Even ghosts need entertainment. Dead Man's Tales is a popular place in Black Rock with an apt name; it showcases stories that are often inspired by the locals themselves. Situated near the bottom of the rocky peak, the open-air amphitheatre was more or less a natural formation, prized for its ability to amplify and echo sound. Performers enjoy knowing that even their whispers can be heard by the patron sitting at the top row of the tiered stone steps, carved against the dark-grey, basalt terrain. Though the theatre normally seats around 300 people, it often packs close to 500 on special occasions.

Such occasions are twice per season. Each show is both written and directed by Kristen Snowsong, a living Vantha with a knack for pulling at your heartstrings. The first of the shows tends to be either a romance, or a comedy. The second is oftentimes a tragedy, or a horror story. Quite a lot of production is put into these shows, and they tend to be the talk of the Rock during the opening week. However, in addition to the seasonal productions, Kristen also puts on mini shows every weekend. They range from talent competitions and dance performances to stand-up comedy and storytelling with puppets.

Dead Man's Tales is truly a haven for both the living and the dead. Besides the sheer excitement and amusement in the experience, every show is meant to showcase dramatic material that incorporates profound, provocative and timeless observations about the human condition.

Other: Kristen has been working at the theatre ever since she first came to Black Rock from her icy homeland in Avanthal, back in 508 AV. She has been known to be rather soft-spoken, and will often take the time to listen to actors and audience members for their view on certain aspects of the shows she puts on. Rockers are fond of her ability to create heartfelt stories, and will usually share stories of their own, in hopes that she can weave them into a tale worth bringing to life.

Being a perfectionist, Kristen is extremely critical of her work, and tends to refuse showing it off until it is 'just right'. This can prove to be quite the challenge, leaving her actors and close friends with the task of trying to convince her that her idea of "ok" is good enough for the seasonal productions.
