[Stormhold Salves] The Dark Side [Solo]

Had they noticed? Ash'eny had no idea, but he had circled the area roughly three times in the past two hours. It was late at night, dark, moon was mostly hidden by clouds, at least that was in his favor. It was as if even Leth was encouraging Ash'eny to do this, this thing he knew was wrong but he wanted to do so badly. Stormhold Salves, he had never been in there, had no idea what of value could be found there, if anything at all could, but it was as good a place as any. It had windows which he could see through, bottles of various substances, all unknown to him, lining the shelves. Merely from his subtle observations he figured that a simple break-in, snatch, and depart would be simple, easy, and probably without consequence. Minutes at most, but what would he be able to take in that amount of time? A bottle of unknown liquid, perhaps a small second vial of strange water. It was foolish, this stuff probably didn't even have any street value. Then again, Ash'eny wasn't particularly doing this for the value of any stolen objects. It was for that thrill he hadn't felt in so long that he just wanted to embrace.

Ash'eny, on his fourth patrol of the building, stepped against the wall. Somewhere in the distance he heard the faint tell of Knight's armor beating against itself and the ground, though the faint echo made it difficult to either pinpoint or predict which direction the movement was going. Ash'eny was about to transform.

In one swift motion, Ash'eny took off the brown patchy cloak of his and spun it around, turning the inside to the outside. The cloak would now appear to be strong and black, solid as the night sky itself, perfect for blending with shadows. Perfect for being a thief. After that, Ash'eny paused again, listening to the warning sounds of the armor. Distance was still indistinguishable. Nevertheless, Ash'eny reaching into his Thieves' vest and pulled out his face mask, again black and only helped in concealing his identity. Unfortunately, it also made him suspicious if he was to be seen. Then again, even a well dressed merchant would look suspicious if he was walking around a shop when it was supposed to be closed and locked up.

With his disguise complete, Ash'eny would make his move. Silently of course, since the last thing he wanted was somebody to find him dressed as a thief and coincidentally acting as one. Ash'eny made sure that he moved slowly, partially crouched, and slow enough to keep from making and noisy mistakes. Ash'eny crossed the front of the store in what felt was about three hours and now sat crouched in front of the door. For starters, he tested the handle of the door, just to see if, by any chance, Ms. Blackleaf forgot to lock up the store for once. That would make his job considerably easier. However, a thief is never so lucky.

Ash'eny did have with him the necessary, and highly accepted in his line of work, tools to open such a lock. Perhaps he used simple nicknamed terms for each device he had, but they worked just as well, renamed or unnamed, as any other thieves' tools. Ash'eny picked the two typical tools he used, which he decided to name 'twister' and 'the shiv'. Ash'eny first slid the rod into the keyhole and gave it a soft, and hopefully silent, jiggle to make sure it was firmly inside the lock itself. Next, the 'shiv' was inserted, which would then surf around the innards of the lock as it prodded and poked around, searching for that magical spot.

Ash'eny found that he was actually having a pretty difficult time with said lock. He wasn't sure why though, perhaps he was rusty from not picking a lock in a while (most of his evil deeds consisted of picking pockets as of recently). Regardless, he would take a moment to stop and listen. He no longer heard the sound of the knight at all, which made him nervous. If he was near, he wouldn't know until it was too late. Then again, if he was gone, Ash'eny was safe. He would have to risk it. A few more moments toying with the lock and there was a loud click that rang in Ash'eny's head. The lock was opened, a nervous grin spread across his face as he replaced the tools in his vest and turned the knob on the door, opened it (unfortunately with a dull low pitched screech of pain) and stepped inside, and behind him he closed it.

Ash'eny had obtained access to Stormhold Salves...

Now what?
