The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Located in the vicinity of the Surya Plaza, the Shooting Star Inn is a grand building carved with rounded pillars and hung with ornamentation resembling stars. The entrance is beneath a modest gazebo and is signified by a white door with a sign spelling out: "The Shooting Star."

Upon entering, the first thing a visitor would notice is the array of white, velvet covered tables with a set of finely crafted chairs topped with white velvet pillows. Utensils are already laid out, and the center is usually topped with a small bowl filled with water for cleaning. A bar lines the left wall, several stools tucked beneath it. The shade of the walls are a rich golden hue, with potted plants located on each corner, and a dozen scenes depicting an assortment of constellations on the walls. A wide window set with glass is on the opposite corner, with a long table covered in a variety of plates and dishes piled with fruits, vegetables, and appetizers.

ImageOn the left hand side of this room is a set of stairs for those requiring lodging. There are three regular rooms, six elegant rooms, and six suites, all furnished with a small white velvet plush couch, low-lying beds, a chest, a table and chairs, and a small hearth. Regular rooms are simply basic rooms with the listed furniture, while elegant rooms have a separate bathing area with a large tub. The suites contain the bedroom, bathing area, and a separate sitting area, as well as usually coming with extra pampering materials such as a complimentary bottle of fine wine, flowers, and a menu for ordering in bed.

The owner, Terence Khesha, is the son of a once famous Shinya in Lhavit who recently passed away. He takes pride in the Inn and will not tolerate those who do not show proper respect and mannerisms to the staff and the other patrons.

Mara is the daughter of 2nd generation emigrants from Wind Reach. She grew up in a fairly cushy life with her twin brother, Raeyn, and became something of a really prolific social butterfly. Beautiful, vivacious, and headstrong, she excels in social situations and is always the centre of attention. She's also really quite flirtatious, a quality that has gained her quite the reputation; for better, or for worse. Mara, when working, will greet customers and offer them a drink, and see if they need to rent a room.

Aleth
ImageName: Aleth
Race: Kelvic (Donkey)
Birthdate: 510 AV
Birthplace: Sunberth
Occupation: Cleaner at the Shooting Star Inn
Skills: Cleaning - 50, Organization - 45, Stealth - 26, Torture - 30, Unarmed Combat - 55, Weapon (Club) - 45
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Aleth is a lanky, gangly kind of man. There are several signs of malnourishment on his body; a few minor scabs from persistent rashes, and one arm is weak at the elbow. His hair is blondish-grey, and his eyes are a deep, warm brown. When in his Kelvic form of a donkey, he has large ears that are typical of his race, and his gait is a little slowed due to the poor joint issue.

Aleth was born in Sunberth. His mother soon learned he was Kelvic, and promptly sold the poor lad to a local lout named Ronen who had recently come into some mizas. He grew up a slave, but his Sunberthian background gave him a hidden strength, even amongst the hardships of slavery. His master was not kind, but he was fairly clever. His cleverness, however, did not extend to mizas. Mostly, he fought and won, living life through bullying to get his way, and Aleth was dragged along in his master’s wake. Ronen made him his right-hand man. Aleth was forced to hurt others he never intended or wanted to, otherwise he would be beaten harshly.

Eventually, Ronen ran afoul of a bigger lout than he, and he scraped enough mizas together to leave Sunberth. Through a series of wild, skin-of-the-teeth adventures, he heard of a woman in Lhavit, an ex-lover, who had come into some wealth. With the tantalizing thought of gleaming mizas, Ronen took the long and arduous journey north, with Aleth in tow. However, Ronen was getting older and more stupid. He trusted Aleth, his trusty Kelvic, and over the long boat ride had got used to forgetting about him as there was no need to keep an eye on him when in the middle of the ocean. Yet as soon as Aleth got a moment alone, he took his chance, and finally escaped from Ronen.

He now lives in Lhavit, tenuously making a living as a cleaner. He is a quiet man, twitchy, and tries to keep himself to himself. However, once befriended, he is happy to talk about some aspects of his life, including even some of the dark deeds he was asked to do when he was a slave. He’ll never be happy to share this information, though.

The Shooting Star Inn was originally his mother's business, left to Terence upon her death. Terence is a fierce warrior, and often spends time patrolling the city unofficially with the Shinya. He is often away from the inn on 'business', which he never elaborates on, leaving the Inn to be run by his capable staff. Some years ago, his radiant young wife passed away. Since then, Terence has been spending less time with his mother's business and more time prowling the city.

In person he is civil but quite fierce, disinterested in anything more than business affairs. He has no time for frivolity, and has completely detached himself from the opposite sex. It's rumoured he wishes for death on his frequent outings, so that ownership of the Inn will transfer to his younger brother.
