Ilvira walked a few feet away from the Suren Cliffs' drop off, welcoming the feeling of grass tickling the skin left uncovered by her sandals and the wind blowing over her flushed cheeks. Usually Ilvira was cutoff from these types of sensations being stuck in rock rooms and tunnels everyday for most of the day. For this reason, Ilvira enjoyed every moment she could be outdoors, and the Suren Cliffs were one of her favorite areas to be.
Ilvira strolled through the grass alone, although she had asked a friend to go with her. Aliya, another Inarta Yasi that's a year younger than Ilvira, has been Ilvira's friend for 5 years despite their differing views of what they considered 'fun'. While Ilvira liked to do outdoorsy things and participate in activities that got her blood pumping, Aliya was quite different from most other Inarta in that she likes to read and learn more than engage in physical activities.
Aliya might have joined Ilvira in going to the Suren Cliffs if her friend wasn't going to be jumping off cliffs and into the water. Ilvira undoubtedly would have forced her to jump at least once, whether she did it willingly or was forced. So Aliya had opted to stay in the city and read in the Enclave. Ilvira knew it was unlikely that Aliya would accompany her and wasn't surprised in the least when her friend had turned her down. Ilvira was used to it and did a lot of activities on her own unless she could round up a few Yasi she didn't really know to go with her. Most often though, Ilvira didn't bother with the other kids, preferring her own company if she didn't have Aliya's.
Unfortuantely, with the Yasi going missing, Ilvira was having less and less chances to roam. Her instructors were well aware of Ilvira's solo adventures and had been fine with them until the Yasi began disappearing. Her teachers were more strict now and tried to keep her from running off. It was to the point now where Ilvira had to actually plan out how she was going to get away from her teachers and at times even had to lie to get away. Now that Ilvira thought about it though, the Yasi disappearances were probably contributing to Aliya's lack of adventurousness. It was also a fair bet that Aliya didn't want to be angering her instructors either. Ilvira didn't particularly like to upset them, but she was desperate for fresh air outside of Wind Reach's city and so she was willing to brave her teachers' wrath for it. Aliya wasn't as keen on getting "fresh air" as Ilvira was. She was perfectly fine in the city.
Before Ilvira's thoughts could take her anywhere else, Ilvira came to a pause mid-step as her eyes came to rest on a figure about a yard away from her. As her eyes focused more, Ilvira could see the pale white hair and skin of a woman sitting at the cliff's edge. It took Ilvira a moment to recognize her as Drusilla. Ilvira suddenly became unsure of herself and she set her other foot back on the ground. She hadn't really talked with the woman and was rarely around her. The only thing really knew about her was that she was Symnestra, a species hated by most Inarta. Drusilla was the one Symnestra allowed in the city; the one exception. While Ilvira didn't quite share in this abhorrence for Drusilla's species - it was more of a cautious fascination, honestly - she did feel a level of anxiousness at the thought of ever meeting one outside of Wind Reach. And though Drusilla seemed like a genuinely nice person in the brief moments she had been in her presence, Ilvira wasn't sure she liked the idea of being alone with her.
Ilvira bit her lip subconsciously as she debated over what to do. Should she approach her? Walk away? Could she maybe ignore her and be ignored in return? Ilvira didn't know what would be the best course of action. Drusilla didn't seem to be busy with anything; she just seemed to be fiddling with some flowers she had evidently collected off the Cliffs. Would Ilvira's company be bothersome to the Symnestra?
Ilvira stood stock still where she had stopped walking as she continued to internally argue with herself.
