Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

47th Day of Fall, 514AV

The early Fall light of Syna beat down upon the ground, and it had started to slowly heat the earth beneath the grey ocelot's feet. Her claws retracted and extended in unison with her heart beat, skipping one each time for a relaxed, slow pace. She could feel the grains of earth, mixed with granules of sand, falling between her extremities, scratching at minor itches that were caused by the movement itself. Pit was aggravating and soothing at the same time, and Kalina relished it.

The blue-green hues of the water were illuminated by white and yellow as Syna's light danced upon the water surface. It was mesmerising and made the water look particularly inviting to the medium sized feline. A novice at swimming, Kalina had still not supposed her fear of large bodies of water and, whilst she didn't think that danger could come from she knew that it was easy to go further out, as she had many times in boats. She liked land, and she loved trees. Water was a far third, but it looked so very tempting.

Tentatively, the ocelot kitten stepped forward, inching step by step. A low purr reverberated in the back of her throat, close to a growl... as if warning the water to behave itself as she tested the tepid waters. The water shimmered and glowed, tempting her forward, despite the slow shift towards the colder months, the waters looked warm and inviting. After a tick of hesitation she dipped her paw lightly into the water, no more than an inch or so deep. Her fur instantly flew, as if gravity no longer had a grasp on her being, but she knew that it would cling annoyingly to her if she raised her foot out of the water.

Her second front paw also crept forward into the cool water, switch washed around her joints. The purr grew louder, and the ocelot's pupils dilated further, as if experiencing some form of pleasure from stepping into the water. Her claws continued to extend and retract, and some of the earth that had previously been stuck got washed away, before being replaced by clumps of wet mulch. And she stood, unmoving, watching the water wash about her front paws and legs.
