AppearanceRace: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Birthday: 36th of Fall, 496 AD
Birthplace: Kenash
Physical Details: Augusta is lean, thanks to years of hard labor, but stands at average height of 5'4", and 120 pounds. She is usually seen wearing the typical clothes of a slaved woman- a billowy, ill-fitted floral cotton dress that stops just short of her knees, often dirtied as a result of laborious household chores. Her shoes, once a polished brown, are long worn and tattered and adorn various sized holes.
Because she spends long days working, she opts to have her hair tied back in a simple bun. On the rare occasion it's left hanging, it cascades down her back in pinched curls, her chestnut tresses settling below the blades of her shoulders. Though she primarily works indoors, she is not a stranger to the harsh rays of Kenash's summer days. As a result, her ivory skin takes on an angry reddened hue, which she wears well into the weeks of fall. Despite being advised to not look others in the eyes, if one were to hold her gaze, they would see mossy green eyes speckled with gold around the iris.
Character ConceptNever one to bring unwanted attention to herself, Augusta prefers to live much of her life in seclusion. Outside of her neighbors, she speaks to very few, and is one who will only speak up when addressed. Because of her upbringing as a slave, she is initially distrustful, and opens up to no one. She is a firm believer in minding her own business, never sticking her nose in others, for she knows doing so could bring dire consequences.
As a slave, she is allotted very little free time. In the rare occurrence she has a few idle hours, she enjoys writing in her old leathered journal, dreaming of better days ahead.
Character HistoryAugusta was one of six children. The last one born to her Smithsonian father and Homemaker mother. Because money was tight in a family of eight, when Augusta was six, she was sold to an adjacent farm with the ill promise she would be well cared for and fed. 'Don't you worry, my dear Augusta. It'll be like an extended visit,' her mother had told her before sending her down the dusty road to the neighboring house. Augusta was naive enough to believe her.
The neighbors kept up the facade long enough that over time, her parents stopped checking in on her, ceasing written communication. One day years past, Augusta was airing out laundry when she chanced a look over the field beyond. She could see the small house, nothing more than a speck on the horizon, but what startled her was what was hanging in the windowed alcove. `For Sale' it read in bold red letters. A sharp contrast against the wooden boards covering all but one window.
She muffled a cry, biting down on her lip as tears began to spring forth, staining the thin fabric of her dress. It was as if she was all but forgotten.

Heirloom: A worn, leathered journal.
To an outsider, it would hold very little visual appeal, but to Augusta, it means everything. Stolen off her neighbors nightstand upon arrival, the journal contains years of Augusta's inner struggles. Being as she is to communicate with very few, Augusta's form of self-expression is poured onto the journals frayed pages.
