The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Temple of the Sun

The Temple of the Sun is a sanctum built at the time as Lhavit. Located on the Tenten Peak to the east, it is situated on the third tier, facing the eastern horizon, and is the first building to be greeted by Syna's comforting rays.

The colour of the temple shimmers under the influence of the skies, and is most prominent during the day, when it glows a magnificent golden-citrine hue. Carvings on the temple depict Syna dancing on clouds in a circular pattern, her beautiful flaming hair wrapped about her. A row of columns lead toward the temple to mark the entrance, and a man-made pond is settled beside it, filled with an array of golden fish that are well taken care of.

ImageUpon entering the temple, one would come to realize that there is nothing in the immediate vicinity but a large altar with a fire burning brightly in a large, tapered bowl. Women garbed in flowing robes of orange and yellow are constantly nursing the fire, one that has been going strong for more than 400 years. They are the Taiyang, or the Sun Maidens, women marked by Syna and chosen at young ages to become the lifelong guardians of the sacred fire of Syna. The fire, to Lhavitians, symbolize the heat and strength the Goddess brings with each passing day, and if the fire should die out, they foresee an ill omen and the Taiyang suffer dire consequences.

Visitors are allowed to stand 200 feet from the burning altar, but are forbidden to step any closer. Should anyone be caught crossing the boundaries, they will be strictly dealt with, to the point of being thrown out of the city; sometimes literally. The Sun Guards, composed of men marked by Syna, patrol the temple to ensure that this rule is adhered to.

Adalia Elidi
ImageName: Adalia Elidi
Race: Inarta
Birthdate: 492 AV
Birthplace: Wind Reach
Occupation: Priestess of Syna and head of the Taiyang at the Sun Temple
Gnosis: 3 marks of Syna (Inavalti level 3)
Skills: Astronomy - 15, Dance - 48, Gardening - 30, Glassblowing - 55
Languages: Common (Fluent), Nari (Fluent)

Adalia is a lovely young woman with red-blonde hair cascading down over her shoulders, and soft blue eyes. Freckles scatter her sunkissed skin, and the mark of her Goddess encircles her left eye, a sun with three rays extending outwards from the center.

The priestess is a warm, welcoming presence. She always has a gentle smile on her face, and she speaks quietly, but with an inner strength. When not tending to the Sacred Flame or the temple itself, Adalia may be found outside caring for the fish or flowers, or speaking with visitors to the temple.

Born and raised in Wind Reach, Adalia grew up worshiping Syna more than any other deity. She felt from a very young age that she was destined to serve the Goddess, and wished to prove her devotion to Syna; she was first marked at the tender age of 13.

Unsatisfied with her life in Wind Reach, where she worked as a glassblower, Adalia still felt as if she was destined for more, and knew she could not reach her full potential if she remained. She left for Lhavit at the age of 17, where she found the Taiyang. She wasted no time in joining their ranks, and has been with the temple ever since.

Zia

Race: Human
Birthdate: 490 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Taiyang at the Sun Temple
Gnosis: 1 mark of Syna (Inavalti level 1)
Skills: Astronomy - 45, Auristics - 30, Dance - 60, Reimancy (Fire, air) - 48, Socialization - 80
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Tall, with warm skin and long black hair most often kept in a braid, Zia is actually one of the more recent members of the Taiyang.

Zia and her twin sister, Lua, were both born in Lhavit. Their mother was a member of the Constellations, and their father was a Shinya guard; they have been deeply immersed in Lhavit's culture since a young age, and both grew up devout in their worship for both Syna and Leth.

The two are deeply close and do just about everything together; after their parents died, they only grew closer, relying on each other for support. However, the two are very much opposites.

Zia is bold, charming, and extroverted. She loves people and attention, and has no issues making friends wherever she goes. She is playful and fun-loving, and when not at the temple, enjoys spending time at the bars across the city.

In processing her grief over losing her parents, Zia found herself focusing her worship on Syna, eventually joining the ranks of the Taiyang.
