Timestamp: 55th of Fall, 514 AV
Shane was still enjoying visiting the sights of Riverfall. He'd been about quite a bit already but he found the more places he saw, the more places he heard about which kept him as busy as he liked. Today he was going to the Zhongjie Warrens which he had heard was a bazaar of some kind. He had laden his pockets with gold and set out a little after mid day. The sun was in it's usual place high above the city and the people were being nice as usal. Paradise.
When he arrived at the Zhongjie Warrens, however, something else caught his eyes. A crowd had formed across the way a little in front of a building. Shane made his way over curious to see what was going on. He had to kind of slip through some Akalak to get near enough to the front of the crowd to see what was happening.
What he saw was what seemed like two opposing crowds kind of formed in a semi-circle around two men. A dark blue akalak and another Akalak that looked very strange. Shane had never seen an Akalak like that before. The greatest, and perhaps most odd, thing about the other Akalak was that she was a woman. Shane hadn't seen a female Akalak in the entire five days he'd been here. He'd assumed that the Akalak perhaps were overprotective of their woman and kept them squirelled away in their homes or even that Akalak woman didn't even exist. After all most Akalak he had seen with female companionship had been interracial.
It seemed the man was trying to force his way inside the building ad he'd brought a couple of his buddies too. The female akalak, however, was standing firm in whatever guardianship it was she had over the building and looked just about ready to take on as many people as it took. Although some were armed, including the woman, nobody had drawn weapons so Shane guessed this one wasn't going to be a fight to the death. The male and female were circling each other now. They were crouched down into fighting stances too waiting for any opening in one another's stance. Then the female tripped and the male charged. Of course he charged much too zealously and ended up falling into an Akalak who had merely been observing the fight. At that, an akalak who'd been standing next to the tackled one counter tackled the tacklee and all Rhysol broke loose. Regardless of stance or race people just started hitting each other.
Shane narrowly ducked out of the way of a kick that wasn't even meant for him. At least he didn't think it was. Shane didn't know what to do. Half of him wanted to run and half of him wanted to fight. What was the point of this fight? He didn't know but- he had to step out of the way of two akalak who were rolling around the ground. Then he spotted something on the floor. It was a plank of wood. Ha! An advantage over these superhuman brute. He started forward but tripped over somebody's sprawled out body and fell face first in the dirt. Aside from being stunned for a moment he was fine though and proceeded toward his weapon of choice on his hands and knees. He made it over alright and stood with his new weapon He raised it above his head and cried in defiance. A blue fist struck him straight in the face. The world went dark.
