The sounds of the Bazaar crept into Kayuqtuq's ears as she wandered through it, exploring a little before she left. What had began as a simple trip to get a case for her lute had expanded. First she had gotten the case, a simple thing slung over her back. Then she had saw a pretty picnic basket set, and caved, as she needed dishware. And than there was the blank music book. After that, she gave up. She bought a chamber pot, a wash basin, three cupboards, and a hutch. She had agreed to come back for it after she brought everything else home. So now she was scanning, for anything else that may be nice. And it was then that Kayuqtuq saw her.
It was a kitten. Her eyes glowed an adoring amber as she looked at the little grey thing. It's golden eyes glowed from under her fluffy tabby fur. I need that kitten! Kayuqtuq was not normally a cat person, but this one felt special.
The merchant felt her adoration and grinned widely. "You like this one, eh? She was the kitten of a barn cat, the owner's didn't want her. She is a fine choice, can get rid of some mice for you." Kayuqtuq was stunned by the little one's story. How can one so small have such a story? She settled on a conclusion.
"Will take. How much?" The merchant's smile grew wider. "5 silvers and I'll give you her, a food dish for her, and some basic information on how to take care of her." His smile expanded even more as she agreed. "All you need to know is to feed her, which should not be to much of a problem, and groom her, which might. Oh, and something, a tub filled with dirt or something, for her to relieve herself on." Kayuqtuq nodded and gestured for the man to place the food dish and the kitten in the picnic basket. When he did, she adjusted the basket's lid to fit the kitten's head poking through. She knew where to go next.
Nearby, there was a stall selling animal grooming supplies. The kitten's head still poking out, she selected a small kit of brushes and other things to groom the kitten wity. She handed the merchant the advertised amount, and took off, holding the kit. And so she bought one more thing. It was a boring, simple little bowl. She put the kit inside of it, and walked towards her home. Atka. Her name is Atka
