Day 71, Summer, 510 AV

If felt like Shadiss was constantly out getting supplies in order to conduct her poisonous affairs, but she didn’t mind too much, for at least she got some pleasure from it. It was the process that was soothing to her, for the end result was very much a result that was to be desired. Not that many would agree with it, especially if they were the intended target for a poison. For poisons came in many forms and so if they had wronged someone with poison skills they had better watch what they eat or even a blade dipped in poison. Something that Shadiss was very much going to invest in. A poisoned dagger was one to be feared, especially when the user knew how to use it. A sigh settled upon the woman’s lips as she lifted a hand to gently brush back her pure grey hair with the occasional streak of black. Today she had need of a specific herb, one that she wanted to experiment with. While it was true that she could go out and find the herb on her own, she was feeling rather lazy upon this day and she didn’t want to go through the extra trouble to find the plant, so she decided to simply buy it from The Seaside Market.

Her pale fingers gripped the strap of her back pack tightly as she made her way down the streets of Sunberth. It was a notorious city for being lawless, so the loss of a backpack wouldn’t mean that she could report it to the city. No, it would mean that she would never see it again and she would just have to poison every thief in order to just her revenge, seeing as they favour their hooded cloaks. However, that would be a costly revenge and it would probably kill off half the population. A simple smirk fell upon her lips at the thought as she brushed passed a woman carrying a basket of vegetable, indeed she wouldn’t care much for the loss of such lives, but that would probably mean that it would anger people just enough to go hunting after a poisoner and that was most definitely something she wanted to avoid. She did want to keep her head after all, which meant not angering the locals. Humans, they were just so odd in their behaviours, some of the things they did had no real purpose to it what-so-ever.

At that thought she reached the stall that she wanted the ones where it sold herbs and plants and her crimson gaze flickered over them briefly her gaze settling upon one herb. She lifted a hand to hand the stall keeper some money then and she quickly stowed the bought item into her back pack. The plant she had been after was Emvilvirute [1 ounce of milk & 3 ounces of dried leaves], and it could be used for a couple of different purposes, however, the main one that she wanted to use, was for her own purpose of furthering her knowledge about the plant and hopefully making it some-what more potent when mixed in with other herbs and ingredients. How she planned on doing that, she still had to work it out, but she hoped that they would be vomiting right up to their deathbed. However, she still had to work at her poisons before she could even begin to think about making her own type of poison.

OOCSorry that this took so long to get up for you, between java and this new illness that I have been battling, I haven't been able to much for anyone. I also haven't gone back over this, so if there are any errors I apologize greatly!

To Get Results, One Must Practice [Zane Underhill]

Petch! How could everyone run out of love dust at the same time?! What kind of shyke is this?

Desperately desiring a fix, Zane found himself wandering in the Seaside Market. He had heard that Dhani's always had the craziest things, and that there was one in particular that often frequented the market. Though she was known to keep to her own affairs and avoided drawing attention to herself, it had been noted that most of her purchases were herbs or toxins. But the exact effects of the goods were known only to her and the vendors from which she bought. The shadiness of the information didn't phase Zane, but caution and self up reservation were never really his natural instincts in the first place. And ever since he had been abandoned when Billie decided to leave Sunberth he had only fallen more into despair.

They were many people in the market today, so it seemed practically impossible for him to find the person that he was looking for. If he were lucky, she could have been slithering on the ground and made herself easier to spot. This was highly improbable, because it would most likely lead to someone accidentally stepping on her. Or it could have led to the entire market being abandoned. Neither was the case for luck nor the gods were on Zane's side. In fact, it seemed more like everything that was happening to Zane was because the gods did not approve of him. No family, no friends, no love dust. What else was a man supposed to do when the pleasures of life were prohibited?

Crack! Zane had been so intently focusing on looking around him, that he didn't bother to watch where he was going. As a result, he had walked into a man that had been walking in the opposite direction. The collision was a rough one, in that they had bumped heads and were both thrown to the ground. He had expected to be forced into a fight with the man, but instead he quickly got up and tried as hard as he could to blend back in with the crowd as if that fall did not occur. Zane checked his personal belongings to find that luckily nothing was stolen. The man's behavior had mimicked that of a thief, but apparently Zane was not his target. Such was the life in Sunberth. The threat of danger loomed at every turn...

After Zane picked himself up off the ground, he turned into the crowd and bumped into another person. However, this time was different from the first in that it was an inconvenience for both parties. And the person he bumped into was a woman. Nothing in particular seemed to indicate that she was a Dhani, but then again they were pretty convincing in their human forms. And Zane wasn't exactly the most knowledgeable person around. But it couldn't hurt to try. He struggled as best he could to speak in snake-tongue and generate a response from the woman.

