Marion's Plotnotes

(This is a thread from Mizahar's fantasy role play forums. Why don't you register today? This message is not shown when you are logged in. Come roleplay with us, it's fun!)

This forum is an OOC forum for PCS and Organizations to work out plans in hardcopy. Each PC or Organization gets a single thread where their players can help work out plans for their PC. Quests, mini-sagas, and Trips can all be organized here as well working out timelines and points of travel and things PCs need to do along the way. Each PC however gets only one Plotnote for their individual PC. Groups get one as well. There is no limit on individuals posting saga or trip plotnote threads. Please denote [PC Plotnotes] or [Group Plotnotes] or [Quest/Trip/Saga Plotnotes] when titling your threads.

"Why?

"It's natural, that's why. You take a deck of cards -- neat, orderly, clean, stacked -- and throw it to the wind. Now, the wind only does what is natural, and suddenly the cards are here, they're there, they're everywhere. And you know what? Those cards will never again form a stack together. Not without human intervention. And why? Because the state they were in before, forced into a singular, bound, limited shape by man's morals and ethics and order, that was unnatural. Deep down, at the core of their being, the cards yearned to be free.

"Freedom is the natural state of things. Chaos is the natural state of things. Man can try to ignore that fact, try to control everything around him, try to claim everything as his own, try to enslave nature to his will, but his will is not strong enough. It will never be strong enough. Order is meaningless. Ethics are meaningless. They do not last, because they are not natural. They are not meant to exist. And efforts to impose them upon the world are doomed to failure. All I do is help people realize that fact before it's too late. Everything they think they know about the world is false. Safety is an illusion. Courage is a lie. Order is an abomination.

"I am the terrifying truth. I'm helping them."

Marion's Plotnotes

Postby Marion Kay on November 12th, 2014, 4:19 am

General + Thread Goals

TO DO
  • Respond to PMs
  • Finish Spring Job Threads
  • Finish Summer Job Threads
  • Get a head start on Fall Job Threads this time.
  • Finish threads involving bird acquisition.
  • Do threads involving bird studying.
  • Thread involving bird dissection.
  • Finally thread involving final product of all this bird-stuff.
  • Exploring the memories of Kelrin & how they effect Marion.
  • Finish Morphing initiation flashback.
  • Finish morning-after-marked flashback.
  • Begin Shadowman flashback.
  • Begin leaving-Alvadas flashback.
  • Flashbacking - Explore relationship w/ childhood crush as inspired by TPoS
  • Begin plotting return to Alvadas. Winter? Spring?
    - Subsequently plot out reunion w/ family and w/ said childhood crush.
  • Begin plotting out ideas for 2nd Krivas mark.
  • I would very much like a pen pal.
  • Remember to do that thread about interacting w/ akalak kids.

Thread Goals/Ideas for Spring 515

14th - Shopping at trade festival & Sentimental thoughts
Simple solo, perhaps boring but necessary. In a stroke of sentimentality, Marion ventures into the Endrykas trade festival in search of a gift for her mother, not at all intending to actually send it. It's a pigeon (adult, hen, 5 cm) -- her mother was always fond of animals. Heck, she buys two because why not. Also buys some clothes. Thread ends with Marion writing a letter to her mother that will never be sent.
Follow-up thread or continuation, "Birdbrain", at library, reading up on "Caring for Your Pigeon". Also finds book on pigeon anatomy, sparks interest in morphing model.

21st – Bird attack at Lapis park.
  • pm to join
    W/ Ashar, Ongoing

22nd - Investigating bird attack on Lapis Park.
  • short solo - "Birdbrain, pt II"

Thread Ideas/Goals

TBDth - Running & Body Building training thread ("Remember the Pain")
  • Solo / pm to join
Marion, striving to turn her body into a weapon after she has failed multiple times to defend herself from physical affronts, decides to go for a run. She doesn't stretch before hand, winds up worn out, in pain, and lost on the side of the city she's least familiar with. Walks to cool dawn, finds herself at Gideon's Glory, etc. Lower priority but possibly important for development purposes.

TBDnd - "Enter Shadowman"
  • Solo
May require completion of flashback thread first. Marion running in the evening, exhausted, finds self in amphitheater. Internal confrontation w/ forgotten model of Shadowman, in response to her recent concerns that she is currently too weak to be as effective in her endeavors as she needs to be. Needs a more powerful ally. The morph takes over in her weakened mental and physical state. She relinquishes to Shadowman at first, allowing the morph to take over her body, until it occurs to her that she needs the control. Reference Creep lyrics -- I don't care if it hurts, I want to have control, etc. Odd mental duel ensues. Marion ends up having to wound herself to keep her mind and body grounded and regain control. Priority thread, important development and morphing training to be had.

