disfigured.
Family:
Ko'mino grew up like any other Pycon might have. But, home grew boring and bland. Her "mother" and "father" always told Ko'mino of their great adventures, in turn, fueling her desire to travel.
Life Growing up:
Ko'mino had a wonderful "childhood", and the other Pycon taught her much. She learned to help out in the fields, and became a very capable person. Though, Ko'mino spent most of her time staring awestruck at her elders' statues, simply imagining what they must have seen and experienced in their lifetimes.
The little Pycon took up painting to record her experiences early on, and has become quite fond of producing the pieces. Though, she doesn't hang on to them long, normally selling them to others to share her growing legacy.
The story behind the name: Ko'mino was given her name by a travelling bard by the name of Malkarus Hultredt. Originally, Ko'mino called herself "Fla", but when the bard discovered that the Pycon had selected her own name, he took it upon himself to re-name her.
The Pycon's original name, "Fla" was taken from the word "Flora" and shortened to something Ko'mino found appropriate, as she did indeed love the vegetation growing around her Pyve.
Life on the road:
Malkarus was the first and only person Ko'mino has ever traveled with, besides the large group of minstrels the bard stayed with, and they did so for three years. They met their challenges, and survived the thrills. They made friends, and saw many things. Nonetheless, the journey was never dull. "On the road" is where Ko'mino wants to be.
