Appearance

Shen is a very short, very dorky looking kid. His teeth are too big, and croud his mouth, his cheeks and forehead are covered in a smattering of light brown freckles, and his bright orange hair sticks out like a sore thumb against his pasty white completion. His bright blue eyes always have a glimmer to them, as if he had never seen a sad day in his life. He is always smiling, often laughing and very rarely complaining or pouting. Shen’s entire being seems to radiate optimism and giddy happiness, so much so that it is hard to be sad in his company.

His stature is short, and he stands at 5’2”, still hoping for another growth spurt. He lacks both muscle and body fat and he seems and is healthy and fit for a boy of his age and size.

Personality

Shen is a real talker. He does not stop talking and observing and commenting on every little thing he see’s. It is very easy to find the little boy annoying when he get’s on one of his spree’s. He does know that this annoys people and he does try very hard to control himself, but he can’t help it, the world was just so big and interesting, and the people in it even more so. He is a bright kid, and he learns very quickly, because he loves to learn. When he sees someone doing something interesting he will 9 times out of 10 ask them as much as he can about it. Often he obsesses over things, and is a huge perfectionist when it comes to skills.

He knows hardship exists and he knows that evil exists and he has suffered much of it at the hands of others, but always indirectly did it affect him. It always confused him how anyone would want to hurt anyone else. The look in someone’s eyes when they were hurt made Shen feel awful. He hates feeling like that, so no matter what, Shen will never let himself be pushed down. He wants to always remain positive, and keep negative emotions buried deep. He wants to always see the best in people unless they prove him otherwise. And he wants to always protect the ones he loves from feeling unhappy, even if all he can do is play them a sweet melody.

Shen is very headstrong, in his own happy-go-lucky kind of way. This means he can also be very stubborn. If he is certain something is right, he will not give up and go back on his words. He can be foolish and emotional as well, often letting his heart rule and saying whatever came to mind, which oftentimes got him in trouble.

Overall Shen is still but a child, still figuring out his path in life, but he will do so with vigor and optimism and let nothing stand in the way of his happiness!

History

Shen’s father was a Dek Inarten man called Azel with a limp and a lazy eye whom fell desperately in love with a human woman named Marsha who was a visitor to wind reach. The match seemed impossible: The human was beautiful, and the Dek was… well, a Dek. But Marsha met Azel one day when she came to his rescue, and whilst nursing the man back to health, the two of them bonded and eventually fell in love. Their love was short lived. Marsha had to leave, they were only passing through on their journey to Lhavit to look after his mothers sick sister. The Dek man stayed behind, depressed and abandoned. For months he continued to live on in hopes that she would return. And return she did, she had promised him after all.

As it turns out, Shen’s mother was heavy with child. She and her father took Azel to Riverfall with them. It was their hometown, and it was where they wanted to raise their child, and grand child. And so, Shen was born in Riverfal a twin. His sister was a mute, but she was just as cheerful as Shen. Her name was Sage and her and Shen always made a mean little team. His father loved them both, but he honestly wasn’t mentally well most of the time. Over the years, money was hard to come by for them because he couldn’t work, and he began to resent Marsha for taking him out of his proper place back in Windreach. He wasn’t able to cope with this new society and so he began to distort reality. Witnessing his strong mother fall apart over Azel’s decent into drugs and alcohol wasn’t easy on Shen. He felt very helpless, always wanting to do something but never being able to do much at all.

His mother taught him things in order to distract him. She taught him the gift of music, buying him a mandolin which Shen took to immediately. He also had a rather good singing voice, and he found that, just by strumming along and singing a tune. Sage loved it too, often accompanying him with her flute. Music was great. Everyone could join in some way. It also calmed his father down when he was in a dangerous mood. Shen did everything he could to be there for everyone, and his selflessness seemed to bring them some joy. Money was scares for most of his childhood. His father could not work and his mother was hard-pressed to make ends meet for the whole family. Her father could not help either for he grew ill not a week after arriving back in Riverfal.

His mother and father fought, some of the fights becoming violent, and eventually they split for good. Shen felt some sympathy for his father but he could never forgive him for hitting mother, and hurting her every day. Shen wanted to remain happy and joyful, because he knew if he let his anger and pain over come him, it would be worse for his ma. They overcame the turmoil as a family, and pulled through. His mother got a better job and was moving up, Sage and Shen made what they could by busking on the streets. Things seemed to be happier than they were now that the toxens had been cast aside. Azel left town, and probably died while traveling. Shen still feels himself feeling upset about it. He still finds himself wishing hed been able to help more. But his mother told him he could not blame himself, and to always remember not to let the evil of others define him. He had to be strong and he had to stay positive, and he should never back down.

Hello there!

I'm Crosspatch, one of the friendly CS Liaisons on Mizahar! I've been looking over your Character Sheet, and I have noticed some minor issues that need to be resolved and fixed. Sadly these need to be done before you can continue roleplaying, so let's take a look at them shall we?

Please change the "Human" race of your account to "Human, Mixed". Such changes can be done through the user control panel.
The Date of Birth must include a day, season and year. More information can be found on the Mizahar Calendar.
Are you planning on having Sage and the other members of Shen's family be a re-occuring NPC while threading? If so, may I advise you look through the NPC Lore and consider making an application for them on the Help Desk.
Your lore "Reading and Writing Sheet Music" is too broad - more so when there is a skill of Music Composition. A lore is some form of general knowledge that the character has gained over their lifetime. Such as knowledge on a particular deity or knowing the layout of a particular city.
You appear to be missing a starting housing option. At creation you are allowed only one of the starting housing options, which are either trading in the housing, have the starting apartment, having the boat starter package (in the case of Svefra) or have the tent package. Please pick one and make the necessary adjustments to your CS to reflect your choice.

Once these problems have been dealt with, drop me a PM and I'll remove this intervention and approve your CS for you. Also if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to answer!