TBDnd - Unarmed Combat Training thread
  • Solo / pm to join
Marion disguised as Iramon. Meets the two akalak boys from the previous day at the Tuvya Sasran (after getting lost, of course). Straightforward training thread with insight into Akalak and culture. Combat style taught is similar to Krav Maga.

TBDth - Dissecting ("A Noose for Birds")
Solo. Marion kills one of the pigeons. Then she cuts it open. And analyzes certain features of its anatomy. Bird morphing model planning thread, where she diagrams things in her journal and tries to draw. The other pigeon is kept alive so she can watch how it flies. Morbid thread, lots of character development as Marion tries to suppress her humanity and her own horror at her actions, despite how small they may seem in the grand scale. Drawing training thread. Also observation. Possible animal husbandry/birdkeeping and investigation. Possible follow-up trip to library? Or doing this at library? You know what you wanna do.

General Goals
  • Get more (& better) goals.
  • Places to go: Alvadas, Endrykas(?), Zeltiva, Sahova.
  • Learn about Rhysol and his connection to Ssena.
  • Long term: Get to Sahova, become a Prairie initiate.
    - Personal reqs: Expert Morphing & Competent Unarmed
    - Learn from The Pit
  • Also long term: Familiar - Gordios? Pascid? "Amalganon"
  • Longer term: Destroy the Windoak, destroy new Sylir, destroy civilization.
  • Also longer term: Destroy Priskil?
    - Ultimate Goal: Become Goddess/Alvina of Hate/Wrath?
  • Master (or max) morphing = "Marion Kay" no longer exists.
    - Start working on aliases and pseudonyms.
  • 2nd Krivas mark - need to figure out plot: Terrorizing a group or community. Over how long of a time period? Return to Alvadas for this?
  • Once 2nd mark is obtained, spend a year trying to establish a Ssena cult.
  • Establish Ssena cult?
  • Buy new clothes to usher in a prouder, more regal, more dangerous Marion.
  • A pen pal?
  • Develop morphing models
    - Do FBs with beast & nightmare MMs.
    - GIANT MOFO BIRD
  • Crush someone's heart. On purpose.
    - I have an idea.
    - This is part of that thing inspired by TPoS.
    - This is going to be fun to write.
  • Care about someone.
    - Covering this in flashback threads.
    - Part of plot insp. by TPoS. This is going to be good.
  • Hurt someone she cares about.
    - Oh ho ho, you guessed it.
    - TPoS
  • BIRDS
    - bird anatomy; organs, wing structure, flight mechanics, skeletal structure, beak structure, eye positioning, talons, feathers, noses, ears
    - find birds, dissect them, hopefully avoid making ppl think she's a weirdo (or do idc)

Other
  • Marion thinks in 2nd person. This is important. Who/what is talking to her inside her head? Who/what is she talking to? Expand on this and other effects of morphing. Write a scrap post on this to better organize thoughts and ideas.

    - Idea: Certain morphing models she develops take a distinct voice inside her mind, like their thoughts are pushing up against her own. They only reveal themselves when she takes the form of that particular model. The exception to this is "Wiser Marion", who, as a result of a flashback (currently in progress), is a near-permanent fixture in Marion's resting mind.

Personality / Concept Notes

ENTP
ENTP Description :
"Clever" is the word that perhaps describes ENTPs best. The professor who juggles half a dozen ideas for research papers and grant proposals in his mind while giving a highly entertaining lecture on an abstruse subject is a classic example of the type. So is the stand-up comedian whose lampoons are both funny and incisively accurate.

ENTPs are usually verbally as well as cerebrally quick, and generally love to argue--both for its own sake, and to show off their debating skills. ENTPs tend to have a perverse sense of humor as well, and enjoy playing devil's advocate. This sometimes confuses, even angers, those who don't understand or accept the concept of argument as a sport.

ENTPs are as innovative and ingenious at problem-solving as they are at verbal gymnastics; on occasion, however, they manage to outsmart themselves. ENTPs can be prone to "sharp practice" – especially cutting corners without regard to the rules if it's expedient – or, their juggling acts may simply be so over-ambitious they collapse.

Both at work and at home, ENTPs are very fond of "toys" -- physical or intellectual, the more sophisticated the better. Once these have been "solved" or become too familiar, however, they’ll be replaced with new ones.

