Tokia's Tonics

Tokia's Tonic is a little building along The Eastern Bay, made of white washed stone and wood, resembling more of a crowded cottage than legitimate business. Within the old walls lie a plethora of bottles and concoctions, all placed precariously upon table edges, shelves, piles of books, and even stick out from beneath the leaves of potted plants. Hanging from the ceiling's beams, and in front of the windows, herbs dry year round, giving the shop a crisp, earthy smell. If a customer is not careful, they might also find themselves being poked by one of the many weapons irresponsibly laying around. Tokia, the owner, is a far cry from your run of the mill Myrian. Well traveled and a seeker of knowledge, she is open minded and works alongside her old travel companion, Mook. No patron is turned away due to race, only by personality only. Tokia, while fairly patient, has been known to get in violent scuffles with particularly unreasonable customers. It is her compatriot who ends up pulling her away, saving the victim within an inch from their life.

Mook, in response, often stays in the back part of the shop, researching and handling the finances unless issues arise. A middle aged Jamoura and far from home, he is rather reclusive and tidy, working alongside Tokia as a way to balance her own personality. Often, when Tokia's passions get the best of her, or when she seeks guidance on how to handle an ailment that she is unfamiliar with, she disappears in the back to discuss matters further.

To the untrained eye, the place is quite the mess, but despite this, Tokia swears she knows exactly where everything is and will prove it. Do you need a cure for foggy vision? Check the window sill. Something for your lover's bad breath? Top shelf, next to the pile of arrows. Maybe a cream to sooth a burn? Under the Bilberry plant. It is impressive to watch Tokia's sorting through the madness, and customers might also see Mook struggle to understand such organizational methods when the Myrian is away. He often huffs in frustration, pulling his hair when he can't seem to find what he is looking for. Luckily for him, Tokia's absence is rare.

If one is in need of any sorts of elixers, potions, or remedies, Tokia's Tonic is a great place to go. The location boasts of cures for nearly anything, from the mundane to the more complex. Anything from a headache to a love potion, Tokia will have it. The best part of all? It almost always works.

NPC Info

Tokia
Tokia of The Red Orchid
Race: Myrian
Age: 42
Gnosis: Prowess I
Position: Owner of Tokia's Tonic
Skills: Phitering - 65, Herbalism - 50 Medicine - 30 Poison - 30
Other: While Tokia enjoys a good ashl, she is not opposed to any sort of trade, and if one can entice her enough, whether it be trinkets for her hair or a new weapon, she may be willing to part with some of her stock. Due to her hoarding nature, she understands she is running out of space and as the years go on, she finds herself having to turn down more and more of these types of offers. It is not hard to get on the good side of this Myrian, as long as you show respect, and of course, don't attempt to rip her off. Known as very honest and straight forward, Tokia has earned a good, solid reputation as a business owner (even with her few mishaps) and would like to keep it that way.

Mook
Mook
Race: Jamoura
Age: 410
Position: Co-owner of Tokia's Tonic
Skills: Accounting - 30 Teaching - 40 Gardening - 45 Negotiation - 20 Botany - 20
Other: Mook's personality is a nice offset to Tokia's. Even more patient and thoughtful, he prefers to stay out of sight to study and take notes on the shop's stock and sales. Due to his large size, navigating around the front of the shop, along with all its mess, makes it hard for him. For the most part, he likes to remain quiet but when he speaks, it's often to part with a word of wisdom, or dry wit. The bond between him and Tokia usually ends up confusing new customers but to the locals, it's as natural as death itself.

Employment
Employment and Training Info (if applicable)
Due to some of the components needed for her mixtures, not everything can be grown in clay pots. Depending on the interested persons, Tokia is more than willing to accept offers by those who would like a job gathering ingredients. These can vary, needing anything from sea barnacles to moss only found in deep caves. It takes a very dedicated person to take this position. Payment negotiable.

Tokia and Mook are also very willing to accept apprentices, as they find knowledge a right to everyone. It becomes a little difficult due to the crowded nature of the shop, so they may only take one or two at a time, their selection is generally based on whether an individual is dedicated enough to have gathered materials for them before.
