Pale, tall, and lanky, Lucian does not nearly resemble his Kelvic form - a large common raven. As a human, his hair is a light blonde closely resembling white, and is shoddily kept short and out of his face. His eyes are dark blue and slightly too large for his face with unnaturally large pupils, and he has a slightly beakish nose, the only slight references to his animal side. While he is not entirely androgynous, his appearance isn't as masculine as he'd like.

Intelligent, playful, and clever, the very basic pieces of Lucian's personality closely matches that of a raven's. He is curious but reserved, preferring to get a sense of someone before truly speaking out. While he enjoys being around people, he prefers to not be the center of attention for too long, finding it rather draining. What he finds interesting varies between his moods, and he has yet to truly stick to a trade or skill due to his quickly changing tastes. He enjoys figuring people out like puzzles and solving problems as efficiently as possible. He is bonded to Shai Nerium.

 

The History

Lucian was born in Sunberth to a poor Kelvic woman whose animal form he is unable to remember and a drunken human, her bondmate, for a father. His mother had managed to give birth to 7 children, of which only 3 survived - one of them being Lucian, the only Kelvic child born in his family. His mother, on the realization that he was Kelvic, sold him to a relatively wealthy man for a relatively cheap price in order to care for her other two children. Lucian struggles with the process of letting go of the grudge he's held against his mother for so long.

The man he had been sold to treated him well, and had some knowledge of Kelvics from a previous bondmate who had since passed. He treated Lucian more like a child than a slave, keeping him in good health to the best of his abilities and using him for companionship. Lucian grew up fairly sheltered, rarely leaving the house except for flight or when accompanied, though even this wasn't enough to keep him from the coarse nature of Sunberth. The man refused to bond to the young kelvic despite his protests, hoping for the naturally curious and inquisitive raven to mature and develop a personality before bonding.

Unfortunately, the man passed away as Lucian neared maturity, leaving him free and confused. While he had never had an actual Kelvic bond with the man, the loss still left gaping hole in his heart and the raven lost what purpose he had, unable to figure out what he was supposed to do next. He drifted from trade to trade, picking up various skills but never sticking to anything. Growing up in the harsh reality that Sunberth offered, however, helped Lucian to rebound, regaining what little drive he had before. He now makes his way as a simple, and rather poor, pickpocket, having adapted to the streets quickly enough to survive.