ENTPs are basically optimists, but in spite of this (perhaps because of it?), they can become petulant about small setbacks and inconveniences. (Major setbacks they regard as challenges, and tackle with determination.) ENTPs have little patience with those they consider wrongheaded or unintelligent, and show little restraint in demonstrating this. In general, however, they are genial, even charming, when not being harassed by life.

In terms of their relationships with others, ENTPs are capable of bonding very closely and suddenly with their loved ones. Some appear deceptively offhand with their nearest and dearest; others are so demonstrative that they succeed in shocking co-workers who've only seen their professional side. ENTPs are also quick to spot a kindred spirit, and good at acquiring friends of similar temperament and interests.

ENTPs may sometimes give the impression of being largely oblivious to the rest of humanity except as an audience: good, bad, or potential. In general this is unfair – but it can be difficult to get an ENTP’s attention when they’re not immediately aware of you, especially for an Introvert.

The best approach in communicating with an ENTP is to be straightforward. No games – they’ll win. No "pulling rank" – they’ll just want to put you in your place. No apologies – you’ll undermine yourself. Try "I need/want to talk to you."

"The ENTP villain has crazy plans, which usually involve causing deliberate chaos, and they love talking about these plans. They want everyone to see how brilliant they are for coming up with it. Best example is The Joker, in almost any incarnation, but specifically in The Dark Knight."

Chaotic Neutral

"A chaotic neutral character follows her whims. She is an individualist first and last. She values her own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. She avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, she would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from herself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but her behavior is not totally random. She is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it."

  • Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal.
  • Chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment when it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.

Chaotic Neutral Overview :
Above respect for life and good, or disregard for life and promotion of evil, the chaotic neutral places randomness and disorder. Good and evil are complimentary balance arms. Neither are preferred, nor must either prevail, for ultimate chaos would then suffer. This view of the cosmos holds that absolute freedom is necessary. Whether the individual exercising such freedom chooses to do good or evil is of no concern. After all, life itself is law and order, so death is a desirable end. Therefore, life can only be justified as a tool by which order is combated, and in the end it too will pass into entropy.

Chaotic neutral characters believe that there is no order to anything, including their own actions. With this as a guiding principle, they tend to follow whatever whim strikes them at the moment. Good and evil are irrelevant when making a decision. Chaotic neutral characters are extremely difficult to deal with. Such characters have been known to cheerfully and for no apparent purpose gamble away everything they have on the roll of a single die. They are almost totally unreliable. In fact, the only reliable thing about them is that they cannot be relied upon!

Chaotic neutral characters like to indulge in everything. This is the insurgent, the con-man, gambler, and high roller; the uncommitted freebooter seeking nothing more than self-gratification. This type of character will at least consider doing anything if they can find enjoyment or amusement. Life has meaning, but theirs has the greatest meaning. According to chaotic neutrals, laws and rules infringe on personal freedom and were meant to be broken. This character is always looking for the best deal, and will work with good, neutral, or evil to get it; as long as she comes out of the situation on top. The chaotic neutral is constantly teetering between good and evil, rebelling, and bending the law to fit her needs.

Chaotic neutrals can also be completely random and unpredictable. They may shift allegiances at a moment's notice, or remain with a leader for years. The chaotic neutral character feels that there is no plan at all for the universe. Things just happen. They tend to believe in luck and chance, rather than fate or destiny. They don't care what happens to others, yet will not necessarily go out of their way to harm others. If someone stands in the way of their happiness, they may kill that individual or move on to something else. Their priorities tend to change as they experience new things in life. They may even appear to adhere to another alignment for some length of time, only to switch at an inappropriate moment. They can be the worst tricksters, conning people, not for gain, but for sheer amusement. The chaotic neutral may not be driven by fame or wealth, but may only take actions just to see what happens.

In direct opposition to the lawful neutral being, this character views ultimate freedom and disorder as most desirable. She sees good and evil in a secondary role, and neither should be allowed to interfere with pure chaos. Whether the individual chooses to do good or evil is of no concern. Violence is not a chaotic neutral trait, but adherents will often not hesitate to use intimidation and non-lethal violence to achieve their goals. These characters will almost always seek some selfish goal (such as acquiring wealth) in addition to the promotion of universal disorder, and are thus seen as "greedy" by others. Naturally, the chaotic neutral being won't see this as greed, but rather as "self-fulfillment." Thus, respect for others does not stand in the way of the pursuit of individuality. Since death is inevitable anyway, the chaotic neutral being isn't averse to speeding certain creatures on their ways if it's deemed necessary, although he won't go out of her way to inflict pain and suffering like an evil being would. Life can only be justified as a tool by which order is combated.

