The Bronze Woods

Vanessa walked through the gates eagerly. It was one of the few days her Patron would let her Patrol the Mountains on her own. With her dagger strapped to her right leg, plus broadsword at her hip. With no armor, she looked like just a regular citizen traveling through the snow. Her cloak wrapped tightly around her body, she sighed. If only the blasted winter would roll over. She used to have such fond thoughts of winter, but now it was just a pain.

The snow went just above her ankles and crunched under her feet. She vaguely wondered if snow was a good for anything, but didn't dwell on it long. The raven haired girl let out a small shudder as strong gust of chilly air was sent her way. Why did have to be so petching cold?

By now she had managed to get a good distance away from the gate. She looked around the woods surrounding her. Leafless trees covered in white flakes of snow made for a pretty sight. Maybe winter had some value after all. She gave in and stopped her trek up the woods, pulling the small dagger from her leg.Maybe I could stay warm with some practice?

She flipped the hilt in her hand. It was a simple steel dagger, that much was true. Then again, it's wasn't like she had it specially designed. She'd but it as a secondary choice in battle should the need arise, but she had little to no skill with wielding it. So it's settled. She began to with simple stretches, just to loosen her muscles so she didn't pull anything. She then took the stance she often did with her broadsword. She lifted her right hand as her face protector, using her felt to hold the dagger. Her feet were spreed almost evenly with her focus on her practice.

She made a simple outward stab with the dagger, but it 3wasn't a straight thrust. Her movements were sloppy and untrained, as she would expect with her level of skill. Even with that said she had no time or patience for errors. She would have to correct herself before she moved on.

[Bronze Woods] Woodland Dangers (Holland)

The crunching of snow could be heard beneath the feet of his mount. Already fully geared up in tack which took hours to do. Due to the fact that Holland could never exactly figure out precisely where everything went. He'd even somehow managed to put the saddle on upside down. Until he figured out how uncomfortable it'd made the horse temporarily. When Declan decided upon bucking him off it's rear end he knew immediately. Which was a rather comical event. Hilarious to be exact, due to the fact that Declan sat on him for several minutes after that occurred. Yet, he cared very little about that for now; His ultimate goal was to simply sight see. Being that he was in the woods again he felt right at home. Although he wasn't quite yet the expert in terms of surviving and thriving in the wilderness. Yet, as the days continued to go by he knew that he would only learn more and more about the wilderness; Due to the fact that he would need to know how to survive in the wilderness. It didn't seem to matter what he did or exactly how he did it; A problem always arose. Therefore majority of the time he spent out in the wild he didn't exactly spend it surviving. He spent it learning and gaining more experience with the world as the days went on. He was fully black clad in his night leather armor, which was layered beneath back and breast armor. Which shone and was evidently composed of steel. Upon both his hands one would notice the edged gauntlets which gave off a frightening appearance; With blades protruding at the elbows. His onyx colored hair flutters about in the dim wind. Whilst Declan continues to trot, and almost immediately he spotted the female.

Being that he didn't know her and wanted to be a social kind and friendly person he approached. His cape flutters about with his slow movements, in wave like motions. He looks about and immediately proceeds to sharply turn his cranium rather swiftly. So that his locks might impact his visage and he simply looks forth; Before beginning to speak. His somewhat tanned skin complexion was rather idiosyncratic and lovely.. He delivered a kind smile to the woman before proceeding to speak. " Aye, My name is Holland Rolandus! Nice to meet you." He spoke as he'd struggled the entire time he was atop the saddle. Trying not to fall off and moving slowly toward her. For now anyone with eyes could see that he was intrigued by her presence. Not to mention he even saw her stances and movements with the dagger.

Vanessa removed her hood when she heard a faint sound of hooves approaching. She didn't want to be interrupted, but if it was a traveler a bit of conversation wouldn't hurt. Well at least she hoped not. As busy as she was with her work as a squire she didn't get much free time to socialize. Possibly it would do some good for her lack of social grace.

The raven haired girl turned just as the man approached, putting her dagger back into it's strap. The stranger looked to be struggling to keep himself on his saddle. Vanessa nodded at his introduction and smiled. "I'm Vanessa; Vanessa Lawson." The woman said kindly. It didn't take her too long to zoom in on Holland's hands however. They were covered in spiked gauntlets.

Perhaps he was a fighter of some kind. Vanessa smiled faintly at the thought. A brawler who couldn't stay on a horse? Who would've thought. She shuddered a bit against another breeze of wind and focused her attention on the man.

"So Holland, what brings you to the woods?"

"Curiosity, My good old friend Curiosity brought me here; Not to mention I tend to frequent this area often." Spoke holland in a rather calm tone; As he'd begun to leap off of Declan and land himself upon the snow covered ground. He'd actually neared the woman and all he wanted to do for now would be examining her features. She was evidently a darker tone of skin; Yet, he found that to be beautiful. Her hair; Her eyes only all the more intrigued him. It was rather shocking that he'd even manage to find a single person roaming about in the woods as he does. Although he wouldn't bother being too formal in his introduction; He looked about for a moment paying close attention to the snow. The gale was rather silent today; and blew with only a solemn breeze.

The day was rather peaceful and calm; He absolutely loved it. Although the question was how long would it remain calm? Just how long would he wait until something occurred? The answer to that question would surely come soon; He began to think to himself. Just why was this woman even located here; Evidently she is cold. I am not cold due to the fact that I am wearing armor; I worry for her. Holland thought as his facial expression changed a slight. His smile still remained upon his face; For now though it simply wasn't quite as wide.

"So, What are you doing out and about around these parts?"
Asked Holland to the woman named Vanessa.

Vanessa gave the man a good look as he dismounted his horse. He was taller than her, with hair a color similiar to her own. His brown hues showed little emotion. He was lightly tanned as well. He appeared not to be bothered by the weather, but then again the man was wearing armor. This ultimately made her question her earlier decision to go without. SHe looked away as not to stare and aswered his question in turn.

"I was patrolling for my Patron." She said, eager to get moving so she wasn't as cold. "I stopped to train in the hopes of getting warm." She said, turning back with a light laugh. She assumed the man had seen her there, probably wondering what the Gods a woman would be doing alone in the bronze woods.Hopefully she had put to rest any assumptions that she was frail or weak by mentioning her Patron.

She then looked from the direction she'd come. From what she could tell, she was a great distance away from the gate. Maybe something interesting would happen to her. Either way she needed to keep practicing. "Do you Spar Holland?"
