The Citadel of the Dead Queen, Black Rock is the island off of the eastern coast of Falyndar. Mythic and mysterious, few know what truly inhabits it. [Lore]

Epitaph Ink

Much like the epitaphs written among the vast collection of tombstones that mark the final resting place of previous Black Rock denizens, tattoos are also a common way for the living to commemorate lost loved ones and celebrate death itself. It's only to be expected that an island renown for coexistence between the living and the dead, would have a thriving business like the Epitaph Ink. The small building sits midway up the crag upon one of the many paths that leads up to Black Rock's Peak, its exterior seeming almost decrepit with its dull and unkempt appearance. A single sign painted with red lettering hung over the door signals that it is, however, indeed open.

Although the premises seems a bit run down, it is not quite as old as it looks. Drek left Taloba to enter Black Rock only a few decades ago in search of Dira's guidance. Instead a tragic occurrence during the crossing left him unable (and perhaps unwilling) to return to Falyndar. Since then he's taken it upon himself to continue his clan's trade.

Drek of the Slitted Throat
Race: Myrian
Position: Tattoo Artist
Skills: Tattooing-89; Calligraphy-56; Drawing-27
Gnosis: 1 Prowess
Other: Being a member of the Slitted Throat, Drek takes great pride in his work. Like some of his clan he's been practicing the art of tattooing for some time and has gotten quite good at it. From scarring to inking, he's a well rounded artist and creative designer. Despite being bilingual in Myrian and Common, Drek tends to be a quiet and sullen man. However, he does have some hidden charm considering Malia still lingers to this day where ever he might be. When he's not working, it's common to find him attempting to aid a very unwilling Malia in moving on.

Malia
Race: Ghost, Svefra
Position: None
Skills: [i]Skills: Materialization-74; Soulmist Projection-41
Gnosis:None
Other: Malia's story is quite a tragic one. The blonde Svefra woman had always been a creature of both grace and beauty. Being such a rebel without a cause and having a nose for trouble, it was only a matter of time before she'd leave Anchorage for some sort of adventure. She hitched a ride with a few other seafarers to sail about the western Suvan. Eventually the ship docked at Falyndar's coast where she met Drek. They became close not long after their meeting, especially when it came time for him to take the very same vessel to Black Rock. Even with her charm and attractive features, Malia could never swoon the stoic Myrian into an intimate relationship. Sadly, she never would. Sometime during a fearsome storm, Malia was crushed by a fallen mast. Like many spirits eventually seem to do, Malia followed the beacon to Black Rock and reunited with Drek. Though not always visible, her spirit is rarely away from her love interest. And it's been noted on several occasions she's quite possessive of him...

Tattoo Rates
All Tattoos are simply black and white, though the shading and intricacy Drek can pull forward should not be considered simply 'simple.'

He charges 3 Ashls a bell, but will give discounts if one is looking for a supremely intricate tattoo.