A chaotic neutral character will keep her word if it serves her interests. She may attack an unarmed foe if she feels it necessary. She will not kill, but may harm an innocent. She may use torture to extract information, but never for pleasure. She may kill for pleasure, but is not likely to do so. A chaotic neutral character may use poison. She may help those in need and he prefers to work alone, as she values her freedom. She does not respond well to higher authority, is distrustful of organizations, and will disregard the law in pursuing her self-interest. She may betray a family member, comrade, or friend, but only in the most dire of situations. Chaotic neutral characters do not respect the concepts of self-discipline and honor, because they believe such concepts limit freedom to advance their self-interest.

Here are some possible adjectives describing chaotic neutral characters: unreliable, independent, greedy, inconsistent, unpredictable, selfish, disorderly, anarchic, self-centered, confusing, unfettered, free, and individualistic.

Rhysol ||
Gillar on Rhysol & His Followers :
On Rhysol

In the end, it's not about being the God of Evil because what is that exactly? Is it performing or supporting mindless violence? Is it breaking down good just because? Is it because wearing black is cooler than wearing white? I tried to approach Rhysol as a completely different form of evil. His evil is only evil because it can't be described, identified or pinned down. He can do immense amounts of good, or at least things that may be perceived as being good yet there is always an ulterior motive. He may do things that could be seen as immeasurably evil but he doesn't do them because they are evil. What he does is done because it is what he feels is right. He truly feels that he is the best thing for Mizahar. He thinks that order, peace and all the things tied to a "structured" civilization is too limiting. He truly feels that through chaos, betrayal, lies and deception, the mortals of Mizahar can discover the real meaning to their lives and attain that which they are destined for. If all a person knows is safety, security and predictability, they can never reach their full potential. Of course this is Rhysol's greatest flaw. All the things he holds dear inevitably bring about disaster. That is why The Voice is needed to help temper and direct Rhysol's whim.

Followers of Rhysol do not seek to bring down society for the sake of spreading anarchy. They seek to sew the seeds of deceit and chaos as a means of bettering society by revealing the true nature of life to those around them. To them, life is not a structured, ordered, routine, normal concept. They seek to break that all down and reveal the true nature of life as being as unpredictable as the exact location of where exactly a drop of rain may fall. Even if their actions bring about the death of others, those who have died will carry on their experience through future lives, even if they don't consciously know it. Those who knew the people who have perished thanks to Rhysol's followers will also carry that on in some fashion. They will have been touched by it and forever changed. Rhysol's followers, while often doing things that are horrifically dark and evil, do so because they feel they are breaking the illusion of civilization for the betterment of the world. They aren't evil because they seriously want to hurt others. They are evil because they think they are doing what is right. Everyone else is living a lie in their eyes. The world is a dark, chaotic, horrible place and that only through Rhysol can a person see this and only through Rhysol can a person learn to navigate and even grow in such a place. A Chaon sees themselves as the ultimate good; one that cannot be understood by lessers. The Chaon is enlightened and is on a mission to spread that enlightenment to others. This is what it is to serve Rhysol.

“Oh," the girl said, shaking her head. "Don't be so simple. People adore monsters. They fill their songs and stories with them. They define themselves in relation to them. You know what a monster is, young shade? Power. Power and choice. Monsters make choices. Monsters shape the world. Monsters force us to become stronger, smarter, better. They sift the weak from the strong and provide a forge for the steeling of souls. Even as we curse monsters, we admire them. Seek to become them, in some ways." Her eyes became distant. The little poets sing of little things:
Hope, cheer, and faith,
small queens and puppet kings;
Lovers who kissed and then were made as one,
And modest flowers waving in the sun.

The mighty poets write in blood and tears
And agony that, flame-like, bites and sears.
They reach their mad blind hands into the night,
To plumb abysses dead to human sight;
To drag from gulfs where lunacy lies curled,
Mad, monstrous nightmare shapes to blast the world.

Seasonal Goals

March (2015)
1. Get involved in a city event. [special theater performances obvi. form and fitness festival? coincides with desire to become more physically capable. GIANT BIRDS in lapis park -- sparks interest in bird model?]

3. Share your new year resolutions with someone [resolution: get fit]
4. Stargaze with a loved one, friend, or potential lover.

