Fang training I

14th of summer

Weapon training with his fang was the worst. Only one person used the same weapon as him and unfortunally. That was the fang's resident bullies hangeron. Every time the fang split up to let the younger ones learn from the older's weapon skill he would end up having to spar with her while Nimla just looked on. Most of the time it ended up with the older laughing while the younger woman humilitated him with her better axe skills. She didn't even bother to pretent she was training him. The rest of the fang only saw him as the newcomer. A deyhan newcomer at that so they didn't lift a finger to help him.

He scowled at he faced Izta as he gripped his awe and shield. He hadn't managed to win a fight against her yet. She was strong and a lot better with her large axe then he was. He only knew that he was tougher and more enduring then her. But when she was swinging around a large waraxe that wasn't really an advantage he could use. Being able to fight for a long time didn't matter when she beat you into a pulp after a few minutes of combat anyway.

“Right. Izta, deyhan.” Nimla said with a smirk on her face. “Get to it. Like usual first one to be beaten into the ground loses.” Izta let out a warcry and charged at him. Swinging her waraxe at him in a wide swing. Larsel barely had the time to brace himself against the ground and block the weapon with his shield. The weapon drew a gouge into the wooden shield. With a feral smile Izta pulled back her weapon and struck again. Because she wanted to be fast, her swing was sloppy enough for Larsel to duck to the side, sparing his shield from another hard hit. He countered with a sloppy strike of his own. One that Izta easily slapped to the side with the haft of her own weapon.

“Come on little shorthair. You have to be able to do better then that.” She mocked him as she struck again a powerfull blow. Putting everything she had behind it. Thankfully because it was such a powerfull blow it was an obvious one and once again Larsel managed to get out of the way. This time Izta quickly got back in a defensive stance. Larsel gritted his teeth in irritation. Going up against a stronger and more skilled opponent. How could he get the upper hand in this fight? He barely blocked the girls next attack. He could feel the shock of the blow vibrate through his entire body and he heard his shield chip.

“Say that again after you manage to hit me.” Larsel shot back. Jumping back to avoid another sloppy strike. Swinging at her overstretched weapon as quickly as he could. He managed to hit her weapon with his own. But aside from a bit of wobbling Izta managed to keep her grip on the weapon and just pressed on. Keeping the pressure on him with wide and hard blows.

He barely managed to keep up his shield for a few moments during the assault before she smacked it out of his grip. “Looks like you don't have your shield anymore to hide behind. Little deyhan.” She said with a feral grin. Larsel just grabbed his axe with both his hands and charged at the woman. This was going to be over pretty soon. No need to embarras himself.

Izta didn't have a shield to hide behind. But she didn't need to, his clumsy strikes were easily avoided or smacked away with her own weapon. That infuriating grin still on her face she didn't bother to attack. “Come on shorthair. Put some effort in it.” she laughed

“If you do the same with your insults I'll think about it.” He shot back. Larsel couldn't help but smile as the mocking laugh vanished. The girl getting red with anger. She let out an angry warcry and charged him. Maybe mocking the girl right in front of the person she looked up to wasn't a good idea. It really pissed her off. She swung at him, her anger blinding her, making her swings large and obvious. But they were fast swings and just because Larsel could see them didn't mean he could dodge them. He barely managed to dodge away from the first blow. She planted her feet and reversed her blow. Still unbalanced from his last dodge larsel didn't manage to dodge out of the way soon enough this time. The blunted axe clipped his armored shoulder and he was sent sprawling to the ground.

“Suddenly you don't have a big mouth anymore.” She gloated as she got closer. Raising her axe for the final blow. Larsel barely managed to roll out of the way. He heard nimla laugh at him. “Stop crawling around on the ground you deyhan!” Izta snarled. Larsel tried to climb back to his feet. Just to catch Izta's axe in the chest.

He groaned in pain and before he could react Izta was on him. Pushing him to the ground and trying to choke him with the shaft of her axe. Larsel grabbed on to the shaft and tried to push it off his neck. Trying to get air. But the dirty bitch was stronger and she was on top of him. Using her weight to drive the handle of her weapon harder against his troath.

Larsel pulled his legs back and shoved his feet against izta's stomach, with a grunt of force he kicked her as hard as he could. Sending her sailing through the air. He gasped for air as he grasped around for his own axe. Getting back on his feet as fast as he could to be ready for the girls next assault. Which didn't take long to come. He barely managed to get upright and she was already on him. Screaming like a tiger and swinging her axe with everything she had. Larsel ducked underneath her first swing and tackled her. Hoping to get her down on the ground.

He smashed into her and they tumbled to the ground, both of them keeping a firm hold of their weapons. Izta smashing the but of her axe in his side. Larsel responded with a headbut right in her face. A satified grin on his face as he felt something give and heard izta swear. He pinned Izta to the ground, who just snarled in anger and grabbed his arm with both her hands, twisting it and he grunted in pain. He pulled back his fist and just as he was about to smash it into Izta's face Nimla grabbed his hand and roughly pulled him off her.

