The Inevitable Bathing of a Street Urchin [Jokor and Keres]

Postby Keres on October 21st, 2010, 10:14 pm

41st of Fall 510

The night had gone well despite the oddity and the cramped feeling of it all. Keres had slept in his bedroll up against the furthest corner of their room trying hard to ignore the smell of Jokor sleeping on the extreme other end of the room, which was not actually very far at all. Had he slept facing the wall, the smell may have been diminished, but Keres was still a bit on edge. It wasn;t that he didn't trust Jokor, it simply something about the oddity of how Jokor and Verduth behaved that kept Keres from relaxing completely.

In the morning, Keres insisted that they go to the market and purchase Jokor some fresh clothing if not new clothing. With Jokor's guidance they had found the market while Verduth's sociability picked the items and negotiated the purchase and Keres' coins funded the ordeal. After all was said and done, Keres was fifteen gold and two silver down having made a few other purchases as well.

Shopping List :
5 throwing knives – 5 gm
juggling balls – 8 gm
A new pair of clothes,Cloak 3sm, shirt 1sm ,boots 5sm,Pants 1sm,gloves 5sm, = 15 silver
Mask (black leather) – 3 silver
backpack – 2 silver
Bedroll – 1 silver
Eating knive – 1 silver

Total = 152 silver

On the way back from the market, verduth had been distracted and went about his roaming. Keres didn't bother worrying about him, as he had shown himself to have a fool's luck. Now, back in the room with Jokor, Keres closed the door on the two of them and dropped the backpack with the day's purchase on the floor before approaching very close to Jokor. Keres made a little show of sniffing the air, then exaggeratedly held his nose.

“You smell bader than dead dog.” he paused, then went back and reopened the door. He raised his hand and pointed down the small hallway. “Bath!”

Jokor entered the room after Keres, happy to be back in the room. He vaguely head Keres close the door behind him and drop his backpack,Not really caring about it he dropped on the bed ,still quite atonished about the softness of it. He heard Keres open the door again.

“You smell bader than dead dog.” Keres said and Jokor rolled on his back to face him, seeing him point down the hallway. "Bath!" A look of confusion spread over his face. "Keres,I don't stink." Jokor said slowly so that Keres would be able to understand him. "What is a bath anyway?"

The Inevitable Bathing of a Street Urchin [Jokor and Keres]

Postby Keres on October 23rd, 2010, 3:48 pm

Comprehension suddenly hit Keres, this Jokor was lucky to be able to speak because he was almost exactly an animal. Well, there were a few exceptions in his personality, but all of his general traits were there. With this realization, Keres could feel his instincts begin to trust Jokor a little more, after all, it was the thinking of non-animals that was untrustworthy.

“Ah. Not know both. I show you,” Keres said said while gesturing down the hall again without the emphasis on forcefulness this time.

“Ah. Not know both. I show you,”Keres said said while gesturing down the hall again but this time it didn't really looked like a command, but more like a freindly suggestion.
Jokor sat up on the bed looking a bit confused about wat Keres wanted to do outside, but it couldn't hurt following him, If he wanted to do something to him he would already done it he while he was sleeping or something.
Jokor got of the bed and walked towards Keres. "So where do you want me to go?"

The Inevitable Bathing of a Street Urchin [Jokor and Keres]

Postby Keres on October 23rd, 2010, 4:14 pm

Keres led Jokor down the hall and eventually out the front of the building. Once outside, Keres lead the way to one of the nearer alleys where he had noticed a barrel that was holing runoff water from one of the roofs. He stopped at the barrel and looked in at the water again to make sure that it was clean before looking back at Jokor.

While trying to ensure that he looked friendly enough and had no ill intentions, which he did not, Keres spoke to Jokor, “Off cloths. Get in.”

Jokor cautiusly followed Keres through the alley, He looked at Keres, having a bad feeling when he suddenly stopped. Before Jokor could even ask why he had stopped here and why he was looking in the barrel. Keres turned around and looked at him a friendly expression. “Off cloths. Get in.” Jokor looked at Keres with a dumbstruck expression. Before getting out of his clothes,if he didn't Keres would probably do it for him. He shivered in the cold air and walked towards the barrel climbing on the edge, He carefully dipped a toe in the water and pulled it back immediatly after feeling how cold it was. He turned his head towards Keres. "You really don't expect me to go into that do you?" He gave Keres a pleading glance. "Its icec..." Jokor was cut of from his sentence when he lost his footing and fell into the barrel, splashing the water in all directions. Jokor came back up from the water yelling a few words he picked up form hanging around in the docks.

The Inevitable Bathing of a Street Urchin [Jokor and Keres]

Postby Keres on October 23rd, 2010, 6:01 pm

Keres watched as Jokor slowly removed his clothing. He had expected it when Jokor began to refuse to enter the barrel, but the stare of a passer by distracted him. Keres glared angrily back at the man, who took it upon himself that this was none of his business. Before Keres could redirect his attention back to Jokor, Jokor had fallen clumsily into the water.

It was cold. A bit of the water had splashed onto his sleeve and he could feel his arm want to shiver in response. He could only imagine what it must feel like for Jokor, who had now successfully rinsed the dirt away with his clumsiness.

“Now rub,” Keres said firmly, the need for the friendly posturing having ended. It was as he said this that a slight flaw appeared in his plan. He had brought no towel and was certainly not going to let Jokor put those filthy cloths back on.

Keres watched as Jokor rubbed himself down, or is that just shivering? No matter, the job is being done either way.

"Now rub." Jokor heard Keres say. Jokor quickly began rubbing himself, and tried to get his teeth to stop chatering, and failing miserably at that. As soon as Jokor couldn't take the cold water anymore he climbed out of the barrel and ran towards his clothes eager to get something warm around him.

The Inevitable Bathing of a Street Urchin [Jokor and Keres]

Postby Keres on October 23rd, 2010, 7:49 pm

Having guessed what would happen, Keres had Jokor's cloths in hand by the time Jokor got out of the barrel. Once Jokor reached out for them, Keres dunked the wad of them in the now brown water. The shock of it seemed too much for Jokor, as he simply stood there staring while shivering away.

Keres pulled the wad out of the water and held it away from himself while leading the naked malnourished Jokor back up to the room, dripping all the way. Once in, Keres threw down the wad of wet cloths in a corner and began digging through the backpack on the floor handing Jokor each article of his new clothing as he did so.

Jokor's brain just stopped working when he saw Keres dump the wad in the icecold water he just escaped, He was so astounded by it he just stared at it while Keres pulled the rags out and led him back towards the room.

When they arived at their chamber Keres threw the wad of clothes in a corner and began rumaging through the new backpack reaching him his new clothes as he found them. Jokor looked a bit confused at the new brown pants he had in his hands before his undercooled brain realized it was probably best if he started to put it on. So Jokor began to struggle to put his clothes on with numbed limbs before Keres threw the next one his way.