April (2015)
1. Teach someone something. [about Ssena? about morphing? most potential there with hirem, marion is lame and has no other friends and i use "friend" loosely. possibly teaching self something? i.e. BIRD dissecting. need birds first. teaching self combat morphing?]
2. Be involved in a heated argument [religion, faith?]
3. Venture out of Riverfall and go on/participate in a hunt. [possible solo? dunno what she would hunt, is not a hunter. developing combat morphing? go for a run? wait i know, BIRD hunting and failing so bad but need birds to dissect so bad too]
4. Set a new goal. [to become physically fit, turn body into weapon, GIANT MOFO BIRD model]

May (2015)
1. Participate in one of the festivals [valterrian fest? trade festival, buying gift/clothes? if iramon developed soon enough, join open sweetday thread? ink fest, trying to morph tattoo patterns onto skin?]
2. Cast aside your rags and get yourself a new piece of clothing and/or jewelry and/or equipment. [yes new clothes yes]
3. Engage in some sort of combat. [strangling npc achieved. better option to take UC lessons at tuvya sasran, either as marion or as iramon idc. UC lessons from hirem as part of sanc veterinary classes? fighting something on plains during hunting birds solo? that would be a very long solo.]
4. Go to a Park. [investigating bird attack]

Marion's Plotnotes

Postby Marion Kay on November 12th, 2014, 4:23 am

100 Questions

General Information :
1. What is your Name? A girl with many faces earns many names. But I was born Marion. Kay. Your pleasure, certainly.
2. Do you go by a nickname or pet name? Call me whatever you want. I'll return the favor.
3. How old are you? Young.
4. What is your height? Average.
5. What is your weight? Rude.

Aesthetics :
1. Describe yourself as you see yourself. I'm everything I wish to be, and everything you wish I wasn't.
2. Describe yourself as others typically see you. They'll see me however I want them to see me.
3. What is your favorite body feature? That's a tough one y'know. I have a lot of favorites, but there's nothing I mind altering.
4. How physically fit are you? Not as much as I need to be, I've discovered.
5. How do you typically dress and what is your style? Oh, I love bright colors. More specifically, splashes of bright color against more muted tones. Gold on white. Pink on black. Preferably in a swirling pattern. But Sunberth demonstrated to me the impracticality of such a wardrobe -- now I just tend to dress like everyone else, though I do favor masculine styles.

Family :
1. Who are your parents and what are they like? My mother is a gardener, my father is an artist. They're nice people. That's all you need to know.
2. Do you have any brothers or sisters? I don't.
3. What is your extended family like? Alvads. Artists. Illusion-worshiping sheep. Take your pick.
4. Do you consider close friends as important or more/less important than family? If I treated my friends like I treat my family, they wouldn't be friends for very long. Then again, they never are.
5. Do you treat animals like family? What does that even mean?

Location :
1. Where were you born? Alvadas, city of wonder and whatnot.
2. Where do you live now? Riverfall.
3. If you could live anywhere in Mizahar where would that be? I've no clue. What, you think I'm some expert on world cultures? I'm quite fond of Sunberth, save the "burn the mage" attitude.
4. Do you have a favorite place to vacation or spend leisure time? No.
5. Where do you fear to be? In your shoes. [insert smirk]

Traits :
1. Do you have any physical weaknesses (disease, scars, and missing limbs?) No.
2. Are you right handed or left handed? Right-handed.
3. What languages do you speak? What do you sound like? Do you have an accent? I grew up speaking Common, and I've picked up a few words in Tukant since I got to Riverfall. I tend to draw out vowel sounds and over-pronounce my R's. It's not something I tend to notice. I guess you'd say I have an Alvadan accent.
4. Do you have any odd mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?I've a habit of leaving places messier than I found them.
5. Do you have (or want to get) any tattoos or piercing? Why do you have them (or will get them) ? I got a tattoo on my left forearm in Sunberth. In hindsight, I'm lucky I didn't pick up some kind of infection too. No piercings -- morphing is difficult enough without having to work around obstacles.

Occupations :
1. What is your occupation?
2. Do you like/dislike your work? Why?
3. If you could be anything you wanted to, what would you be?
4. What occupation do you admire the most? Why?
5. What occupation do you lest like? Why?

