Koruma

Appearance

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Birthday: : 8th of Spring 499
Birthplace: Sunberth
Other: Left-handed

Appearance:
Koruma is what most would call a late bloomer. Although he has lived for 15 years, his rounded cheeks and large grey eyes give him the appearance of a 12-year-old. Various thin scars litter his arms and legs, telling tales of his accidents and failures. Additionally, Koruma is almost never without a bruise or scratch. If questioned though, he wouldn’t be able to say where he obtained the tiny injuries. A single scar runs the length of his forehead, but he does his best to hide this with his thick mop of hair. The back of his neck and ears remain completely covered by his wavy amber hair.

At present, Koruma has yet to hit his growth spurt and stands at approximately 5 feet 2 inches. However, he shows signs of a growing period with his slightly lanky legs and oversized feet. Koruma’s steps are light and lithe… when he isn’t tripping. Koruma speaks in a quiet, hushed tone. His whispers often end up in jumbled murmurs and he’s prone to stuttering and mumbling. When talking to strangers or even those who he has met before, he will look at his hands or the feet of the person he is addressing.

Update: As of late Fall, Koruma has grown and is now 5 foot 4 inches.

Character Concept

Nervous and twitchy are the best ways to describe Koruma. He isn’t very good with strangers and has a habit playing with his hands or the scar on his forehead. Koruma is the very definition of an introvert and often enjoys sitting in solitude to work on his whittling. However, like most kids his age, Koruma is easily won over with the promise of sweets. Dogs especially draw Koruma like a magnet. His loyalty is just as easily lost if he is offered eggs.

Although his upbringing has taught Koruma to be a killer, taking that final step is just beyond boy. Try as he might to listen to his masters and follow their teachings, Koruma is unable to bring himself to kill another. More importantly, while he is used to seeing blood on himself, the sight of blood on anyone else will cause Koruma to become queasy and even pass out.

Koruma’s only true passion lies in his whittling. He enjoys carving simplistic shapes and working with various types of wood. If left alone, he could spend hours simply carving away at a small block. As of right now, Koruma has little interest in girls or boys in any romantic way.

Koruma's introverted nature has left the teen with no real friends to speak of or any peers that he regularly socializes with. Additionally, he suffers from depression and shows some suicidal tendencies.

Character History

Pre-Creation:
Koruma was orphaned at a young age. With no worldly possessions or home to call his own, he was quickly swallowed by the shadows. A relatively unorganized group of killers and assassins took him and raised him as one of their own. From a small age he was taught how to handle knives and became learned in the art of sword play. They showed him how to create deadly poisons and taught him how to read and write. Codes and secrets became his life and learning the art of killing was centered in ever lesson.

Unfortunately for himself and those who raised him, Koruma turned out to have zero talent in almost anything they put him too. Sword lessons often ended in disaster and Koruma was quickly covered in scars, most of his own making. His clumsy and shy nature proved to be a foil for his lessons. Although they tried to teach him how to craft poisons, his best attempts ended in failures and his worst in even more disasters.

The only think Koruma excelled in was stealth, although even then he had a tendency to screw up. Koruma quickly learned to hate his lessons and skipped them as often as he could to find some secret place to whittle and simply be alone. When he finally turned 15, the groups patience was at an end. They left the boy with only a knife and the ultimatum to either kill someone or never return.

Character Concept

Moon is a low-content wolf-dog. This means that she is a hybrid between a wolf and a dog. Most of her is a dog, while a small percentage of her is wolf. More to come later/
