Hunting

Jenna soared over the farms surrounding the city. The snow covered farmland was no hindrance to her sight. She glided over the thermal air currents effortlessly soaring over the land. It was the trick she had learned in her practice flying. That was when she saw movement, a hare, moving across the filed. She had to play this carefully if she was to do this right.

Jenna soared around playing coy as if she didn't see the hare, trying to lull it into a false sense of security. It was still, trying to pretend it was part of the snowy landscape but with her eagle sight she could see it. She swooped towards it's flank and began the dive, her body speeding up as she went to hit it but it darted away and she had to swoop back up into the air suddenly to stop from hitting the ground. She hated this, she was terrible at it but well she had watched others do it before so it couldn't be too hard.

She landed on a tall tree and watched the landscape. she had noted that someone bought bones on the notice board, so she would keep them this time. It would require more work in her human form but she didn't mind if it fetched her money. She was also going to try something else, she noted that many liked the furs, if she kept them intact till she could do human work on them, then perhaps she could make some coin off of that.

That was when she spotted an hare moving again, it didn't see her so she dove off the tree taking off and swooping down this time having the element of surprise as the hare hadn't seen her in the tree she connected her talons raking into the hare as she snapped its neck. The life left it and she flew with it in her grasp. She resisted the urge to eat it there and now. She left it in a tree near by, where she could keep an eye on it. She would kill anything that tried to eat her rabbit.

Jenna flew back up towards the a tall tree and went on the hunt again. She looked out able to see like a human sees 100m all the way out to 3 km. But she didn't spot anything. It was good though she got one, and she was going to try to tan it. She had some practice on it. She would need to buy some things though. That was when she saw something move. Her body became taught, she jumped into the wind and began her descent. It looked to be perfect but as she went to swoop down the hamster spotted her. It was in a hole in the ground as quickly as she had jumped into the air and so she was left with nothing.

Jenna sighed returning to a different tree to get a different vantage point. Her body tense and observing the surroundings of this new vantage point. It was time to find another bit of fun to hunt down. After all it was still mid day and if she was going to make anyt money today she needed to have at least two hares.

Hunting

Postby Jenna Wyne on January 27th, 2015, 2:18 pm

Jenna made a loud screech and saw the creature running across the field, she made her move diving down. She flapped her wings catching the wind and soaring through the air. The air was filled again with her screech as she made her attack, the hare was moving quickly, zig-zagging down the empty field. It was a fierce attack, and the pressure was on. She neared the rabbit and just needed to predict where it would go.

She could do this, she had to have faith in herself she screeched loudly and went in for the kill bouncing off the ground on her first attempt, almost missing any chance but then on her bounce she landed on the hare and dug in lifting it off the ground and snapping it's neck with her powerful talons. She flew up and admired her kill. She carried it to her pack and dropped it and got her other one. It was still safely in the tree. She quickly transformed and put on her clothes from her hidden pack and packed the hares in her bag. It was going to be a good day, she thought as she began her trek home. She darted, being careful not to bring any attention to herself. She knew that it was dangerous in sunberth and best to not draw one's attention. She slipped into her shack of an apartment.

Jenna checked her racks and bins to make sure everything was ready. She cut around the hare's foot, and began to peel off the fur of the hare. It was easy as the fur of an hare was quite thin. Jenna then repeated the process carefully peeling the hare's skin off of their legs. Then she cut around the head and slowly started peeling off the rest of the skin. She couldn't quite get it though and reluctantly ended up just cutting down the belly to make it easier. Not wanting to ruin the hare's skin she then had a much easier time skinning it and ended with a fur and a hare.

Jenna threw the skin into some water and began removing the bones from the hare meat, It was hard, she wasn't very good at it but she had bones now. She then tossed the hare on the counter and grabbed the other one. and threw it in her basket to take to the market to trade. She could make a stew out of her's if she got some vegetables. The stew would last more filling her and she could reheat it as well. She sighed and wiped her hands clean, heading towards the fur.

The hard part was just about to start. She began washing the fur of fat and tissue, trying to get everything she could out of it. It took some time but she got both done and then placed them in the next container, this one had her special solution in it. She place rocks on them to keep them underneath the solution and sighed. Her work was done for today. It would b
She went off to trade her extra meat for some other bits. After all that was the one good thing about being a Kelvic, more than just meat. Jenna smiled as she traded the hare for some vegetables, not much but enough that she could make herself some stew. She quickly made her way back to her strongly smelling apartment, she always forgot how much it smelt, when she was away. Though it didn't really bother her. Jenna made her meal and started the cooking on he hearth and then sat down. She hoped to buy some furs from a hunter, so that she could tan more.

Hunting

Jenna bought a fur lined jacket costing her 60sm from the buyer of her fur's she prepared for her. It was so warm, she basked in it as she walked towards her apartment. It was time to do the next part of her tanning.First she wrenched out the tanning solution back into the vat, wringing out the pelt. It was tedious but soon they were dry or mostly and she would begin the next bit.

It was time to take her knife from her leather working kit and she began removing the bits of flesh carefully and almost cutting the fur and herself a couple times. She slowly removed it, her former master had been able to do it all in one go but hers was in lots of small pieces but she removed it all. She smiled and then put it in the solution again.
Then she pulled out the other one and started fleshing it. She did a little better, getting bigger pieces but not much. It was going to take a while for her to get good at this. She sighed and got to work and finally put it in the solution too. It was going to be an interesting few days she thought.

The coat she had bought was warm and she was rather happy with herself. Though until it was a bit colder she would stick with her cloak, she didn't like how restrictive the coat was. It was a bit too much. She didn't like too much clothing as she wanted to change easily. It was always better that way. She could always get aways that way. She often worried about what she would do in case of a threat. She probably ought to but a weapon she thought, hoping she would never have to use such a thing.

Some time had passed 7 days in fact when she had to start the next part.
It was tedious but she began to take them out of what was left in the solution and she began to wash them with a soap. It was long as she scrubbed into the hair and cleaned them very carefully and thoroughly. She smiled and finished them slowly, trying to get them as dry as she could as she hung the fur's and put them up to dry. She made sure to put them where driect sunlight would never touch them. It wasn't too difficult as she had covered the windows.

Jenna had tried to talk to a Hunter about trapping, but they wouldn't let her know how they did it. She sighed and went to the next part of her tanning two days later. Jenna took them and started breaking the leather, or stretching it out and pinning them to the ground to keep them nice and soft and to break the leather. She carefully streteched the fur not wanting to ruin it. She probably could of gotten more out of them but It would seem that that wasn't the case as she was afraid to break them.