Childhood :
1. What sort of child were you? Awkward, in a word. I was a pretty nervous kid, I lacked a lot of confidence and I'm sure other kids could pick up on that. I never had very many friends, before Ssena came. Didn't really have many after she came either. Let's talk about something else.
2. What is your favorite memory from childhood? [Marion refuses to answer.]
3. What is your worst memory from childhood? [Again, she refuses to answer.]
4. What sort of relationship did you have with your parents? The regular kind. Moving on.
5. Who was your most influential role model? Life.

Education :
1. What sort of education do you have? I learned the same things every other kid did. And then I got my father's brand of the Kay curriculum on the side. The arts were never my thing, much to his disappointment, but he did capitalize of my natural grip on morphing.
2. Do you like/dislike learning? I like learning, I dislike being educated. If it's interesting, I'll pay attention. If it's not, don't push me. I'll push back. And you won't like how I push.
3. Where or how did you learn most of your skills/abilities? I don't know how to answer this. I learned them when I had to learn them.
4. How do you learn best? First-hand experience and a lot of trial-and-error.
5. What are your educational goals for the future? To... get some?

Intimacy :
1. Do you form close bonds with people? Why? Why not? Yes, but not often nor easily.
2. Do you trust people easily? If not, why not? No. Do I really need to explain why? When you put your trust in someone, you essentially give control of the relationship over to them. It's lazy and generally a bad idea.
3. Do you consider yourself straight, gay, bi, or something else? I don't consider myself anything.
4. Have you ever been kissed? If so, describe the first time. Yes. Don't push your luck.
5. Have you ever had sex? If so, describe the first time. I have. But I don't appreciate you telling me what to do.

Drugs and Alcohol :
1. Have you ever been drunk? If so, describe your first time. I have. It was nothing special, and nothing I'd wish to repeat.
2. Do you like to drink on a regular basis? No. I don't exactly jump at the chance to relinquish control of my faculties.
3. What sort of alcohol do you prefer? The kind that doesn't taste like piss.
4. Have you ever tried drugs (mood altering substances)? If so, which kinds and what did you think of them? No.
5. What do you think of drugs and alcohol? Be specific. They're just examples of tools people use to hide from the truth.

Likes and Dislikes :
1. What are your hobbies?
2. Do you like to read? Oh, for sure.
3. What annoys you more than anything else? Blind stupidity.
4. What do you find the most relaxing activity to do?
5. What kinds of things embarrass you? Why?

1. What is your favorite color or colors? Oh, please don't ask me to pick favorites, sweetcheeks.
2. What is your favorite time of day?

2. What is your greatest regret?
3. What is your best/worst memory?
4. If you could change one thing about your past, what would it be and why?
5. What are you the most proud of doing in your life?

2. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
3. What makes you happy?
4. Who or what, if anything, would you die for?
5. What makes you angry?

2. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
3. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?

5. What do you think of others, in general?

Self Image :
1. What is your greatest strength as a person?
2. What is your greatest weakness?

4. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?
5. Are you generally organized or messy?

Morphing

"Normal"

Akalak
Image "Iramon"
A young akalak boy, appearing ~8 years of age. 5'0", 125 lbs (cannot deviate far form original mass). Height is reduced to shift mass to muscles -- shoulders, arms. Hip width reduced, moved to torso. Breast weight dispersed across torso. Hair shortened & darkened, facial features tweaked (rounder face, plumper lips, wider nose, heavier brow), eyes take yellow hue, ears elongate upwards into points. And, obviously, skin takes deep blue color. No-no square unchanged.

Konti
Image Unnamed Konti
wip Simple Konti model; height, weight, and body shape remain unchanged. Facial features may or may not be adjusted according to situation. Hair and skin are paled, small silver scales emerging across forehead and along upper arms, across back, and down sides of legs. Webbed fingers and toes. Gills on sides of neck are largely decorative and non-functioning until higher levels when Marion figures out how they're supposed to work.
Not yet developed in-thread.

Kelrin Evrith
Image Kelrin Evrith
On the 45th of Summer, 515 AV, a strange and almost otherworldly encounter on the beaches of Riverfall led Marion to inherit the memories of the deceased Inarta man Kelrin Evrith, essentially forcing a whole other lifetime of experiences into her psyche. As a means of coping with the psychological stresses of this, Marion has developed (will develop) a model of Kelrin to serve as a physical manifestation of these experiences in the expectation that it will somehow aid her in separating his memories from her own.