The woman had turned to leave the stall when suddenly a man seemed to have bumped into her and a small hiss fell upon her soft lips and she spun around upon her heels so then her crimson gaze could fall upon the male that had bumped into her. As she viewed this male’s form, the simple jeans and the simple shirt. Even the wrist knives was totally simple enough for someone who lived in Sunberth. The only interesting features other than his short blonde hair was those green eyes of him and she would have been tempted to have made a move to stab him, had she not caught the words he spoke in snake tongue, however poor it was. ”Viper, what issss it that you want?” She questioned the male as she angled her head slightly to the right. Rarely was she sought out, mostly because of the fact that people did not know what she specialized in. They saw her here and they saw her there however as much as they whispered and speculated, no one really knew and she kind of liked it that way. It meant that she was left alone and those that did seek her out was after a specific poison.

She lifted her arms only to fold them over her chest and she lifted a brow, he didn’t seem to be someone that would just continuously run into people randomly asking if they knew snake tongue. No, he had to of had a reason to ask about whether she spoke snake tongue. ”I don’t have all day to jussst ssstand here, ssso out with it boy.” She snapped, she did have other things to do, like do and prepare the herb she had just bought to learn more about its properties. She may even go and nab a child off the street in order to learn more about it. Or she could swallow it herself, it was faster and it didn’t have the hassle of the parents breaking down her door.

OOCSorry that this is short, I’m lacking in inspiration at the moment.

For once, luck was on his side. The woman had responded in snake-tongue. But, due to his inexperience with the language he was only able to translate some of her words. From what he was able to decipher, she wanted to know what his reason for bothering her was. It seemed accurate enough for him to assume that it was correct.

All of the falling and bumping into people had taken a lot more energy from him than he expected. As a result, he found himself becoming mentally drained. Desperation and temptation had planted their ugly seeds in his soul. And now they had finally decided to sprout. Common sense had escaped him, otherwise he would have realized the high probability of the woman having the ability to speak common. After all, a Dhani in a civilized society, whether its Sunberth or not; would need to communicate with those unfamiliar with her native language. But instead, he remained in the bliss of ignorance.

"Preciousssssss...Injectionssssss"

The series of hisses that the boy tried to use were mostly unintelligible, and only two words were able to be properly communicated. But the possibility of miscommunication hadn't even occurred to Zane. He had no gumption to question the woman or to provide her with any other specifications. From his perspective, he had adequately explained his desire to inject himself with a drug, any drug; that would be able to get him to escape reality for a bit.

In truth, Zane didn't fully expect the woman to give him something that would be even remotely as good as love dust. There was absolutely nothing in comparison to the high that it gave him. All other drugs that he had experienced paled in comparison. Love Dust had set the golden standard that nothing in current circulation could possibly reach.

Each passing tick was met with a clatter of his teeth. It was a sign of more symptoms to come. It began with his teeth, the simple physical indicator of addiction. But soon, he would lose his grip on reality and his mind would be thrust back into the night of his failure. He would be momentarily paralyzed and forced to relive that moment until he eventually came to. But by then, he would have exhibited even more symptoms. His only viable choice, was the product of the Dhani that stood before him. Hopefully it would do him justice.

Her crimson gaze watched as the male seemed to put things together inside of his mind, however, she was beginning to think that he was a little slow, or perhaps it was because he spoke very bad snake-tongue? This realization made the woman roll her eyes towards the sky, why did he bother chasing her down and try to speak snake-tongue when they could probably just use the common tongue. She had been using it for quite some time now, especially seeing as she had been living in Sunberth and she was sorely tempted to use her dagger upon him. Finally he spoke about precious injections and she lifted her arms to simply cross over her chest as she tried to puzzle these two words out. If he had gone through this much trouble to track her down, the least she could think of, was that there was probably some mizas involved, mizas that would line her purse for future herbs and better equipment. However, this Dhani did not normally do anything with injections, which caused a slight problem to the situation which had fallen into her lap. How could she grasp and take advantage of the situation that just landed into her lap?

Her methods did not involve injections, it was just a simple fact. However, she did begin to wonder as to what kind of things this boy had been into that warranted injections. The next question would also be, how long had he been on it? She knew that some things could be addictive, but in all her years of living, she hadn’t come across some one that had become addictive. Although, she couldn’t say that she knew from the top of her head which herbs were addictive. The woman then realized that perhaps she could lure him to her room, make him believe that she had something addictive to give him and instead, give him something which would make him regret ever meeting her. While that wasn’t very nice, she wasn’t a generally nice person and so when someone sought her out, they sought her out at their own peril. It was then that she began to notice the clatter of his teeth and a smirk fell upon her lips. Oh he was addicted to some kind of drug alright and he was beginning to experience withdrawals.

Finally she indicated her head in the direction of the Sunset Quarters and she spoke making sure to address him in common, for his snake-tongue was very poor. She would have questioned the reason as to why he didn’t just speak to her in common, but seeing as he was going through withdrawals, he was more than likely, not thinking straight. ”Come, I have ssssomething for you.” While her words were few and in between, she knew that she had spoken the right amount of words that was needed to get her message across to the junkie before her. Turning she would begin to walk through the crowd back to the Quarters, knowing that the male would follow her in hopes that she had what he needed. A glint of mischief would appear within her crimson gaze as the smirk upon her lips widened just a fraction Oh she had something for the male alright, but it wasn’t a drug that would give him a pleasant high.