“Alright you two. Get of each other and stop wrestling like a pair of overeager children. This is weapon training. Not brawling.” Larsel scowled as he pulled his hand out of nimla's grip and walked a few paces away from Izta, keeping a keen eye on both of them. So when he was the one beating almost beating the shit out of izta she stepped in. But when she was almost choking him to death Nimla just looked the other way. He snorted and picked up his shield from where it had been and readied himself again. Izta had done the same.

Nimla just finished saying some things to Izta with a soft enough voice that larsel couldn't hear anything, before she took a few steps back.

“Right, deyhan. Izta get at it again. No brawling this time. Weapon training only!”

Fang training I

Before Nimla could finish her sentence Larsel was already moving towards his oponent. Shield at the ready and pulling back his axe for a hard blow. Hoping to get the first strike in. Izta had been thinking the same thing. She however, had a longer reach and she was able to swing first. Larsel dove behind his shield. Grunting as the blow on his shield shook his arm. This was already going down the same way as in the last fight. Him being battered into submission. ! He tried closing the distance, but the wide swings of Izta's axe he could only barely block with his shield quickly convinced him that was a bad idea and he took a step back. Trying to get away from her blows. But Izta wasn't planning on letting him get away and kept right on his heels. Smashing into his shield with everything she had. Not bothering to try and get around the shield. She just smashed into it and hoped he would lose his grip on his shield.

He supposed he should thank myri that Izta wasn't used to fighting people with a shield. But he wasn't going to bank on her not figuring out a way or two on how to get past his shield. Or just beat it out of his hands again. Izta had enough strength in her arms for that.

Larsel tried to strike back at izta. But she just kept up her barrage of blows. Not leaving an opening for him to strike. So he just buckled down, grabbed his shield hard and just tried to weather the blows as good as he could. She had to get tired and slow down eventually and then he would strike.

“Izta! don’t swing wildly when it’s useless. Get around that shield. Circle him. Don’t tire yourself out needlesly.” Nimla shouted at her hangeron. “Look for openings and then attack. Or attack to create an opening. Don’t just bash through him.” Figured that as soon as he found a potential way to win she would favor her little minion and warn her. The hail of blows stopped as Izta heeded her idol’s advice and slowed down, watching him like a hungry tiger as she started circling him.

Larsel turned in place. Always facing his opponent, gritting his teeth. His plan had failed. Just waiting for an opening wouldn’t be enough now. Just like Nimla said, he had to force an opening. Something he couldn’t do just by defending. He needed a distraction, so he threw his wooden shield at her and charged at her with a loud battle cry. Gripping his axe with both of his hand and put all his force behind the swing. Izta was definitely surprised by the thrown shield. She pulled up her arms to protect her torso. The shield hitting her hard on the forearms. His followup swing however came too late. Izta managed to block the clumsy but powerful strike just in time and savagly counterattacked. smashing his axe out of the way and ramming the blunt end of her axe in his stomach. Following that swing up with a fist to his face and larsel fell to the ground. Groaning in pain.

“And you’re on the ground again.” Izta mocked before swinging her practice axe downwards. Finishing him off with a vicious axe-blow to the stomach. Something that nimla couldn’t help but laugh about.

“Seems like we got the winner of this little fight!” She said in glee. “Well done Izta! You’re getting better” Izta smiled brightly at the praise. Larsel just grunted and rubbed his stomach. Even though it was just a practice weapon. He still felt that blow through his leather armor. He pushed himself back on his feet. Ignoring the throbbing pain as he picked up his shield and weapon again.

Both of them ignored the deyhan as Nimla gave advice to her hanger on. Larsel saw Inka, Siku’s right hand woman, come closer. “It’s time to switch up the group training.I’m supposed to work with you two while the deyhan should go to Chac, kisin and muluc..” She bluntly stated. Much to the annoyance of Nimla. Larsel quickly got the hell out of there. He didn’t know why Siku had put Nimla and Inka together, but that always ended badly for everybody around. He didn’t want to be in the danger zone when they went at each other like angry tigers.

Comments :
This was a good start Larsel to a military job thread. I wanted to note that in your 3rd post you magically got your shield back. So make sure to write picking things up and rearming yourself in the future, as one does not simply get things back. That may be seen as 'cheating' in a sense. Also, I gifted you as much as I could, but keep in mind that adding detail is important. How did he hold the axe? Was it heavy and awkward? Maybe slicing in certain directions was difficult because he hasn't built the muscle tone yet. Is it different then a normal axe since these were describe as practice axes? Things like that. The more thoughts and detail, the more experience you'll get. And down the road, you'll have to be more detailed to get experience in better levels of skill.