Kelrin is 5' 6" and weighs around 150 lbs, the requirement of additional mass as well as the attempts at recreating full male anatomy will make this morph an expert-level technique despite the simplicity of other alterations. To morph: height remains unchanged, entire body is broadened (especially shoulders and torso), layers of muscle are added, neck is thickened, hands and fingers are widened and thickened, bones are thickened, legs are slightly shortened, torso is slightly expanded upward, breasts are dispersed and pectoral (and abdominal) muscles are given definition. Hairline is pushed back and squared at the corners, eyes are positioned more closely together, nose is made less wide but longer and more rectangular, lips are paled and mouth is made slightly wider. Skin adopts a more ruddy hue, a full beard about 1 to 2 inches long is made, hair on head shortens and loses its part, all hair is turned a burnt umber color, eyebrows thin and shorten in width but keep a sharp arch, brow is lowered moved forward to give the appearance of deep-set eyes, forehead is made less wide to give the face a more rectangular shape, jaw is squared sharply though hidden beneath the beard, chin is wider and more prominent. Slight wrinkles are developed around eyes, mouth, and forehead, and stray grey hairs line whiskers and edge of hairline.

"Monstrous"

Glider
Image Glider
"I am Bite of Gliding Wing Through Screaming Wind," said the voice in a fierce, deep timbre that resonated with all the triumph of the world. "You may call me Glider." And Marion somehow felt it was an honor to be afforded the privilege.
wip Giant bird model -- has to be extremely large to compensate for fact that Marion cannot deviate far from original mass. Very large wingspan, ~15-20 feet; small body, large head. Large beak with razor teeth. Predatory forward-facing eyes, raptor-like.
Not yet developed in-thread. Will need extensive IC research. See BIRDS and other pertaining subject matter under General Goals.
OOC note: Largest land bird, Argentavis magnificens (extinct), 23ft wingspan & ~150 lbs. Largest sea bird, Pelagornis sandersi (extinct), 20-24ft wingspan & only 48-88 lbs. Argentavis' wingspan was only about 13ft without feathers, implying large amounts of feathers may be needed to keep such a heavy bird afloat. Or maybe much of their weight was attributed to their feathers. Pelagornis, on the other hand, was a sea bird and could use the air currents above the water to aid in flying.

Nightmare
Image Nightmare
[Description here.]
Not yet developed in-thread. Requires flashback.

Beast
Image Beast
[Description here.]
Not yet developed in-thread. Will require extensive IC experimentation.

Parents NPC Write-up

Sticking this here temporarily because I can.

ImageName: Crean Kay
Race: Human
DoB: 53 Summer, 469 AV
PoB: Alvadas
Occupation: Artist
Skills: Drawing 65, Morphing 49, Painting 32, Teaching 20, Intelligence 15
Gnosis: None
Background Info: There are few things in this world Crean Kay loves more than art. One of those few things is Ionu themself. Having been born and raised in the city of illusions, every waking moment of his day is dedicated to honing his craft in dedication to the patron deity of Alvadas. Every stroke of his brush, every curve he draws, every form he designs, brings him closer to the god. Or so he believes. But despite all his fanaticism, not once has he ever found himself under the god's favor or presence. Those he asks for advice in this matter cite his use of magic as a barrier between himself and the true meaning of what it is to serve Ionu. Crean, however, either refuses or fails to acknowledge this point.

With a personality as ever-shifting as his appearance, he is prone to flights of fancy and seemingly inane loops of logic that defy explanation. Those who know Crean most commonly refer to him as a madman, though whether or not the term is meant as a insult or compliment is wholly up to the individual. One of the only constants about Crean -- besides his obsessive faith -- is his pursuit of perfection, though his day-to-day idea of "perfection" is not quite so unwavering.

The Kay lineage has long held a reputation for producing high-caliber artists. One would be hard-pressed to name a Kay, dead or alive, that hasn't at the very least dabbled in crafts ranging from glass blowing to theater. Crean, having displayed an early aptitude for the pen, was sent to the University of Zeltiva to capitalize on his talent. Though a voracious and enthusiastic student, Crean soon found his attention divided between his drawing studies and those topics more foreign and taboo. Magic at first attracted him by the sheer novelty of it; however, the more he laid awake at night, pondering the prospect of it, the more overwhelmed he became at the sheer possibilities it presented. To go beyond simple tricks of the mind and alter the very fabric of reality? He could think of no greater artistry, and no better way to honor the god he'd been raised to worship.

