Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

The Akvatari bit back any smart remark he might have made in an effort to keep the friendly sailor near him. At least until I get Wayne to the tavern. Cal reminded himself.

Hesitantly, he grabbed the outstretched hand and shook it once, looking down at the man's feet. He soon dropped the hand, crossing his arms over his chest and peering for the first time into the sailor's eyes.

"Calters. Or Cal, if you're a nickname kind of person." He said with as much confidence as he could muster.

The only question left was where to take the man for a solid drink. Cal's eyes lit up with mischief as he slowly grinned. Perhaps he could have a good day yet. "How does the Blue Bull sound? It's a bit of a walk, but I promise, it's worth it. The entertainment is exquisite!"

Wayne looked over Calters for a moment, as he felt something was off with the way he carried himself. "Is something wrong? You seem... a little off." His voice was lower and he took a step back. The Svefra seemed to be concerned as his new companion was very clearly holding back.
A cool wind blew through the docks and Wayne shifted on his feet as he watched the Akvatari in front of him. His eyes piercing Calter's own as he waited for his reply.

At the stranger's words of concern, the lonely Akvatari blatantly frowned.
"Is something wrong? You seem... a little off."

A thousand thoughts splattered his mind and made it impossible to think clearly.
Wayne is an aurist. He knows how you feel. He knows you hate yourself. He thinks you're a freak of nature. You're disgusting and he knows it. That sailor would have you dead in a minute if he thought he could get away with it. He's going to turn you in as insane. They'll lock you up. You'll never see light again.

Calters had to resist the urge to clutch his head and yell at himself. So many times he had heard these same things from not only himself, but others as well. There were those that were afraid of such a rare creature. There were those that were in awe, yes, but also those who avoided him and openly despised him. After years growing up in this mindset, he knew that it was difficult to tell one type of person from another. He couldn't trust anyone when his mind ran like this, as it so often did.

Finally taking a deep breath, Calters tried to get Wayne to buy into his bluff.
"I, um...I'm fine. I just- busy day. Late night." After another breath, he was able to complete a logical sentence. "It's nothing a little beer can't fix, right?"

The man tried his best to force a smile, but it was hard to make around the war in his head.
"Let's just get going."

Wayne now was sure that the man had something that he was hiding, but the Svefra decided to drop it. The man was not the prying type and as such it did not bother him that this new fellow that he met has his secrets. Wayne smiled reassuringly to the Akvatari male and nodded.
"If it is a drink you require to straighten you out then i am more than happy to accompany you." Wayne tried to sound reassuring to his new acquaintance when he spoke but he was sure he just sounded stupid.
The Svefra man after all rarely spoke to anyone beside his friend Drefan and as such he rarely spoke because Drefan was a man of few words. As such Wayne was happy to have someone else to talk to, specially someone so unique. He was sure that this man had many things to speak of over a drink, seeing how exotic and beautiful a man he was.

Satisfied that he would not be questioned again, Calters lobbed himself clumsily into the air. He beat his wings a handful of times before realizing that Wayne would not be able to travel nearly as fast as he.

"I'm not sure how this is going to work." Calters mumbled to himself. Not a chime had passed before Cal had an idea. A dangerous, bad idea, but still an idea. A silent prayer was sent to Rhaus, asking for safety and protection. And please, whatever happens, don't let me drop my instrument. That is what I ask above all else.

The airborne man peered down at the grounded one and coughed nervously before voicing his opinion.

"This might not work for long but you're going to be slow compared to me and...How opposed would you be to being carried?"

Wayne had begun to follow the man when he beat his wings and lifted off of the ground. before long it was apperent the Svefra man was going to get outpaced when the Akvatari man turned around and spoke to him.
Wayne let out a small laugh when he was asked the strange question, but he began to consider it. "Well that depends, how safe is it for me to be carried?" Wayne was smiling when he spoke but it was a genuine concern. If it was unsafe then he would rather walk, even if it did sound exhilarating. His blue eyes watched the strangely beautiful creature as he waited for an answer.

Calters coughed once more to settle his nerves before answering the grounded man in a low, dispirited tone.
"I've done it before, but never for such a length as we would go. Admittedly, it wouldn't be the safest, but it isn't like I would drop you from a great height."

Calters demonstrated his flight by lowering himself to eye level and then zipping up about 2 feet above Wayne's head. Breifly, he considered the fact that the Svefra might be afraid of heights. A creature so used to the water may be wary of the skies. Cal knew he was an exception as a Child of the Sea and Sky, blessed with being equally at home above or below the land.

"I would only be this high!" He called down to the world below in his best reassuring tone. "And you would land on your feet anyway!"
Most likely...