ImageName: Angela Kay
Race: Human
DoB: 89 Spring, 474 AV
PoB: Zeltiva
Occupation: Florist
Skills: Botany 70, Rhetoric 55, Floristry 36, Gardening 23, Herbalism 20, Medicine 10, Animal Husbandry 10
Gnosis: None
Background Info: If her husband is fire, Angela Kay is ice -- solid, collected, even cold. She often comes across as aloof or hard despite beneficent intentions, and she is only ever truly warm when spending time with the occasional small animal and the many potted plants that litter her home, with a particular fondness for cats and daisies. A real oddity in Alvadas, she is softspoken, introspective, and as some locals put it, "really quite bland." But behind this apparently insipid demeanor lurks a woman of sharp intelligence and wit. Many who think to oppose her in debate find themselves verbally gutted, and even in heated arguments she maintains a nearly disturbing level of calm.

As the only child of a Zeltivan lawyer and university professor, Angela was thought to have a bright future ahead of her in politics or law. Her quick mind and ability to form strangely accurate conclusions from only partial information certainly indicated a propensity for the field. But, as it turned out, she much preferred trees and dirt to the intricacies of ancient political systems. She found herself abandoning university classes to meander into the fringe of the nearby woodlands instead, learning from nature what could never be taught indoors.

Of course, her parents were furious once they discovered they'd been wasting their mizas on classes and courses that their daughter wasn't attending. Rather than face their wrath and conform to the future they had so carefully constructed for her, Angela took her leave of the city, realizing that she wouldn't be able to honor her newfound calling unless she escaped from under her family's influence. She traveled with a friend from university, a talented and well-born artist, back to his home of Alvadas where they were then married. Her life in the city of illusions is not without its difficulties, but the ever-changing landscape provides a level of excitement that keeps her occupied and satisfied in her everyday life. However, she does often find herself at odds with the locals and their sometimes frivolous lifestyles. She is prone to taking day trips outside of the city limits to escape the fast-paced beat of the city and reminisce about the days when she could count the world around her to remain serene and steadfast.

Don't break your promises.

An outline of the concept will go here. In a nutshell: "Debt collection." Psychological bullies for hire. Nonviolent solutions to your problems. Killing or maiming the people you loan to isn't ideal if you want repeat customers.

How will it benefit the city? How will it benefit your character?

The Kay Family of Alvadas

The dream-team Fable & Mirage have asked for a small lore write-up of the Kay family. Herein are my notes and thoughts so far. Heavy WIP.

Overview
The Kays are a well-known family in the city of Alvadas, generally known for their artistic abilities and flights of whimsy. The lineage has long held a reputation for producing high-caliber artists, and one would be hard-pressed to name a Kay, dead or alive, who hasn't at the very least dabbled in crafts ranging from glass blowing to play writing.

what does an overview include? what is the family, what is their purpose, how big are they? do they have common personality traits? "The Kay lineage has long held a reputation for producing high-caliber artists. One would be hard-pressed to name a Kay, dead or alive, that hasn't at the very least dabbled in crafts ranging from glass blowing to play writing."

History
The first recorded instances of the Kay presence in Alvadas stems from a man appropriately named First Kay. Rather, such is the name he adopted upon his escape from slavery under the Askara dynasty of Kenash, and his identity prior to his arrival in Alvadas is largely unknown. The more scholastically inclined of his recent descendents have dedicated a number of years to researching his origins to no avail, though it is widely assumed that he was simply born into his slavery and raised among the Askaras' abnormal eccentricities. However, other veins of information have been uncovered, namely First Kay's relationship with Ionu and the fact that he was a priest of the trickter god at the time of his death. Furthermore, remnants of his personal notes suggest he was marked by the god from a young age, and that it was Ionu who ultimately convinced him to take flight from Kenash to Alvadas, though whether or not this convincing was done literally or figuratively is a point still contended among modern Kay generations. Those who wish to claim a more devoutly religious and philosophical ancestor will insist that First arrived at the decision to flee what was likely the only life he'd ever known on his own accord and out of his devotion to his god, greatly pleasing Ionu upon his arrival in their city.

where does the family originate, how far back does it go? who was the first one - what race were they & what were their founding ideals? how did the family grow into what it is today?

Reputation
how does the family see alvadas & the world around them / how does alvadas see the family? devout worshippers of ionu. what are they known for?

Family
how do members go about studying their respective skills -- travelling abroad and incorporating the knowledge from their travels and other cultures into their artistry? what kind of skills are common? common personality traits? what about disgraces to the family -- both people who can art but don't worship ionu well and people who can't art? why send people abroad to learn? what about the acumen asylum and opportunities to learn locally? how do they incorporate illusions into their artistry? what do they think of other artists? Revel in the overworld, but what about those in the underground?
